Wish all of my friends and their families a very Happy and Prosperous Diwali
Thank you all for the wonderful comments guys. As a treat and only update of this week, I have made it extra long with a lot happening. I am yet to type next few chapters but I think story will move quite fast now especially once Maan returns back to office. I had taken a pause to build Maan and Geet relationship which I think is now achieved.
I have replied to few of you below -
Avi - Thanks dear. In lot of stories I see sacrifice from Maan and Geet for each other's benefit and ending up giving more pain. From now they will be each other's strength and complete each other. That was the point I wanted to make.
Shruthe - I absolutely loved that sequence and I am glad I could use it so effectively. Sorry about RK mansion...
Doublecross - dear I am also waiting for divorce made in heaven...thanks for your lovely comment
Scorpiodreams, rashmivaish, anuandavi, maanmeet1 - Point was that they need to be together always. So don't worry. Hurdles will be many but they will be there for each other
Crazydream - Thanks dear. I loved when you said hundred of girls will fume...LOL
Ramykrish - Dev is completely his mama's boy and a villain
--aarthi-- - sorry about RK mansion yaar...too much madhubala these days
Tellyme - Thanks dear. You are yourself no less a superwoman at such scenes...
Nivedithachand - Thanks dear for the wishes and your kind words
Nga0130 - This whole FF is dedicated to our serial so yes even I get so nostalgic writing the scenes. Thanks a lot dear.
Jasraj123 - Thanks dear...your comment about Geet's competition cracked me up...abhi dekhna kaise batti lagegi Sasha ki...serial mein chod diya tha use...yahan Maan class lena wala hai...
Dumas - Thanks dear...yes he wanted her to understand that her being there with him is more important than fame and riches
Ajenn - Thank you Jenn...after such a long time I am seeing such an indepth comment from you...loved it. Yes, even I loved him in casual shirts and tees...but they showed him very less in those and after marriage I think PH ran completely out of ideas and money...
Sree10 - Thanks dear...yes I had such a fight in getting pics where Maan seems passionate and not angry at her...LOL. I may not stretch too much on marriage and honeymoon in this FF but you have requested so will try to give few parts.
Paintedsky - He is the stronger one dear but he fears if she leaves him thinking she is not good enough for him. It is not easy to hear society talking always that how Maan is taking pity on her or she is not the right one.
Luvforever, maanland, ...ridhima..., priya111111 - Thank you dear for such kind words.
Meesocute - Thanks dear. He has removed the reason for their separation so now a challenge for me...LOL
Spvd - Thanks dear...LOL Sasha...just see how Maan makes her realise her position in his life
_snowflakes_ - ab itni teasing to banti hai...nahi
Remya_pillai - You are bang on dear...it is about filling that emotional void which is left in both of them...
Mayashrisawant7 - Thanks dear...you will soon see Geet's strength
-lakshmi- Thanks dear and wish you a very happy Diwali too. I am myself a big fan of that scene and always imagined it a sensual one though in serial Maan was angry...
Madhuri53 - Thanks dear and I completely agree. I think they had limitations but would have liked a little bit of romance instead of purely Maan's anger especially when it was clear that Geet was affected by him...so I completed the scene for you. Thanks for pointing about RK mansion and yes, wish you also a very Happy Diwali
Zaara212 - Thanks dear...yes this promise will help them go through all their issues with strength
Annbell - Thank you dear so much for commenting and also for your kind words. Please do comment frequently as this is the only way I can know how you fell about the story.
Twilightsparkle - Tum shaadi ho jaane do, breakfast and desert sab kuch yahi hone wala hai...Thanks dear for the comment
VERY IMPORTANT: Please add ritzypm as buddy to gets PMs for this FF
Chapter 62 - Hum Chup Hain
Maan saw Geet entering the outhouse all smiling. There was a hint of redness to her cheeks but sparkle of excitement as well in her eyes. He looked at her a little quizzically wondering what she was thinking when he saw her caressing a ring fondly. He instantaneously recognised it as his Daadi's favourite ring which she wore almost everyday. It did not take him long to figure out what must have happened and why Daadima stopped her and smiled slightly more with satisfaction that at least his Daadima has truly accepted her. He felt proud
"Tum ho hi itni pyaari Geet...tumhein khud ki kadar nahi pata. I wish tum isi tarah khush raho aur kahin na kahin tumhaari in khushiyon se mein juda rahoon"
Next Day, Sunday
Geet came to the mansion along with Meera and Anu. She greeted Daadima giving her the Prasad from the temple she had visited enroute.
