I don't really care where these actors hail from or about any preestablished fame that may have culminated from their stature in past mediocre tv roles
, the real test lies ahead for them in their capacity to enact their respective roles of two of our historys most greatest figures. The characters outweigh the actors, its an enormous task.
I naturally recollect back to that grand moment when Pankaj dheer as Karna made his very first entry into rangbhoomi wherein he cut Dronas speech retaliating with just 2 words, Hain Acharya, Hain.. (as Drona had been claiming there was no one compared to Arjuna) that voice alone so compelling, passionate and instantly absorbing, as he walked in further stating the fault of Drona in being quick in pronouncing Arjuna as the best without real test and etc.
Anyway I digress. But what one seeks for in Karnas character, is a solemn and silently powerfully Karna who compels by his mere presence, who engages from depths of his voice, who is wholly absorbed ever enticing us in his enigma. I can't say much yet, I guess in time he will develop, but at present I fail to become immersed by him, noticebably, his entry didn't initiate much in the way of awe and intrigue, making a flying entry just destroyed that element of amazement, even mystique that a more normal entry would have had.
