When the first promo of the drama was out, sprinkling some high expectations and the title song with its amazing composition giving it more potential to capture the viewers' attention and fondness, Asmaano pe hai Likha was somehow most waited Drama of Geo Entertainment Channel which was then losing its viewership due to all the foreign content fiasco.
Asmano Pe Hai Likha directed by Mohsin Raza,scripted by Rabia Razzaque is considered to make a great combination of distinctiveness and class altogether.
Some points...
The title song:- No doubt the title song with its amazing lyrics, composition and vocals attracted some good number of audience who very keenly waited for the first episode to air. As soon as the first promo with the OST was aired it immediately attracted people wishing for some high dose of complete entertainment package.
The drama successfully completes its first five episodes this weekend.
The Cast:- The cast of the drama includes Sheryar Munawar Siddique, Sajjal Ali, Sanam Chaudry, Imad Irfani, Saba Faisal and others.
The Story:- he story is supposed to highlight a journey from strangeness to likeness to love and all the obstacles whish comein between.
The story till now is somehow interesting and a little different from what usually goes on around in the dramas recently. The concept, although light, but has already started gluing audience to the screens. It is to be seen how the writers and directors curve it to shape it perfectly. Even With few loop holes and a little ambiguity the audience wait for Kudsia and Aliyan's chemistry to build up. The role played by Imad Irfani and Sanam Chaudry remains yet to be revealed completely.
Characters:-
Kudsia (Sajjal Ali):- Sajal Ali comes as one gem of an actress when it comes to playing such pliable and frail roles. She is a master in enacting the poor, oppressed and tyrannized one. In my opinion she is the one doing high-quality justice with her character.
Aliyan (Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui):- This is one guy who gets fame for everything but his acting. Even with so many high expectations from the audience Sharyar fails to impress with his acting which needs a lot, and by a lot I mean a lot, of work and effort to be done. He looks very striking attractive as Aliyan but we need to see him act too and in that area he lacks a lot. One of the major drawbacks of the show.
Natasha (Sanam Chaudry):- Another Sara (Humsafer) type character still with major work to be done on her acting skills. Although cute and looking good when paired with Sherayar, Sanam somehow lacks the novelty one demands from a new comer.
Dadi:- The ancient dadi, similar to the ones we find in ordinary Indian shows, I think might have some important role to play as the story proceeds. Although stern and unique in her character she still looks unreal to many. Her acting skills, however, are better then two of the main leads.
Sultan (Aliyan's Dad):- Very poor acting and dialogue delivery. Surprised to see him lack in this area. Someone with more experience and skill should have been put up for this role but since his son (Onscreen) is doing so poorly we can bear with it.
Aliyan's Mohter:- Okay she plays the step mother role but that too with so much make up which makes her look like the odd one out. The newly wedded bride looks simpler then her and the latest episode (Episode Five) in which she had that red dress made her look like she should have been playing Kudsia's role instead.
Natasha's Dad:- Someone with some sane dialogues and excellent delivery. Besides Sajjal he is one guy who does justice with his character. His role in the latest episode was much needed to make Aliyan realize that tying the knot of Nikah with any girl IS A BIG DEAL even if you did it as an adventure to help her family out of the controversy.
Rest of the characters are just okay with their roles.
What I see:- This drama might or might not make it to some level of success but with a major competition from other channels and their shows it might have to face hindrances in its way. Although there is no competitor when it comes to the title song.