"Yeh lijiye Daadima, Meera and Anu are here...ab aap pura din inke sath bitayiye as you had requested yesterday."
Daadima took Anu in her arms "Haan bahut miss kar rahe the hum indono ko"
As her eyes met Meera's she saw her giggling and pointing towards Geet. Daadima also chuckled as she found her all lost and looking here and there.
"Kya hua Geet...kuch dhund rahi hain aap"
Geet had no idea how to say her restlessness. She knew that Maan would also want to meet her before she went for her class the whole day. They could at least spend time together if it was office but aaj toh woh bhi nahi hai and thought of going away without seeing him was making her anxious.
"Nahi...nahi Daadima...bas aise hi"
"Toh jaiye phir...aap ko der ho rahi hogi na class ke liye...breakfast kiya hai aapne?"
"Ji...haan...kar liya...thik hain Daadima...toh mein jaoon..."
When Daadima did not respond she turned to go and missed the giggle and hi-five between Daadima and Meera behind her back. She once again said "acha mein chalti hoon" hoping someone will stop her.
"Haan jaiye jaiye lekin us se pehle agar aap ko late na ho toh humara ek kam kar dijiye"
Geet instantaneously turned and asked in full enthusiasm - "Haan kya na Daadima...boliye"
Daadima burst out laughing seeing her excited response for any excuse to stay back.
"Aap bhi na Geet..."
Daadima pulled her cheeks "you are so cute"
"Daadima!!!"
"Agar Maan se mile bina gayi toh woh humara pure din kya haal karenge aapko pata hai...khunkhar sher ki tarah"
Geet blushed red "kya Daadima...please"
Naintara who was busy rolling her eyes and thinking "Jaldi aayi mummyji and finish this drama" got up not able to take all the laughter and teasing. Kisi kisi ko koi bhi khushi manzoor kahan hoti hai
"Waise Geet...aap chahe toh ab toh apni studies chod sakti hain...ab toh aapne itni badi machli...mera matlab what can you ask for more than Maan veerji...nahi"
"Naintara, sometimes I wonder if you say these things as a joke or you are actually dumb"
Naintara fumed at her insult but she could do nothing to answer back Daadima who continued "Even after studying from London you do not understand the value of education compared to someone who has probably studied her entire life in a very small school from a very small town. But thik hai shaadi se pehle aap job hi thi, aapko itna pata hona chaiye ki humne bhi apni padhai, shaadi ke baad, pure parivaar ke khilaf jaake ki hai. Education ke, humare khandaan ke values tum jaanti nahi ya phir you were just joking...hmmm"
"Nahi Daadima ...mein toh bas itna keh rahi thi ki if she wants ok otherwise there is now no need for her to study using distance learning...after all now she has support and might of Khuranas behind her"
"Mein khush hoon Naintara...I like studying along with my work..."
"Geet beta jaiye Maan ko bula laiye...aur haan kal ke jitna waqt mat lagaiyega nahi toh aapko hi late hoga"
Daadima chuckled as Geet made a cry baby face but before she could go, she saw Maan walking down the stairs.
An smile adorned her face automatically as she looked down playing with her dupatta. He was looking so handsome in a baby pink shirt teemed with jeans "Hay Babaji...how can a man look good in everything including Pink"
Maan came down just to find Geet looking at floor and his Daadima and Meera sniggering. He literally snatched Anu from Daadima as she pouted and he raised his eyes to ask why they were laughing like this
"Kya kare Beta...Hum toh Geet ke gallon ka colour match kar rahe hain...bilkul aapki shirt ki tarah gulabi gulabi ho raha hai"
Both Meera and Daadima burst out cheerfully as Maan just rolled his eyes and blushed himself.
"Main chalti hoon"Geet just ran away but then came back quickly. She kissed Meera on cheek telling her that she will see her in the evening and then bent to take Daadima's blessings who just embraced her. Then she turned to kiss Anu who was still in Maan's right arm. Only after she had bent and placed the kiss on her cheek did she realise how intimate the gesture looked and she blushed even redder. Her eyes met his and it almost felt as if he kissed her silently...caressing her gently with his eyes. Accepting his gesture quietly by biting corner of her lips, she walked away without a word.

