Ok So I put on my sherlock homes TOPI
They also swapped the still baby to meenu so she thinks the boy died.

Here is what happened.
Anaga anaga ... ahem ok thats telugu..
Bohot saal pehlay ki baat hai...
meenu aur Ira kay ghar aayi ek nayi saugaat hai...
Daddu aur Alok ... banay matwalay...
Anoop ko bhi mila juice bharay pyalay.
Ghodh bharai ki rasam suhani...
Ira aur Meenu hui sayaani.
SHOR macha... angan main ..
Ira aur meenu gaye apnay apnay jaapay main.
Tadap uti ira bechari
Meenu ki tadap bhi na suni begaani.
Dair se lekin , aayi ek awaaz niraali...
Meenu kay ghodh may aayi ek bachi pyari.
Phir cheekh uti bagal kay kamrey sey .. Alok dhoday jaise hue langday sey.
Shokh kay baadal cha gaye chehre pe
Lage hawa aur waqt tehre se
Sannata chaya Ira kay kamre main aise
jaise toofan kay pehlay awaaz ho waise
Alok soch main pad gaye becharay
rothay hue gaye bhai kay dwaray
Anoop nay rakha haathon main apnay ansh ko
Alok say kaha jao badao apnay vansh ko
Alok nay kaha ki kaise karun main ye bhaiyyah
kaise khada karun mahal jab doop rahi teri nayiyyah
Kaha anoop nay , na ro meray bhai

meenu gave birth to twins.
A girl and a Boy.
Ira gave birth to still born
Anoop, Alok and daddu decided to give the boy to Ira , so as not make her feel that she did give birth.
And Kept the girl for Meenu.
They also swapped the still baby to meenu so she thinks the boy died.
But they thought she would be happy with one child and everyone is happy.
But sadly for meenu , the girl died. And she never came to know the truth.

So far thats my theory LOLOL
But then it beats all the adoption point angle.. So hmmm
