Friends, today's episode was not the kind of episode one should look at in isolation. It was a kind of bridge episode, aiming to galvanise the the momentum of the "pregnancy track" and take it towards a fever pitch by tomorrow perhaps. I expect that tomorrow will see things escalate to a state where something drastic will have to be done, and thereby the remedial actions of Jalal may start surfacing by Friday. Perhaps the final solution to the whole issue may come only by early next week!

Meanwhile, as of today, anger and hurt was seen building up in Jalal and Jodha, even as Maham began to scent trouble between them and looked for an opportunity to exploit the situation ... but simultaneously it also looked like someone else (not Maham) was an active culprit aiming to contaminate the food and milk of Jodha to keep her pregnancy-like symptoms alive! This someone could be the actual "brain behind the plan" while Maham remains just an "exploiter of the available circumstances".

One of the best parts of the episode for me was the hint we got of the likely involvement of Salima in this track, who till now has been a relatively quiet bystander to events at the palace. If this track has some vital role for Salima to come to Jalal's aid with information and some clues, I will be very happy, for I like her character immensely and have always wanted her role to be a little heavier in the story.

Anyway, here's a pick of three topics that I think shaped today's episode ...

Jalal and Jodha: I felt very, very sad and sorry for these hurting souls

Yesterday Jodha came to Jalal's room and said her long piece about how much she hated the fact that he had taken advantage of her unconsciousness to trangress the promises he had made. Jalal instead of voicing his doubts on Jodha's infidelity in front of Ruq (and looking like he was being cuckolded), chose instead say that he had promised not to do anything, but then Jodha was not in control of herself that night, leading perhaps to this pregnancy now!

Today when the episode opened, the distaste of yesterday's conversation seemed to linger with Jalal as he and his family watched some qawwali singers perform, in the company of the visiting Maulana who had come to bless them. All through the performance, Jalal looked like his blood pressure was slowly and steadily building up to a dangerous level. He kept up fake smiles at the people around but couldn't help his occasional accusatory dagger-like glances at Jodha - who also looked like she was ready for a hateful-eyed staring match!

Then the Maulana made them both hold hands under a holy chaddar and say prayers thanking God for "the blessings of the child, their marriage and their love". Jalal got through the prayer OK, but when it was Jodha's turn to say the words "marriage" and "love" the sarcastic smirks from Jalal were barely hidden! He was all scorn and derision!

Hardly had the prayers been done, than he strode into Jodha's room imperiously and just directly attacked her with the question: "Who is he, this man with whom you've been having an affair and become pregnant by?" He further added: "I said nothing before Ruq yesterday about all this, but I demand answers now!" Shocked speechless, Jodha held up her hand to stop him from going further, and said "Bas!" with all the fury she could command. She then hit back saying he was the man who had taken advantage of her annd made her pregnant. She said he was dithering and betraying his own culpability. He had first said he slept with her that night, then he had said he didn't, and again yesterday before Ruq he had said he did, and now he was saying again he didn't!

Jalal however held his anger about the "affair" swearing vengeance on the man whom she had slept with, while she pulled all stops to say she was a Rajvanshi and she could not ever be accused doing something that would blot the Rajvanshi code of honour. Jalal was so consumed with what he wanted to say, and so was Jodha, that they hardly heard each other properly. No argument of the one made any sense to the other. Accusations flew thick and fast. By the time they were done, I thought I saw not just anger in his eyes and her eyes, but both had unshed tears of deep hurt.

I felt very, very sad folks to see these two people so at odds ... both unable to reach out to the other, deeply affected by the cheapening content of those wild mutual accusations and both being unable to offer proof to soothe the nerves of the other.

My heart feels very heavy today, because I cannot bear to see people hurt so much inside, and all that fury and harsh language could not hide their hurt from my eyes. I feel like saying to them both: "Jodha and Jalal, please for heaven's sake, cool down and try to make sense of all this as a team! There are too many people looking to split you up before you've even begun to find yourselves and each other! Don't become such easy fodder!"

The Maham angle: character assassination to bring down Jodha

While Jodha and Jalal were well into their slanging match, there was Maham lurking behind the curtains doing what she was best at: eavesdropping. What she heard confirmed the suspicions she had been having all evening that something was not okay in the Jodha-Jalal relationship. Now she knew what exactly the problem was. Jalal said he hadn't slept with Jodha. The midwife said Jodha was pregnant. Put two and two together and you get four hundred... in other words, Jodha must have been indulging in an affair, and that was what was biting Jalal!

