The smile on adhi's face turned to a full fledged frown as he spotted uday in manyata's home, IN MANYATA'S HOME, IN HIS FIANCE'S HOME. He grew red each passing second.
Manyata who noticed that change in expression, quickly pulled adhi to her room and locked thd door.

Uday was initially shocked to see adhiraj here, quickly masked his expression, after all, wasn't he a patient suffering from amnesia. He watched manyata pull adhi inside her room. Her hands touching his arms. Uday's blood started to boil, he wanted to tear Adhiraj, limb from limb and throw it in fire, yet the blank expression on his face did nt reveal anything. He decided to listen to the conversation inside.

In the room
adhi took manyata's left hand which held her engagement ring and literally shoved it to her face.
A: manyata, how could u do this to me? Isnt this a proof that you are mine, and yet how could... You are cheating me with uday, but...

Manyata cut him in between,M: adhi! Would u please listen to me.

A: what should i listen? A confession of love? How long is THIS relation going on? ( he added fisting his hands, ready to punch anything)

manyata held adhi by his shoulder and begged him to listen to her, m: adhi, please, i swear by my dead father that i have no relation of that sort with uday.

Adhi shot backA : Then what is uday doing here? Playing carroms? When did u suddenly become best friends with uday? Are u "best friends" having a sleepover here? And you saw uday's face? Manyata grew silent, her voice was barely a whispher, and it was clouded with guilt. M: uday does not remember who he is, he lost his memory in a accident, thats why he did not recognise you, infact he does not remember anything.

Adhi had a puzzled expression on his face, he asked A: but then manyata, what is he doing here? I mean, if he is sick hd should be at his home and not your's. What's the logic in this situation? I just dont get it.

Manyata was literally in tears as she answered,M: uday is in this situation, because of me

A: what!! What do u mean manyata?

M: yes adhi, it was my car that hit uday, it is because of me that he is in this state, totally blank. So as a punishment for my deed, should not i atleast take care of him? Nurse him till he can remember who he was . Uday is highly suicidal, you know.

A: what if he is acting manyta?

M : what? (shocked)

A: (explain very patiently) I said what if uday was acting like he was amnesic?

Uday who was listening from outside muttered to himself "bull's eye, adhi, I really need to be careful around you. I just hope I don't have to show you who I really am"

M: no, adhi, the doctor itself certified that he was amnesic. Can anyone be such a great actor?

Yet I know how well he fooled me, he is a actor, a great one. A person who can love you in front and plan your murder behind, did not he gain my trust? Wasn't I kidnapped by uday? Did not he kill rajat in cold blood? Could this be a...

Adhi was shaking manyta " manyta? Manyta?"

Manyta came to the present " sorry adhi, my mind drifted away, wait here are the documents regarding uday's hospital record..

She takes those documents and shows him. adhi goes through each and every paper, finally he was convinced.

A: these papers seem right, I guess

M: I told you so...

A: come I want to meet my friend uday, the poor guy..

Uday immediately went and settled himself on the sofa and took the newspaper and started reading it

As adhi left the room with manyta, little did he know that he had managed to sow the seeds of doubt in her mind too...

Adhi came to the hall and hugged uday " uday, my poor friend, why did this happen to you?" he said in a sorrowful voice

Uday was shocked to see this treatment "this is not typical adhi, something wrong somewhere" all uday managed to ask was " who are you? Am sorry I don't remember you, did we meet before?"

Again on hearing the dialogue adhi hugged uday and tears flowed out " my uday!! I am adhi, your friend, we were very good friends, oh, how can I stand and watch my friend in this state?"

Uday noticed manyta wiping her tears with a tissue paper " why do ladies have to cry ? god!!! This is so stupid "

Uday just patted adhi s shoulder and consoled him" its ok buddy, don't feel bad. If we are friends then I don't like to see my friends in tears"

A: ah, uday , you are still such a kind soul

U: so, can you tell me, how you know manyta? Are you her brother?"(uday asked purposely, and a grin appeared on his face)

Adhi went to the place where manyta was standing and slid his hands over her waist and pulled her towards him, and said" I am manyta's fiance"

"ahha, so you want to establish that manyta is your property and I , amnesic or not stay away from her eh? Well adhi , you came too late, she is mine and I will go any extreme to make her my own" uday thought, trying hard to mask his anger .

Uday also say manyta's sad face when adhi announced himself as her fiance ." good manyta, you are saving his life, in this way, be mine , and mine only manyta"

They all had breakfast together, and adhi and uday chatted like old friends. Adhi kept getting emotional when ever uday said he did not remember any incident, and manyta added to the drama, by shedding silent tears, which made uday mad..

" why did you want to see me?" asked jai as she stood hesitated near the table where uday was sitting in the coffee shop

U: take you seat, jai..

J: tell me why you wanted to see me today, I am getting late for college.

U: you don't have college today

Jai was shocked, how did he know

J: er, I have special class (she lied)

U: do they keep special class when the college is shut down because of strikes?

J: ok, I give up, I was lying

U: good girl..

J: tell me why you want to see me

Uday thought a while and told her the reason. As she heard it her eyes grew wide open. She retorted

J: ia m not a girl, who is like that, do you get it?

U: you will do it (very confidently)

J: what if I don't?

U: you will, you have no choice

Jai got up, and told " go to hell, you...***********"

Uday became so angry that he pushed her back to her chair

U: jai, let me make myself clear, you don't have any choice in this matter, so meet me at 5 at my house, is that clear"

Jai stated to get up

U: I have not completed, don't you even breathe a word about this to manyta, is that clear, or..." He warned

Tears flowed from jai's eyes, and she ran away from there. Was she such a girl? She wondered

Uday who was not bothered continued drinking his coffee " she will come, she has to" he said

Uday was ironing his clothes while manyta read the newspaper

M: oh,god!! 2 year old kid, found death in her apartment with her neck slashed. How cruel can the world get?

U: the world has been so since a long time, and it will remain so

Manyta stopped for a second before continuing her reading

The killings will continue as long as there is money for killing. Death is natural, but when you get money for doing that, who would not resist? There is someone out there , umm. Once in that trap, who can come out?"