hum chup hain ki dil sun rahe hain
Dhadakanon ko aahaton ko
Saansein ruk si gai hain
Daadima took Anu and nudged Maan "Jaiye unhein gate tak toh chod aayiye...itni door milne aayi hain aapse aur janab ka khud bhi man kar raha hai...humein sab pata hai"
Maan was embarrassed but spending time with Geet was more important to him and he walked away behind her. Even he didn't know how he, someone who prided in controlling his emotions and desires so well could be so impatient and eager to just spend two minutes...just to send her off and say her a bye.
But he did indeed found it imperative and hastily caught up with her in the same corridor which was probably now a testament to their every day eagerness to meet, their heartfelt parting and dreams of seeing each other again next day.
"Class mein jaake text kar dena...khayal rakhna. Last few weeks se mere accident ki wajah se you have not concentrated on your studies. Dhyan se padhna...hmmm"
"Mera man nahi hai..."
That is all she could say softly. It was first day off since they have been officially together and she just wanted to spend her entire day around him...for him
Maan saw her sad face and turned her around.
"I will be with you only...and we will have much more time to spend when I am able to drive. But this is also important na...so for me...go and attend your classes and I will wait for you to come back running in my arms."
She just nodded silently and then hugged him. Kissing on his cheek somehow this bye was even worse then the bye in the night.
Din unke saath bitakar raat to hum kaat lete hain
Par jab seher mein woh saath na ho to kadam ruk se jaate hain
She kept on looking behind and at him till she stepped out of the house with silence speaking louder than words.
Maan looked anxiously at his phone at the "ting" indicating a new text message. Meera smiled seeing her daughter cuddle into her bade pa as Daadima discussed with her on her new school uniform. Even she could see the excitement in her jiju's eyes and realised text was probably from her di.
"Teacher is going to come in few minutes. I am missing you. Aapne medicine to le li after having your breakfast?"
Maan grinned walking away with Anu leaving Meera behind with Daadima
"Yes malika-e-maan, aapka hokum sar ankhon pe. Missing you Jaan...I need my Mishty soon...but for now concentrate on class and come home...waiting for you"
Geet blushed and with shaking hands typed the next message "Mishty also missing someone who pampers her sweetness truly"
Smiling at her own double meaning words she had hard time concentrating on class while Maan sighed knowing he was a gone case. His innocent Mishty knew exactly how to make him restless and panting for her. Controlling his thoughts and desire to chuck doctor's advice to run to her, he showed Anu the various roses in the garden
"Dekha Anu...agar drive kar ke gaya na toh baat bhi nahi kargei gusse mein...MSK bhi ab darne laga hai apni Mishty se..."
Dekho ab duniyaa ko gaur se
Pahle se nai pahle se hasin
hum tumako milanaa tha mil gaye
Kyaa ye aasamaan kaun ye zamin
Hum jo dekhen tumko dekhein
Saansein ruk si gai hain
Soon Anu got fidgety and wanted her mom back so Maan walked back inside...
"Namaste Maaji
Maaji bura mat maniyega...lekin hum bhi is ghar ke sadasya hain. You have taken such a big decision and didn't even feel important to involve us. Well, you may never accept me but fact is that I am very worried about this house and consider Maan and you as my family.
Jo bhi ho, I don't think you have taken a right decision for Maan. You are marrying him to a widow? I do not believe in old traditions etc but still. How do you think Maan will stay happy with someone who has so much emotional baggage and such a past? I was horrified when Dev explained me the situation. Why are you putting my son's life at stake? Krishna may have died but still I have some responsibilities towards Maan beta as well. Why are you saddling him with such a life partner who has nothing to offer him...he doesn't deserve these second hand goods...
You should have told me if you were so interested in marrying him. I would have found a girl from a good family...someone who was worthy of him and not this gaonwali widhwa...
Kahan humari class aur kahan uski...aur chodiye woh sab...kal ko kya woh Maan ko woh pyaar de payegi jo ek ladki apne pehle pati ko deti hai...
Fact is that Maan is and will always remain a second man in her life...chahe aapko acha lage ya bura...hum jo keh rahe hain woh sach hain...
