Apoorva Agnihotri happy to be going home

Sat, 2013-11-02 11:46 "

After getting evicted from the Bigg Boss house Saturday night, actor Apoorva Agnihotri said he was just happy to be going home after a long stint on the show.

"It is Diwali. And who wouldn't want to be home on this occasion? I can't say I regret being in Bigg Boss house. It was a learning experience for me, specially since I learnt how to control my temper in an environment were people were constantly losing their temper," Apoorva said with a chuckle, adding that his wife's departure from Bigg Boss was a turning point for him.

"Once my wife Shilpa was evicted, I was lost in there. We both went in together and it was Shilpa's presence in Bigg Boss that convinced me to go in. Once she was out, I was mentally preparing myself to leave at the first opportunity," he said.

Recalling the experience of being on Bigg Boss with all sorts of contestants, Apoorva said: "It was a once in a lifetime experience. Never before and never again! I was determined not to lose my temper, no matter what. I do have a temper problem. But I lose it only when provoked beyond endurance."

Ironically it was Shilpa who lost her cool. "Yes, it did happen once. Shilpa did lose her cool with Armaan Kohli and Asif Azim. We were being pushed around and she couldn't take it. I think Shilpa remembered a situation from a few years back when we were similarly bullied. She retaliated. But neither Shilpa nor I hold any grudges. It was all part of the game. I have no ill feelings towards any of the Bigg Boss inmates. I will probably throw a party for all of them once the show is over."

Any particular friends in there?

Apoorva mentioned Kushal Tandon, Gauhar Khan, Kamya Punjabi and Prityusha Bannerjee as his special friends in Bigg Boss. "Ain't Shilpa just loves Andy. They've become friends for life."

Looking back Apoorva saw the Bigg Boss stint in a dream-like curve.

"I could almost create a screenplay out of the characters and incidents. I was very sure I'd be myself in the Bigg Boss house. I was never acting. And when Shilpa left, I was already writing the screenplay for my exit from Bigg Boss. Now I can't wait to get home," the actor said.

Any immediate plans? "Yup, Shilpa and I will go for a holiday. Where, how, when... I'll let her decide. I always let her take the decisions," he concluded.

Tanishaa should have been evicted from Bigg Boss house: Apurva Agnihotri

Saturday, Nov 2, 2013, 16:44 IST

Followers of Bigg Boss 7 would have seen Apurva Agnihotri trying his best to get nominated and ousted from the house. Having achieved it, Apurva is delighted to be out and celebrating Diwali with his family. "I was feeling trapped and claustrophobic in the house. After Shilpa (his wife) left, I felt I didn't belong," says Apurva, one of the most genial persons in the house. The only person he crossed words with was Asif. "Yes, I did abuse him with bad words, but he earned it. Actually, he is a sweet guy, but he tried my patience," he says with a smile.

He points out that everybody in the house is getting homesick now, the reason small things are being blown out of proportion. "They are losing it now. People are crossing the thin line and getting personal, saying and doing things, they are not supposed to. This will only get worse in the next couple of days. Everybody wants to win, even if the path they choose is unfair," he warns.

Having witnessed Andy and Kushal Tandon's fight, Apurva says Kushal was justified in doing what he did. "If I were in his place, I would have stabbed Andy. What he did was completely wrong," he asserts. He is also not happy about Kushal's ouster. "If Kushal was evicted because he pushed Andy, Tanisha also should have been evicted. She had pushed Kushal thrice and bitter words were exchanged. Why is she still in the house?" he questions.

Ask him who is playing a dirty game and he refuses to name anyone. He, however, is forthcoming about who will be among the finalists. "Kamya (Punjabi) and Gauahar (Khan) are being themselves. They are playing a honest game. If Kushal comes back and my heart says he will, he will also be a strong contender," says the actor. As for Armaan (Kohli) being a bully, Apurva says that initially his behaviour was not up to the mark, "but now he has calmed down".

Any chances of his getting back as a wildcard entrant? "No, I have had enough and I am happy to be with my family," he smiles.

Apurva Agnihotri exits 'Bigg Boss 7'

PTI | 02nd Nov 2013
Mumbai, Nov 2: Actor Apurva Agnihotri became the ninth contestant to get evicted from celebrity reality show 'Bigg Boss' after spending 50 days in the house.
Agnihotri, who had entered the show with wife Shilpa said he was happy to get out of the house as he was missing his family on Diwali.
"I am extremely happy to be home with my mother, wife and my dog. I had started feeling alone after Shilpa left the show and wanted to come out ever since," Apurva told PTI after his exit from the show.
The 'Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin' star did not get into many fights during his stint on the show and he claims it was easy to stay calm even in most difficult situations.
"That's how I am in real life. Things were happening around me but not with me. I am happy to exit the show with my dignity intact which I think was the most important thing. Me and Shilpa had entered the show just for the experience," he added.
In the Salman Khan hosted reality show, 14 celebrity contestants are holed up in a house for three months without any connection from real world with cameras following their every movement.
One of them gets eliminated every week on the basis of audience's vote after a nomination by house members.
