Gubraithian Fire (everlasting fire)- Scots cheer Alba Gu Bragh which in Gaelic means Scotland forever. Because this name came from the north, it is probably the reason why in the novel, the giants of the north already knew about it.

Hermione Granger-Comes from the word "Hermes". In the play A Winter's Tale by William Shakespeare, a character called Hermione get turned into a staue. Similarly this happens to Hermione in The Chamber of Secrets
Hestia Jones- Hestia is the Goddess of hearth, which is a fireplace where meals ae cooked. Coincidently when Harry first meets her, she is standing near a tosater

Petunia Dursley- Petunia flower represents anger
Pomona Sprout- Her first name comes from the Roman Goddess of fruit. Her second name is a vegetable

St.Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries-St.Mungo's is a homeless charity in London. Saint Mungo was the patron saint of Glasgow
Tenebrus (Hagrid's favourite Thestral)-Comes from the Latin word meaning darkness or blindness
Thestrals- Comes from the anglo-Saxon word Thester meaning darkness or make dark
Weird Sisters (Harry's favourite musical group)-Comes from Shakespeare's play Macbeth; the three witches were often refered to as the weird sisters