Hum unki sauteli Maa hain and he doesn't respect me but aap toh unki sagi hain...then why this behaviour with your own grandson and then world raises finger at me"
Maan's whole body fumed in ager hearing venom against Geet from yet another person in his own house and in front of his own Daadima.
"Bas Mrs. Khurana...aap shayad bhul rahi hain that you are talking to my grandmother. I have not given right to you to interfere in my life and take decisions on my behalf. My grandma is very much capable of doing that...samjhi aap"
Pammi was flustered as she saw Maan entering angrily but she knew how to sugar coat her words and say it clearly.
"Maan bete...aap humein galat samjh rahe hain. I know that you don't respect me and that is why I am still Mrs. Khurana to you but your own mother made me your mom. I also do not want to interfere in your life but how can a mother stay quiet when she knows that something is not going right in her son's life. Geet is not a good choice for you Maan. Today you may think you love her enough but life and marriage is a little bit more than just love. Will you not feel frustrated when she will still remember her past and will not be completely yours? For a woman her first husband is the most important man in her life. And in no respect she is your equal. Na khandaan. na izzat, padhai, rutba...koi ek aisi cheez bataiye jiske hisaab se woh aapki patni ban ne ke layak ho?"
"Krishna ne aapke rishte ko naam zaroor diya hai Parminder but don't pressurise my son to accept you as his mother. Agar itni hi parwah thi aapko toh aap unhein yun chod ke Canada nahi jaati aap"
"Lekin..."
"Jo beet chukka hai uske bare mein baat karne se koi faida nahi. Aur Jahan tak rahi baat Geet ki, aap abhi abhi aayi hain. What do you know about that girl? Hmmm. She is from a very well to do family. Her family are zamindaars and that too from same community as ours. She is quite young and is studying further. She is independent and hard working. I see the same fire in her which I saw in Krishna and in Maan...fire and passion to achieve and succeed in life.
Aur jahan tak rahi baat Maan ka unke second husband hone ka...if Maan does not mind it then who are we to question this fact? It is not like she is having extra marital affair with Maan or cheating on her husband. She is a widower and her husband's family forced her to break all ties with them after her husband died. Eve if she has emotional attachment with her first husband, he is not around to force those emotions to come affront then why should we care about it.
You ask in what way she is acceptable as Maan's wife. I ask how can someone be more perfect? She is loving and simple, belongs to a good family, beautiful and naturally classy, makes my son happy and respects me, she is an achiever and hard working...just because our destiny was not good enough to make Maan meet her before her first husband, you want us to loose this chance also...nahin...aisa nahi hoga. As you said, you may be married to Maan's father but I am his grandma and nothing matters more to me than his happiness."
Paami felt insulted with digs at her past...her heart burned and some of the scorn reflected in her next set of words
"Maaf kariyega Maaji...but this society has made some rules. Aur abhi aapne hi kaha not to drag past then why are you hinting towards my second marriage...
Mein maanti hoon ki ho sakta hai Geet ek achi ladki ho...is baat se mujhe inkaar nahi. But somewhere you have forgotten the difference between home and a NGO. As NGO's administrator you have to balance your empathy and professionalism towards the girls which come and stay in the hostel. I agree that they have gone through a lot and most of them are nice girls but that does not mean that we start making relationships with them. Is duniya mein hazaaron aisi ladkiyaan hai toh kya aap sab ko is ghar ki bahu ya beti bana dengi?
Geet is a nice girl so what. Her own family threw her like trash and you want us to accept this trash as a treasure..."
"Bas...ek shabd aur nahi..."
Maan looked painfully at Meera who stood silently with tears shimmering in her eyes. Maan felt guilty at everything that little girl had to hear about her di and herself.
"Aap shayad saari tameez bhul chuke hain. Just to remind Meera is my sister and I will not allow anyone to insult my own family in my own house. I have not created relationships with thousand of girls in NGO and once again if you knew a little more about Geet, you would have known Mrs. Khuarana that I met her in office not in the hostel. NGO has nothing to do with this and I do not think it is necessary for me to explain my feelings for Geet or Meera to you. Daadima have accepted and you have accepted too that they are nice girls.
You do not need to worry about her relationship with me and I do not want any interference anymore in this matter. If you can understand then you are welcome to participate. If not, you can ignore me and my life.
