Chapter 4

"Miss Sakshi, I'll hardly just disappear even if you ignore me," Arjun said coldly.

Enough was enough. She knew he hated her, she had even heard him saying so many things against her. So she was only doing him a favor by not talking with him, then why the hell was he bent on talking with her. She didn't want speak to him at all. She continued to ignore Arjun, and looked towards the door, hoping that Sam or even Mrs Rathore would just drop in. But no one came to her rescue at all, and this time she heard Arjun getting up. She thought that finally he was going away, but instead of his steps taking him to the door, she heard the steps approaching her.

She heard the steps stop when he was standing right next to her, but still she continued to look down, ignoring him.

Arjun was staring angrily at the bent head in front of him, he didn't understand why she was ignoring him this much. Did she really think so highly of herself that she was ignoring him.

When he couldn't bear this insult anymore, Arjun put his hand on her chair and leant down so that his head was on the same level as hers. He looked at her profile, but still she wasn't looking at her. He wondered what it would take to get her attention, but then chided himself for even giving her so much time. But he had to talk with her. He hadn't liked her sad and painful face some time ago. Why should he even care, this he didn't know.

He was standing very close to her now, she could feel his breaths on her right ear. Her hands were trembling under the table, and she didn't know what to do now. She had hoped that he'd go away, instead he was standing so close to her. Finally realizing that no one was going to come and save her, nor he was going to go away, she turned her eyes and looked straight in his eyes. Too late she realized that it was the biggest mistake of all. She could feel herself drowning in those intense eyes. She just blushed right then, for no reason. And she could see that those eyes hadn't even missed her red cheeks at all. She lowered her eyes, no longer being able to look at him, but then her eyes fell on his lips. She saw him smirking and this triggered an anger in her.

First he insulted her, then he intimidated her, and finally he was making her blush and laughing at her. Probably he must be thinking she's fallen for him. She raised back her eyes, and this time there was anger in her look.

Seeing the anger in her eyes, this made Arjun a bit confused. Since he had met Miss Sakshi, different emotions have been visible on her face. She was a puzzle for him. He never understood why she was sad, why she even blushed and now why she was angry. He guessed he'd probably go crazy if he even tried to understand her. He stood back and said, "I'm still waiting for an answer!"

"An answer? What answer?" Sakshi replied acting as if she didn't understand what he meant.

"Miss Sakshi, you may love playing games, but I neither have the time nor wish to waste my time in such things!" Arjun said a bit coldly, "Why were you crying?"

"Well no one asked you to waste any time on me! You can go away for all I care," Sakshi said a bit hurt at his initial words.

"Maybe I should leave," Arjun said, "it's pointless talking with you!" and then turning away he left her alone seething with anger.

Sakshi stared at her uneaten toast, and then raising a fork, she literally murdered the toast, hoping Arjun was in place of that toast. Why was he so much against her? She felt he wanted nothing more than to throw her out of this house. What was worst was that she, Sakshi, who never was angry at people, was continuously being provoked by him.

And least of all, she hadn't blushed so much in her life, since she's been doing whenever he was near. She decided that for her sanity and self-respect, it was better she just leave from here as soon as possible. But first she had to look for Sam and tell him her decision. She got up and left the dining room, but since she didn't know much about the house, she stood a bit lost not knowing where to go and where to look for Sam. She heard a door being opened and turning she saw Arjun coming out with some files in his hands. He looked very busy and hurried, however even he couldn't fail to see Sakshi standing like a lost kid in front of him.

"Do you need anything?" he felt compelled to ask.

"No I don't need anything," Sakshi said arrogantly, not wanting to ask him to help her at all.

Arjun barely controlled his temper at her words, "Then what are you doing here? Standing and looking around you? Trying to gauge the cost of the house and its things are you? Already dreaming that you are the mistress of the house!" His words were said with contempt, but once the words were uttered and seeing the shattered look of Sakshi's face, he immediately felt ashamed of those words.

He saw her eyes filled up, but before he could say anything, Sakshi turned and ran away.

Sakshi just knew she wanted to be away, and then turning away she ran, just ran wherever she could. She saw a door, and opening it she continued to run, all the while hearing Arjun call her name. But she didn't want to listen more to him. Due to the tears, she didn't see Sam coming and crashed directly into him.

"Sakshi what happened?" Sam was saying holding her arms. Sam looked up and saw Arjun coming behind Sakshi. Sam no longer needed any words, his own mind added all the clues, first Sakshi's swollen eyes, her face on the stairs this morning, and now this. He pulled her in his arms, and rested her head on his shoulders. He patted her back gently. Then he turned his furious eyes at Arjun.

"Why don't you ever mind your own business?!" Sam said angrily,"Just how much will you do?! Isn't it enough after what happened last year! I forgave you for everything, but still you'll never change I guess!"

"Sam, it's now what you are thinking. I," Arjun tried to say, but Sam stopped him.

"I don't give a damn what you think and say! Did you think you could run her off like you tried before! Did you try the same thing as you did with Ania! God you are disgusting!" Sam said.
