Why not an accident or amnesia?

If all Ekta wanted was to separate Arjun and Purvi before the leap, why not go for her tried and tested methods like an accident or amnesia? Why this ridiculous and contrived idea of Purvi suspecting Arjun's fidelity? And why throw Ovi into the pile? That makes no sense, when the man finally grew a pair and refused to reconcile with Ovi! Why would he divorce a woman just so he could have sex with her behind his new wife's back?

This is all so ridiculous. The only good thing that has come out of this leap for Arjun is Rithvik's mature and well calibrated portrayal of an older man!

If she would have shown that, how would she be able to show Pari hating her dad, Purvi hating Arjun, all of the Deshmukhs hating Arjun and all those problems that would crop up after they come face to face all of a sudden? Where relations would change, new sacrifices will be made etc. It is like the only way her stories can move forward. Unfortunately, people watch all this.
On top of that, I think she loves separating her lead couples. Unfortunately she gets TRPs using these lame and ridiculous story lines where there is no law, no math and no logic. Everything just happens. Sigh

I get what you are saying. But the fact is that they could have played the business conflict angle up and created a situation where Purvi and the Deshmukh family feel betrayed by Arjun. This way, they could have still achieved the same hatred drama! This whole thing with Ovi simply makes no sense. If Purvi's character had been kept consistent, she should have volunteered to sacrifice her life again for Ovi and Pia, not hate them and cause them to be cut off from the family. The grounds are so flimsy that I simply cannot understand how a strong plot can be fashioned out of it. However, Ekta hardly cares!

The only answer I have to that is Ekta loves the Arjun-Purvi-Ovi triangle.
And so she keeps bringing it up and causing havoc in their lives.

It was not Arjun who grew a pair and refused to reconcile with Ovi...It was Ovi who accepted the fact that Arjun never loved her or their stillborn and only loved Purvi and their love child Pari. She decided to remove herself from their marriage..Arjun was still begging her to stay in the marriage until the last minute. Though he was still pining for Purv.
So lets have our facts right ...
As a matter of fact Arjun has yet not grown a pair. There would not be so much mess if he had a pair to begin with.

The business angle would have worked much better for ArVi separation. Arjun could have supported his dad and Shirish, Purvi would support Manav and there could be friction between them. If Purvi lost her child because of this, she would blame Arjun's behavior and leave him to go to Canada. That would be believable.

But the same Purvi who handed over Arjun to Ovi on a plate, who gave away her newborn baby to Ovi so their marriage survives, who constantly nagged Arjun to make his marriage work, how can this Purvi suspect Arjun of cheating on her with Ovi?
It would be more plausible if they showed her leaving Arjun so Ovi and her baby could be happy with him! Another sacrifice from Archana Junior Purvi.
She would more likely say to Arjun: Oh u want to spend ur life with Ovi and the baby? Main hi raastey se hatt jaati hoon" 😆
CVs were in such a hurry to leap they completely screwed up the plot, the characters, the story! But they dont care, they are too busy concentrating on Ankita and her siblings who seem to have fallen from the sky, theres no mention of their mother, or who gave birth to them! Normally people have photos of deceased parents on the walls. 😕
