BOX OFFICE: Will Ram Leela Kill Krrish 3 Spree?
Hrithik Roshan's superhero film Krrish 3 was unstoppable at the Box Office. Until Friday, November 15, 2013.
As we reported previously, Krrish 3 directed by Rakesh Roshan and featuring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi had garnered a terrific business of about Rs 1.27 billion (Rs 127.34 crore) nett in its first week (Hindi only).
Starting second week on a positive note, on Day 8 Krrish 3 collected a good Rs 77.3 million (Rs 7.73 crore) nett approximately. Saturday and Sunday - Days 9 and 10 - saw an upwards spike with collections in the range of Rs 112.1 million (Rs 11.21 crore) nett and Rs 140 million (Rs 14 crore) nett respectively. This brought the 10 day total of Krrish 3 to about Rs 1.6 billion (Rs 160.28) crore nett (Hindi only).
The 11th to 14th day remained steady with collections bouncing between Rs 30-40 million (Rs 3-4 crore) nett. Finally, the second week total of Krrish 3 settled to an approximate Rs 485.4 million (Rs 48.54 crore) net (Hindi only).
However, on its third Friday - the day when Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh released - Hrithik Roshan's Krrish 3saw a good drop.
The third week has begun with a mere Rs 20 million (Rs 2 crore) nett, making the Rs 2 billion (Rs 200 crore) threshold difficult to cross at this point! (in Hindi, since the film has crossed the mark already with Telugu, Tamil and overseas collections included.)
The 15 day total of Krrish 3 currently stands at about Rs 1.77 billion (Rs 177.88 crore) nett.
