Hello guys,

I have missed posting on this forum so very much! I just got the chance to watch yesterday's episode and knew I had to post because yesterday's episode was šŸ˜³šŸ‘. Here I am posting a topic when I have four tests this coming Monday that I should be studying for and bunch of homework to do. I guess you can say I have my priorities straight in life. I would also like to apologize for this essay. I love writing so I don't really know how much I have written till I have written it all.

Well all that aside, I am still super happy about the Jalal's "confession" which many of you guys feel may or may not be true. I, however, feel that it is somewhat true. I wouldn't necessarily believe that Jalal knows at this point what his feelings are toward Jodha, but I feel like he is getting a clue. I don't think he out right knows he loves her, but I would say he knows at this point there are some "stringed attached" if you can call it that.

What makes me believe that is the way he has been acting ever since he recovered and came back from Ajmer. Jalal did not blow up in anger when he saw Jodha, which I found to be surprising. Yes, he's sick and still recovering, but that sure is hell did not stop him from flirting with Jodha so... I am not sure why he wouldn't be angry and yell at her for what she has done. So far he hasn't even mentioned the incident in a way in which he is "angered". He has only in a flirting manner taunted Jodha about the incident instead of yelling at her for what she did. He's resumed all regular business as an Emperor so I would only assume that he would start yelling and punishing Jodha but he has done no such thing.

I am not too sure whether I should take this as a sign or if there was anything specific about this scene to begin with, but do you guys remember when Jalal regained his consciousness he held up his hand to which MA stepped forward but then realized the hand wasn't for her and then Ruqaiya went forward and realized he wasn't stretching out the hand for either and everyone looked at Jodha who in turn knew what Jalal was asking for and said no. I felt like he specifically sent that message to Jodha knowing she would understand and maybe because he felt some sort of closeness to her. I don't know, you guys let me know on this one because it could simply mean the man just wanted water which I would be happy to assume, but I am not sure why everyone was eying Jodha if that was the case.

Now back to the point of this topic, when Jalal was staring at the sun there was some emotions in his face that I've never seen him express/have in this show. He was peering out the window looking at the sun and knowing Jalal how many of you guys felt that Jalal looking at the sunset was out of character? He doesn't seem like the type to stand in front of a window and look out toward the sun setting. Plus, Jalal seemed completely serious when he told Ruqaiya he loved Jodha. When he was turned around and through the confession it looked as it is he was "helpless" in that he couldn't help his feelings. He didn't want to be in love with Jodha, but nevertheless, the fact remained that he did have feelings for her which is why he does the things he does for her. He seemed like he was tired of doing this whole charade of hating her. I feel if he were joking with Ruqaiya he would have made some sort of face that "yelled" I am joking when he wasn't facing her, but he didn't. He was serious throughout the whole scene. He told Ruqaiya he was joking and then again turned around and looked toward the sun as if him saying "this was a joke" was the joke that he had played on Ruqaiya while his confession was actually the truth.

Plus, I feel Jalal is way too much in a flirty mode with Jodha not to be in love or at least for a small crush. When she came in he was flirting with her and then when she left he was blaming himself for not having Jodha put ointment on him. If he was only looking to torture Jodha he wouldn't be having such self thoughts. Literally, he said something along these lines "I just missed the opportunity of having her apply this ointment on me. How foolish of me? It's okay, there will be lots of these moments in Amer." He wasn't dying to have Ruqaiya apply ointment on him (if you guys remember the scene where Ruqaiya is complaining to Jalal about going to Amer and how she will not allow him to go, therefore, she will see to it that he does not." Notice the difference?

What do you guys think? The weekend is long so I would like to feed my imagination off of what you guys think because I just cannot wait for Monday to see what is really going on in Jalal's mind or to at least get another hint. How many of guys feel he is in love but doesn't want to admit it? And how many of guys feel this is pure revenge? I feel if he wanted revenge he would have at least told Ruqaiya. He always tells her each and every plan of his.

Love,
Riya

Nice post
I don't think he's in love yet...I know many many feel that way because of that confession...I personally think that confession bit was put in more as a 'trick precap' by CVs to keep us on tenterhooks...Had this scene been shown after the Ajmer trip, I would have been with you on this one...however, after seeing how the CVs are currently taking it, I still think its early days - too early for him to sub-consciously realize such a feeling - especially seeing the devilish manner in which he's presented himself on Friday...But, it might happen after Amer...

