Well, I don't want to boast 😉 but I have raised this language issue few times in this forum. But never got any satisfactory answer from anyone. 😕

I wonder how did the Mughals who were basically outsiders used to converse with the local people and the Rajputs?

I have read that Akbar put great importance to the Farsee language as his mother was from Iran and the works in his court used to happen in Farsee.

But how did he interact with his Rajput wives and relatives? Were there translators or did he learn the language? 😕In fact it was not only the Rajputs, but he conquered many other states also. Surely, he can't have learn so many languages.

In case of political affairs, we can assume that translators played a role, but definitely, he did not take the translators to his harem while spending time with his begums who were from different region, caste, and creed. 🤔

One of his son was known to write poems in Hindi but in none of the history books it was written that Akbar himself was proficient in hindi. Actually it is not at all clear in which language he used to converse most of the time.

On a more serious note, I don't know...its not possible to show it all so aptly in the serial...they've emphasised on Hindu vs Urdu very well here and I'm glad about that...😊 language is certainly a plus point in this serial...

Yeah...but i am curious to know how exactly did they use to interact inspite of the language barrier.

I never expected Ekta maiya to explore those nuances.🥱 Her team is dishing out fictional incident one after another in the name of drama - they have not only taken creative liberty to portray Akbar's personal life but they are heavily distorting the political affairs of his time.

Actually, in a serial, they could have shown these aspects if they have done proper research as the serial doesn't have time constraint.
