Actor Rakshanda Khan on why she didn't participate in 'Bigg Boss' and waiting for Mr Right.
Do you feel restricted as an actor doing the saas bahu fare?
I consider myself lucky instead because even in this scenario I've played a variety of roles-the black magic woman in 'Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat', a business person in 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin', the bone of contention in 'Kasamh Se' (Zee) and the quintessential bahu in 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' (Star Plus). But yes, I'd be lying if I said that I am completely satisfied as an actor. There's still a lot to achieve.
Would you be a part of a reality show like 'Bigg Boss'?
I am a difficult person to live with. My family can bear with me because I'm out most of the waking hours. If I had to do such a show then the other contestants would be indicted for my murder at the end of it (laughs). I have extreme mood swings. I hate anyone encroaching on my privacy. I may come across as being very social but a few hours with me and I can turn a person off. I was offered this show but I refused it for this very reason.
Did you watch it?
Oh yes! I think Rahul deserved to win. He is married to my friend Rajlaxmi. So, I know him personally. And he wasn't faking it when he came across as being unaffected by all that was happening around him.
Did you ever want to do films?
Though I am a film buff, I never had the burning desire to make it in films. There were offers even during my modelling days. But I am just happy being where I am.
Why is Mr Right still eluding you?
I want to ask the bachelors this question. My male friends say that I am 'very intimidating' though they admit I'm not so once they know me well. I don't believe in the concept of Mr Right because I am not perfect either. But fidelity is a must for me. He should also have loads of patience to bear with me. I'm not looking for a Brad Pitt or a rich man but he can't be earning Rs 1500 a month. I have my list ready, so where is he?