By the way, Jalal (and Akbar himself) has always been someone who admired beauty - be it the couplets in poetry, paintings or the beauty of a woman - him admiring the setting sun shouldn't be made akin to him being 'lost' in love.😳

Having said that
There is absolutely no doubt that he's attracted to her...he's always been 😳
There's no doubt he has a soft corner for her 😳
There's no doubt her admires the qualities in her that are not there in any of his other Begums 😳

So good to see you back after such a long time Riya😊.
Anyways even i have exams to study about but one line struck me and stood in my mind since i watch the episode.
Its when Jodha left and Jalal said 'oh what did u just do Shenhenshah? U just missed a beautiful moment of having Jodha Begum apply marham to your wounds...
I am referring to the word beautiful here.I was like did Jalal just said that😲 a beautiful moment with Jodha doesnt sound like a man out for revenge or malice.I believed that he has indeed changed since his Ajmer trip.He didnt go off on Jodha but he ate the fruits she sent and is plotting now on how he is going to corner her in Amer and make her do things for him.
It also struck me when he told her no matter how much chili she adds in his food that he will still eat it.I was going gaga for Jalal in that scene. Its a symbolism that he will endure anything just to have a relationship and savour that relationship however weird it can be.He has gotten used to Jodha being around and he cant romance with her because she wants nothing to do with him so he'll flirt, tease and trouble her.Her punishment is his enjoyment but not physically but mentally, emotionally.
Alot of people were worrying that Jalal would play the love game with Jodha to break her but i dnt think so.Whatever he has been doing so far he has done it in front of her face not behind her back.
He is a very unpredictable man but he does give her an insight on what he is going to do to worry her as it gives him satisfaction to know she is thinking about him.

Thank you! You know what's really strange. I just read your OS today before driving my siblings somewhere and in the back of my head I thought to myself "as soon as I get home I have to comment and see if you have more posts!" Totally forgot that, but you reminded me. You write so beautifully! Do you have any more posts I could read?šŸ˜†

I totally understand your perspective as well. There have been times where I felt like maybe he isn't in love and was actually joking, but I feel more toward the side that says he does have feelings. Maybe not fully aware of his "love" or feelings right now, but I feel he does have feelings for her just because of some of the things he does to her. I don't at times I feel like he is in love and then there are times where I feel he isn't. It really depends on the scene. It is very contradictory. No doubt he is attracted to her and he doesn't full out say that to her although he has in a way told her "he has gotten lost in her beauty(sword fight scene)"

I knew Akbar loved to admire things because I love reading about the real people. It just gives the story a whole new layer. It just makes you think; "wow, someone actually went through this ages ago?" But I felt like Jalal hadn't really been shown to admire such things in this show. I only really saw him admiring Jodha's beauty a few times as well as the poetry Jodha wrote to Ruqaiya when she found out she was pregnant. But then again I could be missing some scenes.

With all that said! Thanks for commenting and I see where you're coming from! 😊 If you have any other stories please let me know because I would really, really love to read them! 😳😃

Hey! It's really great to see you too. I always want to come on and write something, but I am always running out of time! I have enough time to write a post, but never do I have enough time to go back and reply to everyone, which to me feels a bit rude so I just don't post all together. 😭 Good luck with your exams. I guess we both know what's more important!šŸ˜† College can wait.

That is the line that is stuck with me as well. After I wrote this topic I went back to go watch that scene another 2-3 times just so I could dissect it later. Jalal moves back and forth so much that I literally am on my toes with this guy. One minute I am 100% sure he is in love and then the next minute I am so unsure. Speaking of this scene, I was more of like 100% sure he was gone. This was it, he had feelings. So speaking of this scene and what I thought. I, like you, felt there was so much symbolism in this scene. He was flirting with her the whole time. He started out with, "If I do something good you get mad. If I do something bad you get mad. Is this something you were born with or did you train yourself to become this way? The whole time he was smiling with his teeth. Then he tried to make the conversation about him and his wounds, but knowing our queen and her attention for her king we know that wasn't going to work well. She ignored his answers and told him to get to the point. He did. He doesn't even resist and ask her to answer his questions instead of him answering hers because he knows there is no way he is going to win this battle. The spice scene was so cute. Also I don't know about you, but when he was describing her "anger, eyes and way of speaking" and how no one could save him from her, I was for a second thinking is he talking about how no one can save him from falling for her or what? I am sure he didn't mean it that way, but that's the first thing that came to mind. He has changed a lot since his trip.

