dats bcoz makers dont trust newcomers...all f dem want a khan or a kapoor for their flick n also dere goes a lot f internal politics favoring star sons instead of real good talent.

Well content is bad 'coz ppl are busy playing it safe by dishing out the same thing again & again or churning out some so called *inspired from the west* movies! And now with the new culture of nepotism seeping in, outsiders barely stand a chance! So say goodbye to quality unless you are willing to watch some offbeat, low budget movies!

Well it's not that hopeless if you compare last 40 year of Indian cinema then situation is definitely better.. well I agree the best period of cinema in terms of quality was 40s to 70s.. those were the films with great stories, acting, screenplay, awesome songs but pathetic BG score.. if you see movies of hrishikesh Da or Bimal roy those were just mind blowing..

Then come sippy's, manmohan shetty and it started the devolution of Indian cinema and u can see lots of stupid but superhit movies. in between there was some class movies with class actors like sanjeev kumar, amit Ji but overall situation was bad.. then came 1990 and some movies were grand and classic others are pure lame..

but if u see now since last 5 -10 years there are some really good movies like OMG, bheja fry, khosla ka ghosla, a wednesday, swadesh, CDI, BMB, JA, DCH and ZNMD the lunchbox etcs. now really it's evolving and because of multiplexes we are getting audiences for each type of cinema... I hope this will go on and we see some really awesome movies.

Everyone's idea of good movie is different. Rikshawwalla would consider Dabanng good movie; I consider No Smoking to be best movie of last decade and I thought 3 idiots was a average movie.
My point is that general public doesn't care about content or it can be said that their criteria for good content is vastly different from lovers of quality cinema.