Daadima, I think I am much better now and hence I have decided that it is time I moved back to outhouse."
"Lekin Maan"
Maan held his hand up to avoid any argument
"I need to start adjusting back in my own space Daadima. Chalo Meera"
With that Maan simply walked away with Meera behind him as Daadima looked on ruing her fate. Her own grandson was so close and yet so far...
Maan and Meera walked silently with Maan feeling very culpable for what Meera had to hear inside. Once they reached outhouse, he finally gathered courage and asked for her forgiveness
"I am sorry Meera. Please believe me that for me this relationship is very pure and I am sorry for the insult you faced just now. It is my shortcoming that I am not able to save you and Geet from such vicious words."
Meera looked at the man who looked resigned and sad.
She sighed and wiping her tears beamed her full smile at him
"You know jeejs...you are so sweet and cute sometimes."
"Hunnn"
Meera laughed and held his hands
"Jeejs I did feel bad but not only for myself but for you too. Why are you saying sorry and those words were targeted not only on me and Di but on your choice also na...and please stop worrying. Di told me yesterday night a little about your insecurities. But not only you we also consider you as our own and if you think such words can hurt us and take us away from you, then you are wrong. Aisa nahi hoga...koi farak nahi padta jab tak hum saath hain"
Maan smiled slightly hearing Meera's words
"Bahut jaldi mature ho agyi ho tum Meera. And Geet...sab kuch share karti hai woh tumhare saath...hmmm"
"Don't be jealous jeejs...she didn't tell me everything...just that you were worried about her going away while she was sleeping peacefully. But woh baat alag hai ki unke laal laal gaal bata rahe the that there is a lot she didn't tell me."
Maan laughed out loud finally with all tension dissipating from the air "Badmaash..."
Meanwhile, in the college, as the day progressed need to be in his arms and feel his lips on her burned Geet. Staying away from him had become the biggest hurdle of her life and every moment felt like eternity without him. By the time she reached mansion, her every pore just wanted to be with him...in front of him. (Maan had called and asked driver to get Geet to outhouse directly)
Unse dur rehna yuon jaan lewa ho jayega socha na tha
Pyar mein yeh dilkul paagal sa ho jayega socha na tha
Raat unke sapno mein khoye khoye kaant lete hain
Din unke bin guzarna yuon dushwaar ho jayega socha na tha
As Car pulled into drive way, she almost ran inside. There he was...playing with Anu...nuzzling her tummy with his nose making Anu giggle slightly. Meera was studying something with Daadima. A soft melody of an old Hindi song was flowing through the living area.
The scene in front of her made her eyes burn. Her beautiful family...her very own. It was a vision of her dreams which had become a reality.
Lafzon mein jinako naa kah sake
Aankhon se kahen honthon se sunein
She moved slightly and sound of her anklet caught Maan's ears. He looked up to see her standing at the entrance looking at all of them so lovingly. He picked up Anu and walked towards her. She looked down not able to meet his intense eyes when he leaned and whispered
"hum sab aapke hi hain..."
He understood her so well...she was awed...he was like a part of herself...itna pyaar...itni mohabbat...jaise har pal sirf woh yeh sochte hon ki woh kya sochti hai...
Kushboo ke saaye mein baith ke
Phool ham chunein kvaab ham bunein
Isake aage kuchh naa sochen
Saansein ruk si gai hain
Hum jo dekhen tumko dekhein
Saansein ruk si gai hain
Maan held her by shoulder and walked in proudly. Daadima smiled seeing her walking in together with Maan and Anu...for her it was a figment of the enchanting future she has started seeing now...
Daadima enquired about her day and soon everybody got busy talking and catching up. Maan and Geet stole glances at each other as others milled around them. Dinner happened, games happened, talks happened but two souls were lost in each others eyes, talking and chatting with each other, in their own world. It was like they had their own private connection which Daadima and Meera could feel but not participate in.
hum chup hain ki dil sun rahe hain
Dhadakanon ko aahaton ko
Saansein ruk si gai hain
Soon it was night and time to go. Though Maan and Geet did not get any alone time but their heart were content by being there with each other...in front of each other. Their silent talks had given them enough solace to dream about each other and a beautiful feature. Lost in their love they bade good night as Geet and Meera went back to hostel for the night.