Maham wasted no time in getting Resham to summon the Khwaja Sera post-haste to her room - the same quack that had diagnosed Jodha's pregnancy. She began by asking the Khwaja Sera if she was dead sure it was a pregnancy? The Khwaja Sera swore on her years of experience and loyalty to the palace. Maham then asked again: "I hope you're not in the pay of someone to say all this? For if you are up to some hanky-panky, your head will be soon rolling." The Khwaja Sera still maintained she was kosher. Maham then asked her to name the symptoms she had found on Jodha to confirm pregnancy and here was the big joke of the evening: the Khwaja Sera said she found Jodha irritable and breathless! For God's sake! Is that the best they could do in those days? Anyway Maham herself thought it was too little proof perhaps, for she then asked "Which month is Jodha on?" and the Khwaja Sera said Jodha was on her first month.

Whether Maham believed in the Khwaja Sera's diagnosis is still not clear but she sure found the diagnosis invaluable for exploitation - for in the last one month Jodha had been to Amer and back and could be suspected to have done anything with any man there!

From what transpired today I am personally convinced that Maham may not herself be the "brain behind the plan" of this pregnancy story. But Maham did look like she had been handed a hand-grenade to throw into the crowd to get a great "scandal" going. She decided that the person to not alert in this case was Jalal, because her game was going to be to "shame Jodha" in public. She gave some mute instructions to Resham, but it was not hard to guess (seeing the precap) that the idea was to "character-assassinate Jodha" and then pretend to be Jodha's friend and offer to douse the flames. Hamida in the precap is also seen to be telling Jodha there was no more place for her in the palace or at Agra ... which suggests that Hamida has bought into the scandalous story, and she now believes the worst of Jodha!

The culprit angle: milk tampering to enhance Jodha's symptoms

So if Maham is not the "brain behind the plan" then who is? Spoilers told us two days ago that Sharif would fan the rumours ... and so we thought Maham or someone else may be the originator of the plan (if at all there was a plan and not a simple misdiagnosis). But now it looks like Maham and Sharif may have swtiched places. Sharif may well be the "brain behind the plan" and Maham the rumour-fanning agent!

Anyway the henchwoman of the plan originator (a hooded person) was seen in the kitchen today adding something suspicious to a jug of milk. Salima came to the kitchen to fetch milk for Rahim and almost at the same time Moti was there too to get milk for Jodha. Salima thought she heard something when the hooded lady ran to take cover behind some stacks of provisions. When Moti was about to pick up the "contaminated glass of milk" Salima, alert to the the treacherous ways of this palace, decided to taste-test the milk going to Jodha. As she took a spoonful of milk, the hooded lady was seen hitting her forehead in dismay! Then Salima declared the milk to be okay and took another glass for Rahim. Somewhere in the glass going for Jodha or the glass going for Rahim, it looks like a mixup is about to happen. Maybe tomorrow Salima may betray the same pregnancy-like symptoms of Jodha (from that spoonful of milk she took) or else Rahim may have the symptoms if the contaminated glass went to him.

Either way Salima could be in possession of some vital clues about milk contamination, pregnancy-like after-effects of the milk, and her suspicions of the person hiding in the kitchen. If Salima carries all this to Jalal it could put Jalal on the scent to chase down the plan originator and silence the scandal-fanner.

If the Maulana is still going to be at the Agra palace as all this happens, he may well do a re-examination of Jodha's symptoms and say she is not pregnant. As always the evil ones will look lily-white in the end, and the palace will go back to its usual pace, while Jodha and Jalal will have to pick up the pieces of their broken trust in each other.

My two questions at this time are this:

1. Are all these clues we are seeing today real clues or red herrings? Is there a conspiracy or isn't there one? Is it more about a "saazish" or a "character-assassination campaign"?
2. Jodha is going to be all alone trapped amidst this relentless "scandal mongering" where even Hamida deserts her. She has no one but Jalal. So how soon will Jalal get scent that Jodha may be the victim of a saazish?
Will it happen hopefully by tomorrow, thanks to Salima and the Maulana?
And will he then immediately take Jodha into confidence, reassure her that she is not pregnant, and have this important conversation with her (by Friday) where they both admit how wrong they were to suspect each other?
After that, next week, let Jalal do all his rumour-quelling and culprit-nailing, I have no problem.
I just don't want a situation where he keeps Jodha in terrifying suspense and torture for a week and a half, not telling her she's okay or what he is up to till he seals the whole issue!

