Fans damage Dhoni's house in Ranchi
IANS
Ranchi: Cricket fans, angry over the Indian team's loss to minnows Bangladesh in the World Cup, damaged wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni's under-construction house in Ranchi. Around two hundred fans under the banner of the Jharkhand Yuva Morcha (JYM) attacked the house in the Harmu housing colony. JYM is the youth wing of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), which is part of Jharkhand's ruling alliance. The house was being built on 4,000 square feet of land, costing around Rs.5 million, gifted to the dashing player by former Jharkhand chief minister Arjun Munda. The angry protesters burnt an effigy of the dashing player and shouted slogans "Dhoni Murdabad" (Down with Dhoni) and demanded that the land gifted to him be taken back.

"Dhoni's performance is getting from bad to worse. He seems to be concentrating only on advertisements instead of wicketkeeping and batting," said Ramesh Mahto, one of the protesters.

Thats really sad & unfortunate, they shouldn't do such things, after just one match he played bad, have they forgotten that at times he has single handedly helped the team even though he is a new player, he must be given enough time

I second that! 😛 That is very true, fans go on players bad performances and they forget all the good they have done in the past. Its exactly like football and the David Beckham issue after the WC last year.

I am wondering if they get hold of the player himself or one of their relatives..they won't hesitate to harm them..This all is being done by one of the alliance of the ruling party..So where will security come into play...when the ruling party itself is destroying some body's house

This way players will soon feel pressured to get dropped rather than in the team
