Episode 083

But aab mangana chahata hai

A late, lazy evening at home ... All are gathered in the living room, relaxing... And our hard hearted, devoutly unapologetic, egotistical man gets a Basic Lesson number 101 in When and how to maango Mafi ...

The flirty, pleading, cajoling, repentant lover on his knees ... Begging for forgiveness ... Wooing boldly ... Flirting shameless ... Pleading to hear the three words ... The silent, I love you ... and the spoken, Jao maaf kiya ...

Quick on the uptake, our man, from behind his propped up newspaper, spies a valuable tool. A tool to right a wrong and consequently, solve the unease in his chest.

There it was !!! The solution to what has been chewing him since she had left ... Since he had again brought her to tears ... Why does he do that !!! She had been heartbroken ... And all because she had tried to ease his pain ...

Her parents ... She is an orphan too .. Like him ... Why did he not known ... Why had Di never mentioned it ... He would have never said any of the things he did, had he know ... She had been sincere ... She did know what he was going through ...

And now, he is armed with the simplest, the most eloquent of solutions ... A Mafi ... She will have no choice but to forgive him ...

He is a nervous teenager ... Practicing in front of a mirror ... He hedges and he haws ... He bumbles and he stumbles ... He stutters and he mutters ... But the words just stick to his roof of his mouth ... What is it about the word, Lavanya says it on one breath, with such ease ... Sorry Sorry Sorry ...

Sorry ... A self incriminating word ... Involving a verbal admission of wrong doing. He will have to confess ... He will have to plead, beg, atone ... He will have Explain. Explain !!! Why he did, what he did ...

Raizada, Aab kya karogay ??? He never ever has explained his behavior to any one ... But ever since he has met her, that is all he has been trying to do. Not really explaining, but attempting to ... and failing miserably ... This girl has him in such a spin ...

Sorry ... A word as alien on his tongue, as some of the shud hindi words she speaks ... Raizada, saying sorry means ... you said or did something you did not mean to ... Yes, we know, Arnav Singh Raizada always says what he means and means what he says ... Not a word more and not a word less ... But this time you really have said somethings you should not have ...

He had raged at her plenty of times before ... His words harsher ... His language more stinging ... Yet, now is when he feels he needs to apologize ... Why ?? Is it because he has found common ground ... Or because this equalizes them in some way ...

Or perhaps, because he too now knows of the pain she must hide ... He has cloaked his pain in his success ... in his anger ... Buried it deep under his relentless schedule ...

But her ??? What has she done to cope with it ??? He now knows, She must hide it behind her dazzling smile ... Yes ... He has seen her herd it back in the blinks of her large teary eyes ... Break it with the stiffness of her unyielding back ... Flick it away with a the lightness of her gait ... Swallow it with the convulsions of her swan like throat ... Bite it in the trembling of her full lips ... He had seen it all along ... And had not recognized it ... A kindred sprite ...

What seems like a first baby step towards normalcy ... is truly a milestone. His first real step toward her ... and his redemption ...

The door bell rings, she is home ... Aaj toh maafi mang kay hi rahooga ... Zid even in his maafi ... and unfortunately, it is a poor terrified Banwariji who gets a rude reminder that rozi, roti kay liya kaysay kaysay logo say pala padta hai ...

She is late ... Why is no one concerened ??? People, look at the time ... She should have been here a long while ago ... Why wont anyone say anything ??? Maybe he should bring it up ??? Lavanya wants to go on a date ... Perfect !!! Nahin ! Tumhara pass time hi kahan hai ... Voh-ooh Ladki ... aayaygi na ... He tries to be as casual as possible ...

Pam ??? Sim ??? Who T*!!! Please ... Not the evil twins !!! Nahin ... Voh Ladki aati hai na ... Tumhay train karnay kay liya?? Ya Raizada ... Very convincing ... If it weren't for the stutter ... You'd make a brilliant actor ...

Lavanya, focus for once !!! The tube light flickers ... Khushi ? Wow !!! Yes Khushi ... The one and only Khushi ...

Ch ... Ch ... Chutti ? Usay salary kaam karnay ki militi hai ya Chutti laynay ki ... He stutters his disbelief ... Today??? Today !!! Of all days ... She picks today for her chutti !!! When he had gone out of his way to take a day off ... Cancel all his appointments ... Just so that he could see her and beg ... No ... No ... Not beg ... There will be no begging !!! Ask for forgiveness ... No, not even ask ... Just merely tell her he is sorry ... That's all ... This girl has a hidden talent for annoying him ... even without trying ...

He makes two phone calls and both times is met with failure. Once he couldn't bring up the nerve and the other time she had not let him speak ... Kadchi in hand, dupatta tied around her waist, she had ranted at him full speed like a runway train ... A true Jhansi ki rani ... She had admonished him as though he were some road side Romeo with nothing better to do than call strange girls and breathe heavy ...

