Time for some clean comedy

'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' seems to have become a mandatory halt for Bollywood actors when it comes to promoting their movies and connecting with their viewers.
The show's lead couple, played by Jethalal ( Dilip Joshi) and Dayaben (Disha Vakani), has already been invited on Kaun Banega Crorepati, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. And recently, TMKOC has seen the likes of Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ranbir Kapoor shooting with the cast to promote their films.
Says producer Asit Kumarr Modi, "The show was difficult to begin with, but today, it has become a cult. Our two other shows " Waah Waah Kya Baat Hai and Sab Khelo Sab Jeeto " are also clean family entertainers. Indian society is all about families and our shows offer family entertainment, which is our main objective."
TMKOC, which has consistently figured among the top five shows across channels, highlights topical issues. "Our characters are household names. There are even families who put their mobile phones in silent mode when the show airs. I feel that the 7.30-9.30 pm time band must cater to family audience. Showing negativity can put viewers off. Our only aim is to spread joy," says Asit.
While Waah Waah Kya Baat Hai is a show about comical poetry, Neela Telefilm's Sab Khelo Sab Jeeto is a game show aimed at entertaining the participants as well as the viewers.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah airs from Monday to Friday at 8.30 pm with repeat telecast at 11 pm on SAB TV.
