The Music of the much anticipated upcoming Bollywood film Ram Leela' is out and the verdict is clear. The music is far below the quality compared to Bhansali's previous gems Hum dil de chuke sanam' and Devdas'. The melody is missing and noise is all over the place. Bhansali may have earned a place of an ace filmmaker but as a musician he is below average.
The Songs and lyrics don't carry the required punch. Songs like Tattad Tattad' do not appeal at all, neither visually nor musically. Perhaps the lead actor Ranveer Singh' might take years to carry a song on his shoulders. It was picturized in a bad taste. The most appreciated song till now has been Nagada sang dhol' but it failed to recreate the magic of Dholi Taro'. It happens when the hype takes on the content.
We called up some leading music stores and radio channels to know about the response of Ram Leela. Planet M said, We expected Ram Leela's music to be a rage, it's far from it...but we are hoping the release of the film will benefit its music as well. Similar comments came from Music land, which stated the music could have been much better. RadioFM and Big Mirchi however reacted positively towards the music's reaction but they didn't deny that the music isn't that popular yet. They are also hopeful that the release would help the music grow.
After giving back to back Blockbusters, Deepika Padoukone appears to be shining in the trailers and promos of the film. The trade is extremely hopeful that the presence of this rising star will give a boost to its music in days to come.
