| The electronics major Sansui announced their first television awards at a press conference held at the Chamber Hall, The Orchid Hotel. The award function will be held at the Andheri Sports Complex on the 10 Mar 2007.The awards will be in the format of the Emmys, where the best from the television industry will be honoured. The star attraction of the event will be the host of the evening Shekhar Suman making his debut as a singer. The witty host will be co-hosted by the dazzling Malaika Arora Khan. The panel of judges includes celebrities like Paresh Rawal, Sudhir Mishra, Madhur Bhandarkar and Swaroop Sampat. The popular television celebrities will perform at the show including Rajeev Khandelwal, Shveta Salve and Aamna Shariff, The popular awards and Jury awards in 36 categories that include content, technical, talent and Hindi news channel will be given out. Sansui has been promoting talent and art through various platforms like Sansui Antakshari, Sansui khulja sim sim and Sansui Viewers Choice Movie Awards. Anil Khera CEO and director of Sansui says "As an emerging TV brand, it is our mission to promote the television industry. We hope to emerge with the most coveted recognition an Indian TV artiste, programme or channel can receive". The popular choice awards will be decided by public votes through sms and internet polling. The awards night promises to be an unmatched extravaganza. Kiren Bajla from Molecule Communications, events producer informed, "We have brought together the best technicians and industry talent such as OOMung Kumar for set direction etc. Sansui aims to achieve a high level of content and entertainment in this event".
