She's feeling frustrated because she wants to be Mariam uz-Zamani and Jodha being one of the 3 principal begums(and Salima being majorly out of the equation) possibly adds to the fire. She feel Jodha is her principal rival.

she feels that IT IS BECAUSE of his ongoing closeness with Jodha that Jalal has started lying to her and omitting details of his relationship with Jodha...

I guess he's never done any such thing wrt any other Begum before...so Ruqs is feeling the pinch - and Jalal felt bad about it too!

Though I don't appreciate Ruq's thirst to dissect all about her Shehenshah's nightly activities - I can understand her insecurity when she mistakes that Jalal has begun hiding things from her..

she thinks jalal lied about the night spend with jodha and her already existing insecurity regarding him and jodha ...all finally burst up when it was announced that she was pregnant...and as per her Jalal has never lied to her ever and he knows her wish of being the first to give him a heir too...and the aftermath is as all fear jodha becomes important ,MUZ etc etc...hence ...

and if i am ruqaiyya i will not forget my husband's joke about i love her ...the lady is supposed to be smart...she should sense things...

even after things get resolved,rukku is pacified the wedge shall remain even if not visible but it shall as she herself said which even he cannot fill...

the real insecurities in their relationship is raising its head...both from Jalal and ruqaiyya's side...he refuses to give anything more to the relationship other than friendship and she has made herself believe that this is the best he can give beyond that he is not capable...she refuses to show her vulnerability for the fear of being rejected ...but now they are slowly being forced to see their own truth ...this is not even her final burst...that will be when she realises he does have a heart ..that would be the day when all the guard will collapse for her ...i hope lavina does justice to that scene...

😭 and to think such things would have really played out so in history too...

lashy i do not even want to think about their condition in reality ..it was depressing ...imagine watching your husband spend nights with so many other women and then waiting for your turn ..and the fear of him actually falling for someone ..shudders

no wonder she is so obsessive about her power and position cause that is the only thing she can hold onto or else you would be lost in that harem

Anchal, you should read the replies in Mansi's thread...people who've read books on Harem life have actually commented there..and by the looks of it - it shows that Ruqaiyya's questions weren't out of place at all...

Her seemingly distasteful interest in knowing about 'what happened in the night' is ACTUALLY how it would have been between chief queen (of harem) and the rest of the Begums/Shehenshah.

This is so that illegitimate affairs and other things of the sort are kept under control/ruled out. It is also, so they know that when a lady in the Harem becomes pregnant they actually KNOW it was the king's. Since there was no DNA testing then, what else could these people have done except charting a lady's cycles and when/how her relationship with the king went. Apparently, they had a log book for it that was maintained by the Khwaja Shera!

I know it all seems so ridiculous today, but then - all this boils down to the fact that they want to ensure legitimacy of any child born in the Harem and his claim to the throne!

After all, it is the question of the safety/lives of hundreds of thousands of people who'd then be ruled by that 'waaris'
