It is definitely wishful thinking for those who wish to get him out of DP's claws but even without DP in the picture what future did they have- he was there at JTHJ premier yet Anu made sure she avoided him and they completely blanked each other at the Vogue beauty awards. Things are awkward for sure but given the right film opportunity, no one's gonna refuse just cos of the co-star, so that's definitely Ranveer resolving to make things comfortable between them.
Even when they were pally, Ranveer would vehemently refuse and quickly shoot down any talk of the two in a relationship and Anushka would always try and gauge his response and be doubly defensive about finding another guy just to appear as though fine with it.
