I've also seen local connections work like a charm in these matters. When 20 goons on 10 bikes surround the seniors they start suffering from temporary amnesia.😆 😆 😆

Ragging under limits IMO is good for knowing the decorum of the institutional you are at, gives you a level to tolerance, you really make some good senior friends, to look for you in future, oppurtunity learning some tricks for ragging next year, get to know many girls (as my first task of ragging was to get name/ hobbies of female batch mates😊).

Personally never went beyond asking introduction from juniors.

In your opinion, wht should freshers do? Any precautionary measure recommendation😉?

Keep a medium to low profile for initial few weeks. Let the smartness emerge after 2-3 months, will have plenty of time/oppurtunities to show that. General advise first year in school or college, just don't make friends randomly due to xyz(scared of ragging) reasons. Pick your friends gradually as good company matters long term in one's academics.

Wht is the limit of Ragging? How to deal with it? Many students can't overcome so they find hide-outs, is this the way of dealing with it?

Absolutely no tolerance to physical ragging, verbal just see when your threshold reached. Deal with it with ignorance and politely putting your points. Face it, just the begining of struggle.

Does it effect the confidence of a newcomer?

Depends on person to person, IMO it should not as most already know what to expect.

Should there be any kind of law or restriction which effectively controls ragging?

Yes, to keep a check on it.Most school/colleges already have laws against ragging.

Ragging is fine as long as u stick to the limits... As a fresher I hated being ragged... but later realised it helps u break the ice with ur seniors... 😛 😉 😃
