Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Oct. 14, 2025 Episode Discussion Thread
Juhi, sorry for the inordinate delay in commenting… real life has an unpleasant way of intruding!
The banner is beautiful and, as you've said, totally apt for this update!
Awww, what I wanted came true: Arnav mesmerized by Khushi's innocence and vulnerable look! Although the look in her eyes was anything but… a fuming Khushi is always a sight for sore eyes! Can't believe how foolhardy Arnav is being and seemingly uncaring of Khushi's reputation by visiting her at home. The whole of the first part was so intense and so full of a gamut of emotions that pinpointing just one or two moments would devalue the whole, but I can't help doing that … I've never been so invested emotionally in an update as I was in part 10.1! It felt like I was actually feeling all that confusion, self-condemnation, pain and despair roiling through both Khushi and Arnav. Bringing all those latent emotions out into the open and sharing it, without running away from the torment of trying to sweep it under the carpet is the right decision… only thus will they heal and manage to start anew. Flirting with her would never have worked in the circumstances whereas a heart-to-heart talk did! Arnav's near-heartbreak when he thinks she doesn't want to take a chance on having a relationship with him and his immense relief when she shares the facts of the NK-Lavanya wedding are quite touching. Arnav's realisation that he wasn't the only one to suffer helped him to let go off the past, to some extent. A description that rips one's heart apart: She looked up at him, and he caught his breath at the glimpse of hell in her eyes. It's never going to be enough, is it? What I've done is too big...the sin is too great...no punishment if ever enough, because nothing will change the past!" "I hate myself for what I did. How can I allow someone else to..." Imagine having to live with that guilt for the rest of your life! Sheer agony to read this: She lost all control then, her silent tears transforming into whimpers of pain...and screams of anguish. She beat her hands on the ground, then finally covered her face with them. And the tears continued unabated… How could he hate someone, punish someone whose entire life was a punishment? So true! No punishment he could ever think up can come close to the guilt and remorse tearing through her with no signs of respite! The coalition has fallen through, so if the government loses the no-confidence motion, it's most likely that Arnav would lose his post… though that might smoothen the way for his return to USA, where will that leave his budding relationship with Khushi?
Finally, he has accepted the fact that Anjali is gone and NK has moved on and that all were in one way or another responsible for the tragedy ten years ago, so if blame is to be apportioned it should be done so equally… sensible of Khushi to reveal the truth of her budding relationship with Arnav to her happy… she knows first hand the devastation that follows on hiding it from them… the NK-Khushi convo was very moving, especially NK supporting her but not hiding his worry for her and distrust of Arnav. Arnav's and Khushi's passion on the rain scorches the page! My respect for him grew when he pulls back on realising that they could have been caught in a compromising situation leading to devastating consequences, especially for her.
Both still need time to sort out their feelings… neither is aware enough, as yet, to give it a name! Khushi mesmerised by Arnav's bare upper body is understandable, especially as she had deprived herself for so long. Arnav's gentle teasing-cum-warning is endearing: "If you continue to stare at me like that, I won't be responsible for the consequences." The icing on the cake is that he's not immune to her, either! This was too important...she was too important for him to jeopardize their new-found understanding… wish there were more men like him who want a more meaningful relationship than merely a physical one. That he gifted her his Di's bangles means so much… a true token of forgiveness! Khushi's question about how he became such an expert kisser and his immediate reaction was hilarious… Arnav's honesty is refreshing. A beautiful admission: "I want everything from you, Khushi. Everything you are willing to give me, everything you are willing to share. And that's what you will get in return." That this Arnav isn't sure of himself when it comes to love just adds to his charm! He would ask Khushi if she had any spare buttons, and then he could try and sew one back on… love that he didn't even think of asking her to do it for him… now that's the kind of man one can take home to mother, and if he knows cooking that's the cherry on top!
NK jumping to conclusions is to be expected but Arnav is to be commended for calmly trying to defuse the situation! NK's questions about Arnav's future plans are very pertinent and the latter living for the present is not the right way to go about dealing with such a complicated relationship and all it entails!
Such an innocuous piece of clothing as a dupatta has a knack for drawing people together: looks like both Akash and Payal are hooked… seems like being at loggerheads is the first step toward forging a meaningful relationship!
"My ambitions have taken a huge toll on this family...but not anymore. Your lives, your happiness is more important to me than anything else." Thank god this realisation has finally dawned on Nani! Her offer of help to him should he ever need it was touching, as was his embracing his grandma. Khushi's fears and doubts and Arnav's angers are justified because they are all real problems that both have stated… forcing one or the other to give up their beliefs or interests won't be right… Arnav is right in leaving the decision to Khushi as to whether she wants to fight for their relationship as he is willing to do! Their yearning for each other during these seven days has been very beautifully etched.
The mother-daughter convo was moving and long overdue… her Amma advising her to fight for what she wants and to find a middle ground is the best advice by far! It prompted Khushi to explore new avenues and also to give their relationship another chance, yippee! More often than not, mothers do know best!
