Hi Neha, How are you ? I am going to write up about your topic in detail and will hope you have time to read it cause I will try to cover all possibilities of WHY Asif was subject to such a comment !
- Firstly, The moment Asif came in, I liked him. I thought he was great to look at ( Please remember that looks are subjective and there are a lot of people who dont agree with me. I live with a Bangladeshi boy here and I showed him the videos and he said Asif looks like a dog with sunken cheeks. That was not his idea of a goodlooking Bangla guy ) . I am Indian , a guy and NOT gay. So much so, that when I saw Armaan insulting Asif at every given moment I hated Armaan wondering WHY is he doing this ?- As time passed and the show has passed, what I have come to realise is that Asif has a gutter of a mouth and subsequently even the looks dont count ( since I am one of the few of my friends who genuinely finds asif goodlooking )- Asif has been going around telling people " I am hot ! the guys are jealous of me . " There is no one in this world who is going to be subject to such constant immodesty as it brings out other peoples insecurities plus they wouldnt like it. especially in the big bos house who are achievers as well in some way or the other with varying degrees( you have a right to agree or disagree here )For instance: Kushal is a model in his own right and if he is going to have Asif brag to his face, its obvious that Kushal who is hitting on Gauhar and Asif is sort of a hurdle for him, he will use all the limitations of Asif to bring Asif down and make him look like a fool including his language, his stupidity etc. This is not just INDIAN or BENGALI nature, this is UNIVERSALLY Human Nature- Today, after seeing Asif making a total fool of himself by not standing up against Armaan , but screaming and shouting for his rights the moment its a girl or Kushal or the others plus his inability to show an interesting personality or speaking funnily, I have lost respect for Asif. IN fact , sometimes personality counts so much that I have actually stopped finding him goodlooking at all !- Coming to your main point - Whoever, Navin Bajaj is , there can be reasons why he made the comment1) Yes, it is possible he used the Bangladeshi part as a flaw. Based on what ? Is it possible that he has come across many Banglas who behave equally stupid as how Asif is doing ? So he has now stereotyped Bangladeshis are Low class2) Class difference - I am not a major achiever in life . But if I were around Asif and I started seeing this stupidities, I would stop speaking with him and not want him as a friend as I would find him foolish . Please remember, todays times INDIA IS A SECULAR COUNTRY and does not refrain from friendships based on Religion. The new issue however is that of CLASS! In India itself, people make friends with who they consider upto their CLASS or standards, and if I sense that someone is NOT in my standard or class, I would not want to be friends with him or her. In that sense, I would believe Asif may be a top notch model , but the society is now CLASS CONSCIOUS and the people inside as well as Navin Bajaj seem to find him of a Lower class. ANd this has NOTHING TO DO WIHT BEING BANGLADESHI!- I have Pakistanis friends who are so colour conscious, and they constantly poke fun at Bangladeshis and dark skinned INdians. I dont like it , but they are nice to me because they think I am well spoken, attractive and classy. So much so, they would be friends with me and not some of their own Pakistanis who they deem lower to their standards- Perhaps Naveen Bajaj wants to be on the show, and he is miffed that someone from Bangladesh got precedence over him? So that is a mix of jealousy and when you are jealous or angry, as a HUMAN you tend to want to bring down the person infront of you by talking about what they feel makes them inferior ?- Its not as if in INdia, we love each other. If I have a tif with a friend or potential friend, I may try to bring him down with his limitations or what I feel are his limitations ... and similarly he could say HEY YOU ARE f**kING BALDING or some shit... You cannot stop someone from trying to bring out an aspect that knows will hurt you , because that is how the person ends up feeling better about himself !- Asif was goodlooking to me until the moment he started opening his mouth and now he has ruined it for himselfJust to let you know I have met Bangladeshis and I have lived in the UK with a sizeable population of Sylhetis who constantly say bad things about Indians and India . So if a Naveen Bajaj has hurt your feelings, should I sit and cry about all the things i have heard from this obnoxious set of Bangladeshis ??? To add to it , I am also class conscious and most of these sylhetis are uneducated and uncouth !Another example was of a Bangladeshi woman I knew in London , she used to hate being called Bangladeshi and if anyone called her Indian she would cringe because she would say to me I dont want to be a HINDWADA! And then she would GLOAT to kingdom cum when someone called her Pakistani . To be honest, she looked very Indian or Bangladeshi and was not goodlooking at all.. But the pride she took in telling people she was pakistani ( she lied baout this many times as well ) makes me wonder, whats the sense of sitting and sulking about Indians finding Bangladeshis inferiorIN a sense, yes it is true that it may be the case in a lot of Indians . And there are many reasons for this varying from person to person- Those who are CLASS conscious and if a Bangladeshi does not have a shining perosnality which matches up to them, they will consider them inferior. India is VERY CLASS CONSCIOUS now. Indians dont spare each other in this case, so Bangladeshis WILL get the short end of the stick- THose who are VERY angry about illegal migration. I personally have seen Bangladeshis who insult Indians no end , but then when we see whats happening on our border , will it not ANGER ME ABOUT HYPOCRISY. I am not saying Hypcrites are no in india, there are too many, maybe even me, depending on a situation, but if I am pissed, I will have to find the next persons limitation to bring him down so I can feel better. Because thats how I personally can calm my nerves. IN my case I have nothing against Asif, but I am judging him simply from his stupidities in Big boss because he has come on a public platform where votes count. I VOTED for him in his first nomination and aske dmy friends to vote him because I liked him very much but now I am beginning to dislike him for his Classless talk- There will be others who are lighter skinned in India and Bangladesh who will look down upon the darker ones. There could be a possibility that Navin Bajaj who is probably a punjabi or sindhi, feels subsconsciouslysuperior to Asif because of history?I come across snooty North Indians who show so much disdain for south indians and bengalis ... I am from Goa and a Konkani Brahmin, and I do get respite simply for the fact that I am very pale skinned . I know this is wrong but this is the world babes, how do you change it suddenly. THis MAY be another reason , that certain pockets of INdia who come under lighter skinned people look down upon Bangladeshis as inferior just as they see Tamils and Malayalams as inferior to them. So you are not alone in that sense of discrimination.I have a sister who is dusky and although she has a great life as a cabin crew, I have come across so many punjabi women who try to put her down because of her skin colour , especially when someone says to her that she is beautiful. Does she sulk over it ? She was gifted with dusky skin but beautiful features and most men who are not obsessed with light skin think she is gorgeous and she uses the posities and has a great lifeNOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND, that DISCRIMINATION is not HOMOGENOUS. WHile being Bangladeshi, and having a history with us , Yes that is one of the possible reasons for discrimination, but with most of the educated class, the discrimination is VERY MUCH about CLASSIn INdia, its moreso about CLASS , SKINCOLOUR etc... and it happens amongst us too. My Bangladeshi friends are STILL stuck on discriminating mostly on religion.. They constantly ask me to convert and I have never come across muslims of india who say such things... How can we change all this ???? We cant ! But we can clear stereotypes and give people a chance no matter which country they are fromI GAVE ASIF A CHANCE. I LIKED HIS LOOKS, VOTED FOR HIM and wanted him to be in the bigg boss show. THen his stupid mouth, classless attitude, and his amazing ability to make a fool out of himself changed it all for me. I can no longer support him and Him beng a Bangladeshi has nothing to do with him. He is simply too classless for my liking .I hope you get a fair idea of how things are now
