Forum 32 has been on the sets of Qubool Hai since the initial days of the show. Our first meeting with Surbhi Jyoti who plays Zoya Farooqui in the show was on the day when they were shooting for her wedding, the first wedding of the first episode.
We remember Gul Khan telling her, Surbhi and yes they all address her on the set as Zoya, "thoda aur sharmao, tumhari shaadi hai". The first thing that has struck us when we took a look at her through the monitor, was beautiful eyes. And we did not get to speak her for hours as she would go to sleep after the shot and that she was very tired. The Durgah scene was also shot that day and late into the night, Gorky M had done a photo-shoot with Karan Singh Grover, Rishabh Sinha and Surbhi Jyoti. The men in black and the bride in red.
And when we had subsequently met her on the sets it was again a case of not speaking too much as she loves to sleep. Today, everyone on the set calls her Zoya, Soya?
The first time we interacted with her at any length was during the Mangalpur track and yes you all can remember the pictures from there with Karan Singh Grover. We shall jog your memories with those pics, shall we? And then onwards it has been a journey.
From their engagement, to wedding (those that did not happen) to Ajmer track, we have captured everything that was Zoya Farooqui as portrayed by Surbhi.
Today, Asad Ahmed Khan is portrayed by another guy and when we are on the set, we do see that she gives tips to Raqesh Vashisht on how Asad is, as a character. And Raqesh obviously is eager to know as quickly as possible how the graph of his character can be maintained by him, in his own way.
Yesterday, they shot for a romantic sequence and we bring you a couple of pictures from there. We believe, Surbhi's life as Zoya Farooqui has changed to a level where when a dialogue used previously is brought back, it is to the same character, but the response though different in within the same space of that character. From working with Karan to Raqesh, we see Surbhi having adjusted splendidly and has gotten comfortable especially when one looks at them performing a romantic sequence. The behind the scene of course will come for you all once the episode is aired.
Life moves on, is something one sees, however, there is always tiny remembrances when a dialogue or moment that happens on the set when we feel the presence of Karan Singh Grover and yes, miss him. Not taking away from efforts of Raqesh, but a line from a song says it all, "Jaane waaley kabhi nahi aatey, par jaaney wale ki yaad aati hai..."
Qubool Hai airs every Monday to Friday at 9:30pm on Zee TV and one can watch Zoya Farooqui go through moments of anger, anguish, fun and yes we see some happiness coming her way in coming weeks, so stay tuned.