Just when we think we have found the clues, things
can change. Hpefully we will not have to wait long.
I just don't want to predict anything right now.

Superb post Mansi 👍🏼
Have to applaud you for this.👏👏 This is the crux of this entire distasteful matter.....
As always the evil ones will look lily-white in the end, and the palace will go back to its usual pace, while Jodha and Jalal will have to pick up the pieces of their broken trust in each other.

My question is how do they fill this deep chasm of mistrust? 😕

Just down with viral fever and so will not write too much.

It was a heart breaking episode when watched in isolation but when watched in totality, this episode served as a pointer as to which direction this track is heading..for me personally ,the restraint in public showed by both Jo and jalal was wonderful..but It was depressing to see a shenshah (that too who is more world wisely than his wife) accusing his wife of infidelity...having read enough literature on the status of women during mughal era, this should not have affected me but it did ,probably due to my upbringing which has taught me to value myself as a woman..I would not fault jalal here as circumstances have conspired against the couple bringing them to this impasse..the angry exchange left me sad at watching the fragile trust between the two ,doddering and stumbling.yet I am able sense light at the end of this tunnel,so will wait for this to pass.

I had full confidence in MA,that she would play her part well in forcing jalal to act and confront the issue head on..there she is,started her meddling but I found her tarnishing jodha' s reputation distasteful.

Salima' s concern for jo was touching .I found it comforting that she was suspicious about somebody entering the kitchen to mix something in the milk..I also was mentally applauding Salima for her act of tasting the milk..An angel in disguise who may protect jodha and jalal from ignominy of their actions..
Last but not the least, was hamida banu really mistrusting Jo?.Will comment on that after watching the scene tomorrow..
As usual you have presented your thoughts well..a round of applause for that

beautiful analysis once again...but it was sad episode for me...i really feel bad for Akdha...they don't deserve this...but then it did gives us a peep into their current status of relationship...the friendship is bloomed...but then there is no trust factor formed yet in their relationship...
below is my take

Celebrations And More Celebrations

celebrations are always known to be a happy occasion...but here both the souls are deep in dilemma...nursing a wound heart...neither they can express and vent their anger nor they could hide it...jallu-jodha eyes both reveal the pain in their face through their smiles...it was painful to watch them so hurt...so heartbroken and jallu giving a fake smile but his heart is shattered into pieces...lots of questions in their brains but there is no answer at all...not even a clue...

here the dilemma was more on the answers they want to know for their questions...they are still confused...and can't find a solution to handle the issue...all they can do sit and swallow the venom...

Akdha Prayers For Their Non-Existent Baby...Love And Relationship

did you notice jodha took a long time to say the word "prem"...a perfect hint that she is not in love with him at the moment...

the other thing i loved was jodha once again watches jallu's way in praying...and she took the same step...

once again we notice here...both are praying but not too happy...again brains are filled with questions and no answer...the anger...the pain...was visible in their face and eyes...but being matured...they conduct the prayers...jallu fake smile once again tried to hide his pain...but it fails miserable...more than anger...his eyes had so much pain...

did we ever saw so much pain in jallu's eyes...for it was the first time i am seeing such horrible pain jallu's eyes...the pain is something more than anger and betrayal...

MA Notices Akdha Dilemma

once again vamps will know each and every detail of the couple...she is one smart and shrewd lady...nothing can be hidden from her...especially when it comes to jallu...she notice his every expression...his every move...thats what i call a true player...she is definitely going to investigate

Akdha Face Off

while watching this scenes...i feel so sad and bad for jodha...as a women its really hurting to hear that you are having an affair from your husband...and jodha just heard that from her...though its a conspiracy but in the end jallu did question jodha's loyalty...character and virginity...it hurt jodha's self-respect and self-esteem more than jodha herself...the moment he told jodha whose baby she is carrying...and she almost died...disgusting is the word written in all her expressions and eyes...thats the reason she stopped him

for a women...her self-respect and self-esteem is most important...she stop jallu right away and put forward her points in his lies to ruku...to her...jallu have no answer for that...but he swears that he did not even touch her...hence back to square one...it shows that they were able to tolerate each other than it turn into a sweet friendship...but the trust which is needed in any relationship was not created in here...

it gave a inside hint that their relationship is still in weak process becos the most important factor in a relationship "Trust" is not formed in their relationship...and this is why people like MA...Adham...Shariffudin could use their weakness as advantage...once the trust is created...nothing can break Akdha apart...

this whole scene hinted us that the trust factor...its not created yet by Akdha...therefore both are right in their perspective...but then to accuse someone for a adultery...jallu needs to gain proofs before shouting at her...as for jodha...she is still sync with her character...ghrina mode...

