Pavitra Rishta Written Update 5th November 2013
Mumbai road
Episode starts with Purvi's accident. Shes lying unconscious on the road, people are rushing to help her, someone is telling others to call the ambulance.
Arjun's car drives by, a guy stops him and asks him to help with the accident victim. Arjun stops and gets out of the car and looks at the crowd but cannot see Purvi.
The people surrounding Purvi pick her up and carry her to Arjun's car, placing her on the backseat. A lady gets in with her and supports her head on her lap.
Arjun gets into the driver's seat and drives off, Purvi is lying on the woman's lap, Arjun cannot see her. Arjun is calling someone on his mobile.
Arjun comes home, presumably after dropping off Purvi at the hospital without looking at her!😕
Tina, the housekeeper's granddaughter comes running to her, asks him, Arjun Baba, where were you? I have been waiting for you! What happened to you? How did u get hurt? (Arjun has the sticking plaster on his forehead)
Arjun tells her its nothing, there was a poor lady who had an accident so he took her to the hospital.
Tina calls her grandma and tells her, Look Dadi, Arjun Baba got hurt!
The housekeeper comes running and asks Arjun how did he get hurt? Arjun says at the hotel he got a slight injury...its just a minor scratch and tells her not to worry.
The housekeeper says she will get haldi milk for him. Tina complains, Papa u always run to help others and never take care of yourself! Its not good to be so careless! I wont talk to you!
Tina gets angry, Arjun pacifies her, and says hes sorry. He says if she gets angry at him, his wound will hurt even more.
Tina makes him promise that he will be careful and take care of himself in future.

Ankita's home
Prashant comes home and asks why is the house so quiet? He tells the kids that he will make them happy, theres good news, they will go for Kulfi...
Sonu and Pranav rejoice to hear that!
Ankita is in the kitchen, she looks at Prashant who tells her not to worry, he got his salary as it was his last day at work. So they all deserve a Kulfi party.
Ankita tells him to take the others for kulfi, she cannot come. She has too much to do and also make preparations for office tomorrow.
Mansi also says she has a lot to study, assignments to complete so she cannot go with half a mood.
Prashant complains he had thought they would all go together.
Ankita tells him to take Sonu and Pranav ...Prashant says it wont be that much fun but we will bring kulfis for u in parcels.
He lifts Sonu and leaves with the 2 kids.

Purvi at the Hospital
Doctor is telling her that her injuries are quite deep so she will have to take care.
Purvi is lying in the bed, her chin injuries are clearly visible.
She tries to say something, the Lady Doc stops her, Please don't try to talk, ur chin is badly injured, if u talk too much the wound might get worse. You will have to talk in sign language for some days. I am here, do u know anyone here, through whom we can inform ur family? Its our responsibility to tell ur family abt ur medical condition. As of now we only know ur name, we found that from ur ID card. Whom can we contact?
Just then Purvi's mobile rings. Doctor looks at the mobile and says its ur Aayi's call.
Purvi signals to doc to give her something to write on. Doc gives her a notepad and pen.
Doc asks Archu on speakerphone if she wants to talk to Purvi Deshmukh? Archu gets worried and asks where is she?
Purvi signals to doc not to tell Ayi abt her condition. Doc tells Archu that Purvi left from here..
Archu asks where did she go? She was supposed to call me after reaching India, why didn't she call me yet?
Purvi writes "meeting" on the notepad, shows it to doc who tells Archu that Purvi is in a meeting.
Archu asks, Meeting? She started working as soon as she reached!
Doc tells Archu the meeting was urgent so she had to leave.
Archu says alright, please tell her to talk to me once. But can u tell me one thing, why didn't she take her phone along?
Purvi writes on the pad " not allowed"
Doc tells Archu cell phones are not allowed in that meeting.
Archu says, Okay, tell her to call me... doc says okay and hangs up. She takes the pad and pen from Purvi and leaves. Purvi sighs and rests in hospital bed.

