Arshi FF: What Did I do Wrong? Thread 1

No stars were out tonight. Even the moon was hiding. The night was turning out to be horrible. It was horrible. The first thing you see is happiness. And then, at the next moment, you see saddness, pain and suffering.

Why is this happening? What did I do wrong. Khushi thought, as she was in Arnav's car. She was taken away from her sisters wedding celebration.

"Where are we going?"

No answer.

"Arnavji, where are we going. Where are you taking me?"

"Khushi, will you just shut up".

The ride was silent until Arnav hit the breaks. He got out of the car and went to Khushi's side. He opened the door and yanked her out of the car. The car door shut with a loud bang.

Khushi looked and saw that she was in a temple. What are we doing here?

"Arnavji, what are we doing here at the mandir?"

Arnav and Khushi walked up to the temple.

"Khushi, you are going to marry me. Right here, right now."

"But Arn-"

"No buts. I have to keep an eye on you. I have to make sure you don't hurt the people I love the most."

I thought he loved me.

Before Khushi could say anything, a pandit arrived. The next thing you knew, they were taking their pheres. Arnav lifted the red, gold-plated mangtika, and filled her maang with sindoor. A symbol of their marriage. Next, he tied the mangalsutra around her neck, another symbol of their marriage.

How can this be happening now?

"Arnavji, why did you force this marriage upon me?"

"I told you. I have to keep an eye on you. I don't want you hurting the people I love the most."

Who am I going to hurt?

"That is not the answer I want. I want to know what I did wrong." Khushi said.

" You do not deserve to know. Now shut up and sit in the car. Our family must be wondering where we are."

Khushi's question was left unanswered. She thought about the ways she could have hurt Anjaliji or someone else. Khushi did not have much time to think because Arnav grabbed her arm, brought her to the car and pushed her in. When he got in, they drove off into the darkness.

As Arnav was driving, he thought about earlier today. He wishes he never saw that. But then again, would it have been any better if this thing was still going on?

Arnav followed Khushi. It looked like she was going to the roof. She went past the door and and shut it, but not all the way. Arnav peeked through the crack. At first he thought that she was going to talk to the stars, but then... a man appeared. It was Shyam. His brother-in-law. His Di's husband. Her unfaithful husband. His blood boiled at the sight of them.

How can they be together? He thought to himself.

They were talking so he listened quietly.

"Khushiji, I love you."

"But, but... I don't think this is right."

"Why not? Tell me Khushiji, why not."

"Because...because..."

"Because why!?"

"Because I know that you are married to Anjaliji."

"No...that was a mistake. I can leave her. I just need some money from her and then we can get married. " He got closer and put his hand on her cheek.

"I will leave her for you."

"If that will make things better, go ahead."

That was all Arnav had to hear, so he stormed off

Arnav shook his head, trying to clear the memory of them. He looked over at Khushi, but she was staring out of the window, lost in thought

Khushi was really thinking about what happened with her and Shyam. She hated saying his name She hated the sight of him, but she got engaged to him because of her a Babuji.

She hated him even more when she found out that he was married to someone. That someone being the sister of the man she loved.

She replayed the event in her head.

"No...that was a mistake. I can leave her. I just need some money from her and then we can get married." He got closer and put his hand on her cheek.

"I will leave her for you."

"If that will make things better,go ahead."

"Oh thank God! I thought I lost you forever."

Shyam went in for a hug when Khushi slapped him.

"Besharam aadmi (shameless man) how can you do this? How can you be engaged with another woman when you are already married.?"

"I should have never gotten married to her."

"She should never have married you. Once she finds out that you are a cheater and a liar and a man who is thirsty for money, she will leave you."

Shyam grabbed her shoulder and shook her violently. "If you tell Anjali, then she will fall apart and you don't want that now do you? And there is no use in telling Arnav. He won't believe you because he hates you."

Khushi pushed him away. " No. That is where you are wrong."

Khushi gave him one last glare and walked off to find Arnav, only to be dragged by him and taken to a temple to get married.

Khushi snapped back into reality. She never knew that Shyam was that kind of a man. He doesn't even deserve to be called a man.

But he was right. Arnav wouldn't believe her. He hates her. He only married her to keep and eye on her. But, who could she hurt. This question was eating up inside her. Surely he wasn't there when she was talking to Shyam. She had to find out, and she will get to the bottom of this. She finally stole a glance at Arnav, who had his eyes on the road and his hands tightly holding on to the steering wheel.

A moment later, they were home. Khushi did not want to face the wrath of her and Arnav's family members. Their family members. But she will have to face them, whether she wanted to or not.