Both put down the phones ... One at his wits end and the other annoyed ... And then a soft breeze carrying with it his restlessness ... She knows it was him on the phone ... He may not have spoken to her, but she does get his message ...

This had to be one of my favorite episodes. Where Arnav was coming to terms with Khushi being a part of his life and working through the changing emotions in him. All the while, everyone else is oblivious to this.

Do you really think Arnav was virgin ?

I think that even if he did not have any physical thing with Shitty Tal he did have physical relation

with La seeing how comfy was La with ASR in the bedroom scene and he with La and her touch and

kiss as well .

I would love to hear your take

Another question - When did Khushi actually fall in love and when did she realise that she was in love

with ASR and when did ASR actually fell in Love with Khushi attracted yes since beginning but

Falling in love not very sure .

Disclaimer : I hope as i write this i don't sound like a romantic preacher ... but what i write here is IPK script specific ... 😉

What was love for Arnav & Khushi ... when Arnav told his Di after the kidnapping incident that when he married Khushi he did not love her ... what did he actually mean ... He meant that our marriage was not a LOVE MARRIAGE ... it was a marriage made in COMPROMISE ... HATRED .. EGO .. ANGER & whats more ANGST ...

How do u pin point the moment these 2 fell in love .. to me Love crept up on them .. it was there one day living in their hearts ...

lets take Khushi ...

Her first glimpse of Arnav is in the mandir during rakhi when he shows her his CAPABILITY OF LOVE & DEVOTION ... thats the first time her heart says ... heres someone as devoted as i am ... heres someone who loves with the same abandon as i do ... heres someone who can GIVE of himself as much as i can

Her next glimpse is at the mandir once again when she sees this cruel unemotional man taking time out of a busy sked to offer a small girl a smile & reassurance ... was it at that time she fell in love with him ... when she felt how truly SOFT his heart was inside that hard crust he showed the world ...

Or is it when she sees him fight for her in a remote dhaba ... any woman worth her salt will be impressed by a man showing such single minded possessiveness for her ...

Or is it when he clutches her to himself when he says lemme show u what is CHARACTER DHEELA ...... she can feel not only his ANGER but his DESIRE too at that time ... hence the walk into the next room & soft caress on his finger marks on her hands ...

Now lets c Arnav ... for him is it when he sees the girl who will do almost anything for her family ... who is as devoted to her family as he was ... who would take any insult he would dole out just so that she can deliver a happy life for her family

Is it when he sees a woman whose simple gestures of Give can turn the most bitter hearts sweet ... e.g. La

Is it when he sees a woman who can run to the aid of his sister .. who cares to bring a small smile on his sisters face ... just like him

Is it when he sees the female brigade in his house merrily dancing to keep her back & her abandoned hug & love to all despite the insults he doled out to her .. she was willing to be in Shantivan to HELP ... at whatever the cost to her

Is it when he sees a girl who haltingly tries to offer him comfort while she herself was breaking to pieces .. so much so that her soft heart melted his resolve never to say SORRY ... & he unbends enuf to apologise to her

Is it when he sees this strong girl who holds her family together .. crumble in his arms ... the only place she could let her true self be .. show her true emotions ...

Is it when she insists he tell her what the KISS & PAYAL meant to him .. a girl clearly out of her depth , struggling like him with the tumultuous emotions ... heart breaking in pieces coz he is hitched to another ... but STILL is able to SMILE .. & make a special sweet just for him

Well according to me ... LOVE for these 2 was never a moment or a episode .. or a event which happened with fan fare ... from a story point of view .. the makers showed this story as a divine Love story ... a true one line would be ... Devi maiyyah ne inki jodi banayi thi ... how in that case can the maker ever show one moment of REALISATION ... they were meant to be ... SO its up to u as a viewer what u wish to mark as the momentus occasion ... it could be the first day they MET ... cause even then THEY BOTH FELT each others presence ...

It could be at any of the million skirmishes they had in between .. IT could be in that deserted guesthouse .. when she pushes him & he pushes right back ... both fighting strong emotions ... for him that she could have been taken away from him .. she that finally HE CAME TO SAVE HER ...

Did u ever not wonder why the I love you moment in this story .. was so tame even thought this was a LOVE STORY ... why both Arnav & Khushi did not bother asking the other what they felt for the other .. why Arnav never demanded an answer to his I love you Khushi ... cause it was never needed ... their I love you was in each eye lock .. their i Love you was in each Farak Padta hai ... their i love you was in each skirmish ...

