All of you represent the viewpoints and cultures and beliefs of various different parts of the world.
Hence i am asking you the reason why females are getting murdered and why the society is so cowardly and mum about this horror!

and any possible long term/short term solution !

In any culture, ultimately a child is a long-term investment. They are nurtured and educated in the hopes that they'd be pillars of strength and support for the parents when they are aged. Now, in India, however, a lot of people tend to think that a daughter cannot serve that purpose. Instead they think she's basically a liability. That's why they kill her in the mother's womb. In the western culture, parents let their sons and daughters on their own when they come of age but here, a part of the parents expects the sons to stay with them forever and support them. Daughters as it is are 'supposed to belong to another household'. Crap lot of shit, I know. But that's the reason in my opinion.

They don't fear the law or punishment. Sadly, the only way is to make people understand that the girl child is a human being, not the confirmation of the fact that they would be weighed down by unnecessary responsibility. That could take decades.

1)Self interest

A parent does not look after a child only because he/she is supposed to- but also when the child will grow and the parent will become old,the child will look after him. In our society the girl will not stay with the parent during their old age. So the boy wins the race.

2) patriarchal society

societies like India, china are patriarchal. A boy has more respect, more freedom and is given greater importance. The boy- raja beta, the girl- a burden until she is married.
So ''having a boy is better as he will carry on the family lineage''. Also long ago girls did not have the right to own property-so a boy is important more precisely a MUST HAVE in the family.

3)money
the most important reason why girls are less wanted.
parents will invest in the girl and at the end she will leave her maiden house and all the parent's hard work and money invested will be gone(gayi bhains paani mein)
even if she is doing a job,it may happen that the inlaws take the money.
food,clothing,education-books,degrees,fees,universities= costly
implying that a girl and a boy will take more or less the same amount of investment,BUT the return on the investment will be higher for the boy.

why return on the ''investment''----------> self interest

the above 3 are reasons why people prefer boys over girls.

As a girl i found all these baseless arguments for female infanticide.
I am my parent's only child- only GIRL
and if they can raise me like a queen(despite not being so well off) WHY CAN'T OTHERS DO THE SAME???

the law is fine as far as punishing the families is concerned, we need better implementation. but as for the med staff, the doctors and nurses and physician's assistants need to face malpractice suits, revoking medical licence, felony charges and a red tag for every hospital found guilty of even ONE case. the only way the tag would be off would be after 10 years if there are no more cases and the record is clean.
more tags= bad for hospital reputation.

as for why it happens: apparently being a man is half the work one needs to become independent. women are worthless things who are more trouble than they are worth. I mean you feed them for 18 years and then they go away. men bring in a slave woman you can order around so there's that.

even though the system is not exactly like this, you are lying to yourself if there isn't atleast some percent of your family who thinks this way. you are doomed (more or less depending on what the percent is).