Jalal is in fact so different around Jodha. He does things for her which I feel he would never do for any other begum. When they were going to Ajmer, he slept on the couch while she slept on the bed just because he wanted to make sure she was safe. If it had been any one else I don't think he would have done that. At least I don't think he would sleep on the couch for them because heck, he is the emperor. Why would he do that for just about anyone? But he did for Jodha.

Sorry for making it long. I had to cut myself short because literally I could go on for forever and I am sure it would be no fun to read an essay!šŸ˜†

Thanks for commenting. It's always lovely to see your comments. 😃😳

Love,
Riya

No, Jalal doesn't love Jodha. Not as yet. But, he does care about her a lot, too much for his own good. šŸ˜› And he has a definite soft spot for her. He spins circles around Ruqaiyya because however oblivious he might seem, Jalal knows her very well! He knows exactly what she's capable of but he doesn't say much to her because unhe "Ruqaiyya ka haq jamnaa accha lagta hain." Except that , that is changing. Now he begins to get annoyed with her when she talks against Jodha. See the scene where she comes to visit him after he regains consciousness. There is very smooth anger behind Jalal's lazy words. "Itni Badi Gustaakhi ki itni, Chotti sazaa?" . He disapproved of Ruqaiyya slapping Jodha.
Plus it seems like a protective move. He knows how innocent Jodha is which is why he often laughs at her, but also with her. When she taana maros & taunts him & humiliates him.😊 He understands that behind these painful & angry words lies a thoroughly distraught woman.

He covers everything he does for Jodha as a political move/gain or reason & it is, but it is the way he hides his face, looks away when he talks about Jodha & in the affection that sprinkles a little from his eyes, when he feels she isn't looking; that betray that however much he may say she means nothing to him, the truth is much opposite.

Even now, after she had him standing at Death's Door, he smirkingly flirts with her, taunts her, and titles her as a "baaghin" šŸ˜† That he needs to be aware of at all times. But he doesn't make any move to put her in her place for her huge "Gustaakhi". Interesting. And the only one who understands this & is thus, very scared, is MahamAnga.

And isn't it also interesting that , out of all the genuine sazaas he can give her (because she did do a crime of sorts) the first thing that he does is tell her that he will make her make food for him every day at her Amer? Awww 😳.

Anyone can see that that is, from no angle, a punishment. It is according to her customs, a saubhagya to make bhojan for her pati-Dev, and , from Jalal's side, a wish that subtly shows how much he wants his Rajputi Begum to care for him. Be around Him. So that is what he will do at Amer. constantly flirt with her, tease her to anger, make her do things for him- Things not meant to humiliate her in anyway, just in Jodha's mind. Why? Because if Jodha is not made to feel that it is a dand, she will never do any of it. This Jalal knows too well. So he cloaks his deep care, husbandly right, and his need for her to show tokens of affection/ care for him, in these inane sazaas. 😳 šŸ˜†

Also- There is a markedly different way in which he behaves, interacts & best. Acts. With Jodha.
With the rest if his Begum's, he gives them perfunctory respect & usually, ignores them. He doesn't know them & neither does he wish to know them. They're there, to display the shaan of the Shahenshaah-E-Hind. It is an un-spoken agreement between all the haram ladies that they must aggressively compete for his attention.

With Salima, he is very very respectful & dignified because she was his foster father's wife who he knows she loves madly, till today. And that Bairam Khan loved her "deewangee ki had tak." He tells her so himself.

With Ruqaiyya, he is too used to her. And allows her to get away with most things. With her there is a bond of comfort, friendship & yes, affection. But have you noticed , that when she hugs him, he doesn't hug her back? When she moves towards him he generally doesn't respond to her the same way, or, is passive about it. Nowdays, he has begun to get irritated with her too.

With JODHA, the whole scene changes! He can't get enough of her. Holding her hand, flirting with her, teasing her mercilessly, trying to get any sort of rise out of her so that she acknowledges his. Presence. Without a doubt, it angers his Imperial Ego. But he does things for her, that he I am sure, would do for no-one besides Jodha. Personally guarding her tent at night. Sleeping on the sofa for her. Declaring that he will go to Amer for her sister's marriage. Going crazy with helplessness & anger when she vanished from the palace & he had no clue where she was. The look of sadness & loss that would cross his face when Ruqaiyya would taunt him by saying Jodha doesn't want him at all & infact , hates him & asks him why does he bother about her when she is going to go back to Amer forever? Those looks were very telling. His eye on her most times when she is at the Diwaan-E-Khaas. His fond smiles when someone talks about Jodha. His Jodha Begum. There is so much more. That shows how different Jalal is, and treats Jodha from the rest of his wives & harem women.