Ankita's home
Shashank comes in and calls Mansi, then calls Ankita...nobody replies so he goes outside to the balcony where Ankita is standing. She looks at him and speaks his name.
Shashank asks her where has she been, shes not answering his calls, she didn't come to meet him yesterday, he had been waiting for her...and she came after he had left. What was going on?
Ankita says she had told him she had too much work at the office so she couldn't make it.
Shanky asks, what abt this morning? Ankita tells him she went to work early this morning.
Shashank holds her hand and says, Ever since my parents came here and met you, you have been behaving strangely. What is going on?
Ankita tells him, what is wrong? Everything is fine! Shanky asks her why is she avoiding him?
She looks nervous, then tells him, Shashank, I thought abt this a lot! The situation at home, looking at that I don't think I can get married in the next 10 years!
Shashank says, Ankita, again ur saying the same thing? I have told you I will take all the responsibilities of ur family alongwith you!
Ankita suddenly bursts out angrily, Why will u take my burden? This is my home, my family, let me take care of it!
Shanky asks her what are u saying? Where is this yours and mine coming between the 2 of us?
Ankita tells him, Please Shashank! Please try to understand what Im saying! Youre my best friend, I want to see u happy! I want u to be settled in life! And that's why Im telling u to stop dreaming of getting married to me! I know what I have to do...
Shanky asks What? She tells him, I want you to get married to Mansi!
Shashank looks shocked, stares at her in disbelief. Anki says, Yes Shashank, I want u to marry Mansi, shes educated, beautiful, shes perfect for ur family! And ur parents really liked her a lot! And u know something special? She likes you a lot!
Shashank looks angry, How did u know? Did Ayi tell u something?
Ankita says, don't try to change the topic! Im just telling u to get married to Mansi, just listen to my request, I don't want anything else!
Shashank looks angry and disgusted and he walks out of the house!
Ankita calls after him repeatedly but he rides off on his scooter.
Its raining outside, Ankita stands on the balcony and cries, remembering Shashank taking her to the temple, telling her he wanted her to meet Bappa...to tell Him that this is the girl who runs away from Bappa and from me...
Shashank riding his scooter in the rain and remembering temple scenes...exchanging glances through the kitchen window at home, the table fan scene...

Ankita remembers Shanky telling Prashant that after marriage, he wants to take care of whole family, not just Ankita...Shanky saying he will bring his parents to meet her, Mansi telling her that she loves Shashank...Shanky's mom telling her she liked Mansi a lot, shes so simple and sanskari...she wants such a bahu for her son!
Shashank stopped his scooter and getting wet in the rain, remembering Ankita telling him to marry Mansi..shes perfect for ur home, ur parents like her a lot...and the most special thing is she loves you...
Shashank turns his scooter around and goes back to Ankita's house. He marches in and yells Mansi's name, calling her loudly. Mansi comes running out, he grabs her hand and says, Come with me!
Mansi asks, Where?
Shanky tells her, we are getting married! Right now!
Ankita is stunned! Mansi says, But Sir...
Shashank says, I have talked to my parents, they like u a lot! And ur a good girl, simple, beautiful, educated, and the best thing is you like me too, right?
Mansi smiles shyly, But Sir, like this?
Shanky says, Yes, we will get married sooner or later, then why not today? What happened? Everything happening too fast? Okay, no problem, we will get married with full pomp and ceremony, band baja baraat, feast, grand celebration! After all its Ankita's sister's wedding! It shd be memorable! Right, Ankita?
Ankita looks disturbed, Shanky continues to Mansi, But before that I want to tell u something! Its important for u to know that! Its abt ur sister!
Mansi asks in surprise, About Tayi?
Shashank tells her, Ankita and I have liked each other... For last 2 years, we have been planning to get married!
Mansi looks shocked and hurt.
Shanky continues, But we couldn't get married because Ankita could not ignore her responsibilities! Prashant's job, ur marriage, the kids' education, she wanted to complete all this before thinking abt her own life! I listened to her words, and respected her feelings! And waited for her for 2 yrs without complaining!
Mansi looks at Ankita in shock and disbelief, shes crying! Ankita looks away from her accusing glances.
Shanky says, the other day when my parents came to see her, she got held up at the office, her Boss gave her extra work, she didn't want to lose her job so she stayed back and got delayed. Because she cannot afford to lose her job! Even that day she didn't think abt herself but abt you all...she always does like this! When u told her u like me, she was ready to leave me for ur sake! This is what separates her from the rest of the world! And this is why I love her!
Mansi is crying, looking at Ankita with shock.
Shashank says, I waited for her for 2 yrs because I love her! Manu, your happiness lies with me, my happiness is with Ankita! But my parents like you! That's why Im ready to marry you! Come!
Shashank pulls at her hand but Mansi pulls it away. She shakes her head, crying, says, I cannot marry you!
Shanky asks why? Mansi says, Tayi likes you! And shes not marrying u only for my sake! How can I marry you?
Shashank tells Ankita, Now even ur sister wont marry me! Because she knows u like me! Mansi, just like u wanted to marry me, I cannot marry anyone else but Ankita! Even if I am left alone all my life!
Shashank lifts his finger at Ankita: And u Ankita, listen to me carefully! If u don't want to marry me then don't! but I will decide what I have to do, not you, okay? Not this time! You want to be great, then be that! But not by sacrificing me! If you think Im the best choice for Mansi, then ur wrong, because I will never be able to make her happy!
Shashank leaves the house angrily. Ankita and Mansi both look on tearfully. Mansi looks at Ankita with tearful accusation and leaves the room. Ankita cries.

