You are right.
On face value, Jagya's case is kind of weak and points can be manipulated to use them against him as you said.
Jagya's past is bad. And problem is that whatever he did is out there for anyone to see but Sanchi's actions are hidden. Not all are aware of what she has done. Heck! Only viewers know of her and often Anandi too has not seen what Sanchi has been upto.
Jagya's lawyer has to work really hard to defend him here.
For now their focus must be on proving Sanchi's suicide attempt fake.
Points about his redemption can somewhat have judge get a different picture of his character. Not as bad as Shekhars are accusing. But beyond a limit they cannot help much...if law itself is considered.