MA heard the whole convo...she hates jodha so this piece of news is a advantage for her...

Jodha-Moti Convo

one could really understand jodha's pain...she is already shattered that her husband breaks his promise and made her pregnant...now more worst has happened that she wants to die which is her husband suspecting her of having an affair...one could understand her plight...and she really curse the day when she got married to this man...i feel so bad for her...every day she needs to pass a test in Agra...and this time she needs to give Agni Pariksha of character and virginity...no women should go through the trouble which jodha is going through now...

she is disgusted by jallu's words...his words totally hurt her...almost died

Akdha's Secret MA Advantage

she call khwaja shera and enquire abt the symptoms...never really bothered much in this scenes...only got confused how the hell that poison brought pregnancy symptoms in jodha...

Clues and Hints

it looks like salima is going to come in for rescue...hints is already given...and the mysterious women is definitely Bakshi Bano...i just love the friendship b/w salima-jodha...she cares for jodha so much just like her little sister...i wish to see such bond b/w ruku-jodha too...but i think i am expecting too much...

jallu has hurt jodha's self-respect and self-esteem with his heartless words...and also she is going to be humiliated too...its more than enough blow for a women...everyone is against her...its not easy for jallu now to win jodha's friendship back..he will have to really work hard to win her back

Sonia:

Isn't that the really sad part that everybody else will just go back to their lives and here are the two people who will be in a shambles! I really really hope we get a good scene where they talk to each other, instead of at each other, and both feel sorry about the mistrust and decide never to let this happen again!

Sangeetha:
First of all, hope you get well soon!
That sentence I've marked in blue sums it up for me. It was a really heart-breaking scene between the two of them, but as you say there is light at the end of the tunnel and a hope that they are going to be in a better place than where they were before this incident.
Salima is the one I am counting on to play some strong role!

Hey you,
2 and 3/4 time...
MEthinx that Jalal should stop having jashns...to misquote the evergreen 3 idiots dialogue...jab bhi bhi uski koi jashn honi hoti hai...uska band baja ne ke liye koi na koi aa jata hai😆
So...Raging Bull..snorting smoke through his flaring nostrils...comes charging into the Fiery Damsel's chamber, expecting to find her defensive and cowering..
Instead, what ensues is a Gunfight at OK Corral type moment, with lamhon ka hisab being bandied about ...in lieu of bullets...😕
First...Damsel is put on the backfoot by Snorting...err...Raging Bull's volley of charges..she does a rapid fire recovery..and then HAHA !...tis his turn...Raging Bull then looked stumped at the return volley of glares, barrage of time schedules and tears...😲
He then regains footing to glaringly decide to launch a volcanic investigation and account for every minute...nay second spent without him...errr...fleeting that they were...since he kept looking for excuses to keep those at minimum...
Now u c why there is no smoke without fire...God the atmosphere shall triple its fog content by the time these two are done...
At this rate, both would qualify as excellent bookkeepers/timekepers...Every office should then be on the run to hire either one, or the other..or both...coz at this rate...tis pretty much..Buy 1 get the other freee...
U r right...this was a filler, gain momentum type ka epi...but it has its own relevance in the way that NEW MOON had its in the twilight series ( yea yea, I did read it...😡) And yes, New Moon was the book i did enjoy reading...
For a second there, after Jalal's backatcha soliloquy...I thought...fleetingly..that Jodha put her thinking cap on...with her What in the Heck was that expression...But Alas, emotion swept that one away...
Then Evel Knevel...aka..Niccola Machiavellini...gets into her act by inviting the most inept physician in Islamdom...whose xplanations of pregnancy symptoms were so baffling...it took me back to my early hindi movie days...where i truly thought that when two flowers struck together( as they SOOO euphemistically depicted smooches & or more...sheesh! such cheapskates..one euphmism covered the lot..😡)...anyhoo, i thought that two flower moment led to pregnancy...yeah...was REALLY that naive(massive eye roll here!)

I do love Maham Anga tho...she is the only analytical one here...of Borgia cadre no doubt...but still..she gives the phrase power behind the throne...so much..well POWER!!! And she does know a thing or two bout striking while the iron is hot..or in this case...Raging!!!!😛

The rest was pure pap...