A divine love story like this ... the only way the maker could show the love was to show it to the viewer .. that they loved ... there was never a doubt in the mind of u the viewer that they loved ... not in the stormy rainy parking lot .. not in the mandir during teej .. not in the office when she asks him to call LA back home & says her leaving Does not matter to u right & he says yes it does not matter to me ... not during the diwali almost kiss & rejection ... NOR when they first acknowledge their love ... when KHUSHI speaks about her engagement .. there was never a doubt in ur mind the viewer that these 2 loved each other ... but were fighting a losing battle denying it to themselves ..

Now if u want to know about the self realisation of love ... again for Arnav i would think he always knew he liked the girl .. she was someone who " mattered " ... his denial stemmed from the fact that for him LOVE WAS ALL ENCOMPASSING ... when he loved he loved with his whole being ... hence the line he says during the second shaadi ... " bola tha na jee nahi paonga tumhare bina"

But yes if u want to know when he succumbed to the feelings was that day in the poolside .. when she clutches him & cries .. the day she realised Shyam was Anjali's husband ... thats the day Arnav succumbed to his feelings for KHUSHI ..

According to me ... Khushi succumbed to her feelings for Arnav in the hospital when she saw him standing there solid as rock ... & his arms were the only place she could find solace .. thats the day Khushi succumbed to her feelings for Arnav ...

Hence the third hug during the kidnapping track ... is after Arnav asks her ... " THEEK HO TUM " ... it was a culmination of their love story that day ... it was letting down all guards ... it was him OPENLY SHOWING HER HE CARED ... it was her FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGING .. ShE cared & she needed ... & HENCE THE HUG ... the first hug is her realisation .. the second hug is his realisation .. & the third hug is them coming out from hiding their feelings ... or rather denial ...

I am glad that u as a viewer never could pinpoint the moment that these 2 fell in love .. even i cannot .. cause the makers did not intend for ONE SUCH MOMENT ... thats the brilliance of the maker .. GUL & NISSAR .. hats off to 4 lions team 👏

Now for ur other question ... seriously people in this forum actually spent time discussing sexual orientation of Arnav Singh Raizada .. OMG .. thats a different kinda crazy fandom ... well once again i am left scratching my head .. which show did i watch ... Isn't it clear when La says in the beginning itself ... ARNAV & She were in a LIVE IN RELATION ... & she was definitely not his Housekeeper .. so it had to be an affair ... Now since he did not LOVE La .. its a simple deduction what kinda affair they had ... 😳

Actually I was sure that he was not virgin till Shitty tal track came and when Khushi tries to find out whether Arnav was intimate with Shitty or not and asked abt having Jalebi with Shitty LOL then he says that he has that only her and there was several post discussing that Arnav meant he was virgin till he met Khushi ( link attached) and also he tells Khushi that he was not that type of boy

These points made me question Arnav 's virginty .

But I guess he was not virgin and with La he did have physical relation ( La did keep her hand on upper thigh of Arnav this says all .I cheked this scene after seeing its discussion ) but that must be before he met Khushi as after meeting Khushi all he could of was Khushi only .

Ruby - I have a question - why while the consum... scene the sad female version of kyun dard hai Itna ...was being played . Oh God this made me feel as if something bad is going to happen to them .

Another question - I was also wondering as you mentioned in one of the DCR that when Arnav sees Khushi and Shyam together and marries her which brings Khushi closer to Shyam in same house hence chances of them meeting alone and getting closer was more . Why did Arnav take a chance and it wasnt that he was keeping eye on Khushi . He just did not bother.

One more -Anjali on Rakhi day tells Khushi that she will organize brother for her meaning Shyam why did she not say to tie Rakhi to Arnav who was present there and his GF La was also there so no romatic angle could be there between Arnav and Khushi at that time . I always wondered what if that day Anjali had asked Khushi to tie Rakhi to ASR that day how would have Arnav reacted as he was he was already in love with her and aware of her (I know it is stupid question but wherever I see this episode ( I lost count) I always have this question in my mind .

I agree with you Bidz in that I want his experience to have been with any one of the 8 - 10 odd women he names as his girlfriends much later on ... Just to tease Khushi ...

The thought him and La together churns my stomach for one reason only ... That La and Khushi became such good friends ... The thought of that friendship not continuing or continuing in spite of La and ASR's sexual history ... Both choices don't sit well with me ... But I believe that they did do the nasty ... I know, shoot me please ... 😛 Don't mean to upset any impressionable young ones ...

Regarding the Rakhi ...my two cents ... Remember Arnav does all these rituals only to appease his Di ... So she would never put him in such a position where he has to say No ... Their bond is special and he not the kind get Rakhi tied by anyone else ... Remember it takes some convincing by Shaym to tie the raksha dhaga ... Dialogues like wrist band samajh Kay bandy lo ... And if she won't put Arnav in that positin ... She won't even put Aakash there ...
