Abbas and Mastan are known to be among those directors who have given many hit films in Bollywood. Most of his films succeeded in make more revenue than the investment. For the time being, Abbas and Mastan are busy making their new suspense thriller 'Race' and look very much excited. Akshay and Saif are signed as the heroes for the film and people will see them together after a long time. Saif Ali is starring first time in Abbas-Mastan's film whereas Akshay has already worked with them in 'Hamraaz' though both these actors have acted together in Farah Akthar's 'Dil Chahta Hai'. Abbas and Mastan say that they signed both as the audiences have liked their chemistry before.

Akshay and Saif are playing brothers who can go to any extent to beat each other in the race. However, they will look different in this movie from their 'Dil Chahta Hai'. Apart from the heroes Abbas and Mastan have chosen the unique combination of heroines like Katrina Kaif and Bipasha Basu who are taking part in the race with Saif and Akshay. Interestingly, these two heroines have never worked together on the screen. Anil Kapoor and Sameera Reddy are also playing important roles. Anil and Sameera sort out a murder mystery in the film. It is said that Mallika was to play Sameera's role but because of dates problem Mallika walked out of the film.
