This is one of my blog articles which I'd like to share... please do leave ur thoughts on the same...

Disclaimer: No offence to the male of the Human Species 😳😉

The other day I heard a guy accusing another of Bitching....😕
I laughed thinking of such a feminine connotation being used on a man😆... And then it struck... All negative connotations happen to be feminine...

A little into the history of this word... The word in itself is not derogatory... It just refers to the female of a species we call- Man's Best Friend. But the light in which this word is used these days makes it extremely derogatory. And in the context I am talking about, it refers to a gossip monger carrying tales and starting fights.... Huh!!!Gossiping, Starting Fights, Carrying Tales, Ill temper etc.. are generally considered exclusively Feminine traits...
I just remembered an incident that occured while chatting on an online forum...The game basically was tht one member asks a googly question and the others try to find a witty answer to it... One of the questions asked was- "Name a thing invented by a woman"..... And the answers?? They ranged from "Gossips" to "Quarrels" to things I would not like to mention.... I called them MCP's and stomped off in a fit of rage...

This reminds me of Jug Suraiya's article in TOI..... We hear of Hurricanes called "Katrina" and "Wilma".After all Hurricans are supposed to be "ill tempered" like Women! Have we ever heard of Hurricane Dave or Jack? Even if exceptions do exist.. They are far and few..

As William Shakespeare had once said, a "Spinster" is a woman who can be equated to ill temper, ugliness,unpleasantness; a hag who drives men away from her.She is a Spinster not out of choice but because she has none. Her male counterpart, a "Bachelor" on the other hand is a Smart Guy who is the object of envy of other men. Huh!! An attractive guy or a ladykiller is called a "Stud" and an attractive girl who'd probably enjoy the male attention?? More often than not she will be labelled a "Chic" or worse...A "Whore."🤢

Had it not been for JK Rowling... "Witch" would have remained a dirty word. "Wizards" or "Warlocks" have remained as respectable as they always were.😕
Even ancient Literature blames Women for the miseries of mankind...

"The Trojan War took place... Not because of a perverted mind... But because of Helen's beauty"...

"The Mahabharat War surely took place because of Draupadi... had it not been her... The Pandavas and Kauravas would have lived in peace."...

"Allauddin Khilji would not have attacked... had Padmini not been so beautiful"...

Men have set up negative connotations for the *fairer sex* inspite that they, themselves, are the cause of much of this negativity.

Not fair for woman... many a times men exhibit similar triats... What would they call that?? 😡

LOL @ the Welma, Katrina storms...Enough to "Make the males fly" without aeroplane 😆

If you're interested, though Battle of Troy is said to be because of Helen's beauty but both abductors of Helen, Theseus and Paris of Troy, were punished. Theseus abducted Helen and Peirithous tried to abduct Persephone from Hades in search of divine/ immortal wives. Both were captured and imprisoned on the two chairs of Lethe (forgetfulness) in Hades, to make them forget their sacrilegious act. Theseus was later rescued by Heracles. And ofcourse Paris was killed. So, the males also get their just punishment in these epics.

Since a hurricane can last for a week or more, and there can be more than one storm at a time, weather forecasters give each storm a name so there is no confusion when talking about a particular storm. Each year, the first tropical storm of the season is given a name that starts with A, the second storm is given a name that starts with a B, and so on (the letters Q, U, X, Y, and Z are not used becasue there are few common names starting with these letters). Women's and men's names are alternated. The name lists are made up by meteorologists at the World Meteorological Organization. In the active hurricane season of 2005, Greek letters began to be used to name tropical storms after the letters of the alphabet had been used.

There are different name lists for Atlantic and eastern Pacific tropical storms. Storms are named as soon as the winds are 39 mph or more. The names of very destructive storms (like Andrew, Camille, Hugo, and Katrina) are retired (they are never used again).

The only reason I posted this information is that just two weeks ago, I had done a listening task on this very topic, so I thought of clearing up one misconception - two of the most destructive storms have been named after men 😉 and the most destructive one was Andrew!

Andrew was the most costly US storm on record with total losses of $26.5 billion, $1 billion of which was in Louisiana while the rest was in Florida. Winds gusted at over 175mph and had sustained strengths of 145mph. At least 180,000 people were left homeless, 126,000 homes destroyed or damaged, over 50 people killed as a direct or indirect effect of the storm and at least 10,400 injured.

😆😆😆 This is a veri nice observation.. You know its a mans world dont worry history will change soon...

Achilles wont come for helen.. but for dave or mark.....

Draupadis wont wear saris but jeans and a t-shirt.. so duryodhan wont really know what exactly to pull......

Allauddin khilji of tomorrow will have so much access to internet... he will not have to go for any physical padmini any more...

But again.. this is really good observation and agree.. it was cos its been a mans world so far...