Canada
Archana is waiting for Purvi's call, shes wondering aloud why Purvi is not calling: She had said she will call as soon as she reaches India...this girl started working at once! Nobody is answering her phone either. At least I would know where she is and how she is...
Archu tries her number again but no response, she looks worried and upset. She wonders aloud if she shd talk to Arjun or not...what can she do...shes going to call Arjun when Pari walks in, goes to her and asks if it was Ayi on the phone?
Pari also says shes been trying to call her Ayi but shes not answering.
Pari frets, Ayi must be upset with me, naa...when she was leaving from here, I didn't talk to her properly, maybe that's why...
Archana says, are u crazy? How long can she be upset with u? She must have forgotten all that by now!
Pari asks, then why isn't she answering my calls?
Archu says, shes not answering my calls either, Im trying since when..
Pari tells her, Aaji, please inform me when u talk to Ayi...
Archu agrees, Definitely. Pari leaves.
Archana calls Arjun's house. Tina picks it up and says Hello. Archu asks her if she can speak with Arjun?
Tina says, Ek minute! She calls Arjun, Papa! Papa!
Archu is shocked and upset to hear Papa...Tina tells Archu, Papa went to freshen up, if she leaves a message she will pass it on...
Archu asks her, Are u Arjun's daughter? Tina says, Yes...
Arjun is coming down the stairs. Archu tells Tina, Im Archana Deshmukh, do u know me?
Arjun comes to Tina and asks who is calling? Tina says, Its some Archana Deshmukh!
Arjun takes the phone at once and talks to Archu...Ayi? How are you? How is Baba? How are the rest of the family?
Archu replies rather coldly, Everyone is fine, Arjun! I needed something from u so I called up...
Arjun asks her to tell, she asks him, Do u know where Purvi is? She was supposed to call me after reaching Mumbai but she didn't call me yet...
Arjun is stunned, he asks, Purvi is in Mumbai?
Archu says, Yes Arjun, why are u asking like that? She was supposed to meet u then why are u asking?
Arjun tells her he didn't know Purvi was in India and he was learning this only now when shes telling him! Purvi didn't call him and he didn't know abt this!
Archu says, But Arjun, when she left Canada, she said shes going there to do some business deal with you! But ur saying u didn't meet her, how is that possible? And when I called a little earlier, somebody picked up the phone and said shes in a meeting...
Arjun tells archana, Yes Ayi we were supposed to have a business deal but Purvi herself cancelled it so I felt that ...but she came to India and she didn't call me?
Archu gets really worried, If she didn't meet you, then where could she have gone? Arjun, what shd I do? Whom shd I ask? Arjun if u find out anything abt her, please call me at once! I don't know anyone there who can help me find her, Arjun please help me..
Arjun pacifies her, Ayi, please don't worry, I will find where she is...I will call and let you know!
Arjun hangs up and wonders, Purvi is in India?
He calls Purvi's mobile but no response, he says, Purvi, come on pick up the phone! Where are you? He tries again...
Then suddenly he remembers seeing the lady who looked like Purvi from side angle at the Hotel Reception desk, then her leaving with bellboy and luggage towards her room...

Next morning at Ankita's house
Mansi is in the kitchen. She packs tiffins for the kids and goes to bedroom where Prashant is making the younger kids ready for school. She tells him to hurry up or else the kids will miss their school bus. She packs the tiffin boxes in kids backpacks.Ankita comes in looking at the others getting ready, Mansi tells Sonu to study properly at school and not be naughty, she tells Pranav to take his tiffin.
The kids say Bye to their Tayi and leave with Prashant. Mansi cleans up the house, Ankita looks at her, she goes near and stops her.
She says, Manu, I feel happy to see that my little sister has grown up and she can understand matters. Now I think maybe I shd get married! You've become so mature, ur taking all the responsibilities, then I don't have to worry abt anything! Except for one thing!
Ankita shows the torn up photo of Shashank that Mansi had destroyed.
Anita asks Mansi, You want me to marry Shashank? Then what abt ur love? Manu, look at me! Im telling the truth, Shashank is my best friend, we like each other a lot, but as far as love is concerned, when he asked me to marry him, I felt it was right! But you love him! What abt ur wishes?
Mansi says, My wishes? You worry abt my wishes, but what abt ur wishes? You and Shashank love each other for 2 yrs, want to marry each other and in just one moment, u broke off all ties with him? For whom? For ur sister! Tayi, u know what ur problem is? You feel ur the oldest, so only u have the right to make all the sacrifices all ur life! To keep us happy, to sacrifice ur own happiness for the sake of ours, is only your job! You want to know naa Tayi? Yes, I had started to love Shashank Sir, that's true, but a bigger truth is that I love you much more than that! You are my sister! Till today u have done so much for us, so many sacrifices...
Ankita tries to stop Mansi, but she says, Tayi let me speak today! Like u want to see us happy, we also want to see u happy! Tayi, end this matter today, and promise me Tayi, that u wont mention this again! You will never talk to me abt Shashank ever again! I don't want Prashant, Pranav or Sonia to ever learn abt this!
Mansi takes the crumpled photo of Shashank from Ankita's hand and throws it in the dustbin.
She comes to Anki and the sisters hug affectionately.
