I have to confess, never have I waited for a cake to get ruined as desperately as this once 😆 😆 😆 I literally expected it to fall of its own weight, with Khushbu's mere buri nazar on its cherries 😆
Highlight of the episode has to be the foundation of what we have all predicted - Prabha vs Ami 😆 This was Ami hit down to her lowest, turning the tables on Prabha without even meaning to 😆 Oh Prabha, apni maa ke apmaan ka badlaa tumse chunn chunn ke lene waali hai yeh chaapli 😆 😆
She could all too well have manipulated Shruti - even if that is demented as any twist no less - but see, the thing is, there is never going to be any keeping Ami to shut up about what Prabha is up to, once it comes to that. She's no age, much less any "temperament" to silently endure, and then put on a contrary act for Sanjay Uncle's convenience. I'm not saying I'm looking forward to Prabha vs Ami as a USP factor, but since there is hardly going to be any respite from Prabha devi, I'd rather watch her band bajoed over and over.
And talking of Sanjay Uncle, the sweetest thing about the episode for me was... something very trivial - most likely unintentional in the sense I received it, but an understated odd moment to me. It was Ami thinking to herself that Sanjay is going to be so mad at her for ruining his big day and moment. I know, in writing, it was only a (let's admit it) relatively forced reason to blow up the situation to a point where Shruti shows up. But when you think about it, there was an implicit obvious there. The apprehension and fear on Ami's part was something that - at least by generic norm - comes out in children only wrt their parents' reactions to their goof ups. How many of us are scared about getting a frown or a hiding from our grandparents, or family friends? Those are the people who will usually spoil us, act as a buffer we might not actually deserve in the face of our pranks. Sanjay was never going to blast Ami for the cake, obviously, but that Ami, in that moment, ran away thinking it, was like this... unstated sort of statement on the bond between them, not just going beyond that of a child and her parent's best friend, but child and an almost parent. I'm pretty sure that was not the reason the exact dialogue was even written into the scene. And I'm mildly surprised at myself for having latched onto it in the midst of the masala drama. But there it is. I loved it! 😳 I love when something so much in the passing can make a point that is so easy to miss. Because life make's its points like that, most of the times, we only catch the signs in retrospect...
ps: Nur, isn't that electric blue sherwani a "trend-setter" courtesy of Doctorwa Louu? 😆 I have faint memory of seeing him wear it somewhere, sometime, in DMG... Yes, it looked horrible. The more horrible part of ALL the smiles from Bhavna the camera focused on, over and over. Yaaar, diabetes ho jaate muje, to spend a lifetime with someone like her. Geee. And that cake - BIGGEST SURPRISE BY PRABHA DEVI THE SELF CLAIMED BEST - sooo horribly tacky. 😕 Khair, I suppose it was a fitting tribute to the wannabe occasion. Not to mention, I had no sad feeling for it being smashed to the floor 😆 😆 Even the cherries looked last century - the pet dard Ami anticipated people would get, because of Khushbu's neeyat, would have actually been thanks to the cake itself. Bach gaye sab, thanks to Ami 😆 😆 😆
