Salima Begum's subtle class and grace has always been heart warming. Her razor sharp mind and keen sense of right and wrong have always added to her quiet dignity. She might be silent, preferring to take a back seat, but she is nobody's fool. The lady again won quite a few brownie points for her invaluable support to Jodha.
Jalaal and Salima's immense respect for each other was a treat to watch. Their relationship is as unique as JJ's or for that matter JR's. Have to give credit to the cvs for the way they have portrayed Jalaal's relationship with all his three individual begums.
On the other hand, Jalaal has been disappointing. Come on Jalaal, you don't need another begum from your harem to point out Jodha's character to you. Shouldn't that be obvious even to the blind. Even a third person can vouch for Jodha's integrity and you who have known her for quite a while now, fought with her through various storms, observed closely her stance on life, her spirit, her essence, and are still groping in the dark? You, of all people, should have known Jodha is incapable of such an act. Even the thought seems impossible. Why does an emperor of his class, more important a husband in almost love, need someone else to certify Jodha's innocence? Not to mention, it takes away some shine and smartness from the character itself. On one hand they make efforts to show him larger than life, and at the same time show such lapses in his judgement and intelligence.
They both have made blunders and trust me I am not taking sides, but today this fact just rankled. It dimmed the relief I felt for the nearing end of this track.
