Please do take ample cognizance of the following...

1. Now, I am in no shape size or form to judge anyone on appearance...coming from the genus couch potato me self...to judge anyone...but please..please..and goshdangit..don't use top heavy, over fed, underfit...and for want to a better word..Reubenesque...males...to represent brave Rajput warrior clan-heads (and also...who truly look like dunderheads)...to take on a totally fit and macho( just take a bathtub poll here..and you'll know what I mean)...😉 Protagonist in chief...coz if ...and when... he takes a good look at them...they who couldn't lift a sword if one hit them on their collectively and isolatedly ...ample backsides.. He'll prolly walk off the battlefield laughing and splitting his sides..and pants..in good measure...thereby fulfilling the totally adorable and my personal fave Khan-e-Khana's prediction..."Shahenshah ki Phattey ho gayi..."

2. Reducing the character of jodha to a sulky brat...is liking reducing my namesake to a handwringing, eyelash batting, fluff head...and since the latter ain't possible...the former should not be either...U don't EVAH...EVVAHHH...reduce the character of a willfully intelligent, smart and witty woman to that of ..grrr...kitty Bennett...coz in which case..Jodha might as well marry Adham...and leave the smart Alec Jalal... To the likes of well...Liz...😳..( now, wouldn't that be a story line...Lizzie and JM sittin on a tree...Can't stop being a cougar..can I !!)

3. To misquote Twilight...your rapid fast switches in timelines, story plots , emotional whatnots are giving me sequencing whiplash...so STOP!!!

4. When you are blessed with hardworking, capable of delivering, thinking actors...USE THEM..!!!!!

Let there be a free for all repartee , a back and forth Sally of wits, somewhat barbs, and snap at ya's...do not subject us to romance of the quality of Velveeta (which is sooo a non-cheese)...and therefore acky...

women do like wit, intelligence...which ur hero in chief has more than ample of...so what keeps a romance goin...(besides multiple showers, baths...more for cleanliness..u understand 😉)...is intellectual fore play ...and if you don't know this...you poor non-gals... sorry.. guys... need a rapid fire course in what makes a romance tick...do take the trouble to read one of the finest romances ever...which has my namesake...and Sigh! Colin Firth..yeah yeah..go ahead and disagree...but tell me if there ever was a better Darcy..

Well ..maybe..Beckham...but only if he was silent..!,

Jodha is a conformist.

A typical princess who internalizes everything she is taught in her homeland.

She is haughty,she is proud, she is sheltered, sometimes passive aggressive and desperately trying to live up to that ideal image of a virtuous woman that she is not. So, dear Lizzie, I am going to have to respectfully disagree with you on this woman. I quite like Jodha's character. I am sick of strong women. Just freaking sick of every woman being outspoken and rebellious and awfully PERFECT.

It is nice to see Jodha fail miserably at what she thinks she is or atleast aims to be. And when she moans about her anger with the emperor, it is the only small form of mutiny possible in that era and it is enough. I am uncertain what you expect of her (I would like to know) but I am happy with it so far.

Surely there's more to be done but what is being showcased is not half bad.

Also, how dare you? Beckham is perfectly well read and oh so articulate. His words are just as yummy as chocolate abs. I don't know what you're talking about woman.

And, most of all, Collin Firth ain't got nothin on Bernie Sue's Darcy from the Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Hands down the most swooning Darcy of them all😳

p.s. said nothing about the warrior stuff because I really don't pay attention to that part. not even ashamed to say it *snooze fest*

if either jodha akbar or hamida are not on screen, I skip the scene. okay, maybe I watch rukaiya sometimes but that's it.

I loved your style of writing..though I must confess- that I have to be on my thinking-best to grasp what you seem to have written so nonchalantly!

I loved your wry wit and ire aimed at the tracks that have been unfolding since Friday...I like the way your mind works...😃

I am so dying to see an intellectual war of words between the two - in reference - did you see the scenes they exchanged outside the temple - Where Jalal is disguised as a baba and Jodha recognizes him! I'm dying for scenes like that!

The leads are what MAKE this serial what it is! Hope Ekta learns to cash in on it properly...such a waste to toss over a goldmine for the sake of a few notes!

Did you just say "Lizzie Bennet Diaries"? I thought I was only on in India who saw it, and loved it. 😆 The Darcy was perfection there, just as Austen meant him to be. With his crippling shyness, vulnerability and protectiveness. No one even comes close. Maybe Macfayden, but hey, that's just me. 😆 I am crazy excited about their Emma Approved as well. Knightley is yum. 😆

Hey there...Bonjour...,

I totally agree with you on Jodha...as i have said earlier...i admire her because she is with faults...and that she fails at many things she attempts...albeit with complete sincerity of effort...there is no doubting her honesty ...or her stubborn naivete...after all..these are the very qualities that a character like JM is growing to admire...coz all others..with maybe 3 around him...are fake..

i even enjoy her depiction as one who is desperately clinging to Amer...coz she is so completely lost in Agra...( i would be lost too...even with a traffic in Agra for dummies guide...😆) I just would like to see the wit and repartee return...Kate gave in...but kinda kept her sharp tongue...and so did she..love's greatest heroine...Cleopatra...

It aint bad t'all...nopes it ain't...neither is her mutiny..which i admire..coz she is wilful...i just want the dialogue...ers...to add wit to her character, instead of subtracting the humour..angry, sarcastic or otherwise..from her column and handing it over to JM...hook, line and with 4 bleepin sinkers...

Also, Becks is gorgeous, funny , charming...even more without the Vicks by his side.. d'accord.. non?? He just has a voice that sounds like he inhaled Helium...aaah..well..all that perfection...and that eeeny flaw makes him even cuter...okay..my knees just went goooeeyy...

Firth to me is the best Darcy...and yes..i havent seen the Bernie Sue one...where do I look for it??

I disagree on two counts with your post.

First, Jodha's characterization has a certain estimable ambiguity to it. On the one hand, her portrayal is marred by an insolent, impudent "brattishness" fitting of a child, not the wife of the Emperor of India, a queen, or a woman of royal bearings. However, Jodha's effrontery in challenging any and all actions of the Emperor, especially when they concern her can be interpreted in another light. It could be just a culmination of her every contrived effort to distance herself from the man she is so intent on hating, yet finds herself growing closer to. Since Jalal hasn't given reasons enough to stringently hold on to her veneer of "ghrina" and what not, Jodha must bring out the big guns, ironically her last assortment of weaponry against opening herself to an amiable camaraderie and more with her husband. Also, in light of the recent series of events, I'm impelled to believe that it is not hate or antipathy that Jodha harbors for Jalal any more, but a grudging feeling of liking. And, her jeers do not carry the usual astringency, but a flavor of unprecedented warmth. (Oh, the horror!) So, like many have predicted before me, Jodha will soon surrender the barb and jab to conform to feeling more than just tolerance for her husband, and we will be treated to an onslaught of romantic scenes we have wanted, ever since the show began.

Second, I understand the need to see hunks on the telly, but surely the brave Rajput warrior clans must have had a couple of them who were mellow around their middles and did not boast a much coveted six pack? What I mean to say is that, the physique and anatomy of a person goes only so far in determining his prowess on the battlefield. The Rajputs abounded with warriors who were not only valiant, but also clever, traits that attributed to the fact that the Mughals were never able to absolve all boundaries present in the vast land of India and bring all her territories under one rule.

The rest of the post is really interesting, as usual. 😃 I loved the part about being a cougar. *Nudge nudge wink wink* 😉 The way you manage to juxtapose humor with logic is laudable.
