Don and Duplicate, saying it again, he cannot carry a double role on his shoulders with ease and elan as some other actors do...

Yes, few minth say that he has attempted a Baazigar, Darr and Anjaam. But let me tell you, these were attempted by him, way before he became King Khan and King of Bollywood. He would not riski doing it again when he has reached this level.. 😳Swades and Ashoka though different was not accepted, Paheli too...

And yes, Saif has experimented moer than SRK, this is a fact.. Saif had no acting skills, was complete 0 when he entered bollywood. He had no goody goody looks when he was young. He struggled, at one point, we thought it would be better for him to leave bollywood.. But see today.. See where Saif stands... He expreiments a lot, he has seen success greatly.. At one point in his career, Saif too limited himself to only romantic stuff, but he was ready to take a risk, moved on, did many films which were different. He was not accepted first, but he persevered, showed variety , see where he stansd today..

Regarding Big B's work, yes i would also agree that there was a phase when Big B wanted to so stereotype roles, which never suited him. It is an embarassment, for sure, this is coming out from me, who is his fan.. But then he knew the vibes of the audience, slowly got Mohabbatein and there was no turning back...

Yes, there were a few comments on his latest film Ekalavya and his forthcoming film Nishabd.. Has anyone seen Ekalvya here? Can anyone tell me whether a 64 year old actor can act as amazingly as Big B did in Ekalavya...

Again, Big B will be criticised for accepting Nishabd, like he was criticised for doing Sexy Sam(all actors get criticised, it is not only SRK who is cornered...)Again, see the role he gets, even at this age.. A script written only for him.. Its all but a role... so what if he goes behind a 18 year old girl? Have we not seen this happening in real life? hehe I have seen it happening, so i dont think it is bad enough... 😳 See the varied range of roles this actor does, everytime emerging as a winner...

Yeah...SRK did good films b4 stardom and after he becams the so calles 'King' neither did he do such films nor did the directors who signed him utilise his plus points...

I havent seen Asoka n dun think I can sit thru it(not bcoz of SRK...Becoz of that Kareena....she shocks me everytime I see a song from the film😆) also...wgo can do a double role like Amitabh...all u need is pure versatility to fit into both the contrasting roles...😉

Saif is someone who has undoubtedly shown the maximum progress as an actor the last few years....👏 PPl say his 'Hum Tum' didnt deserve a national award...maybe not...but the way he carried that laidback role is commendable. n today he ranks among the best actors I have seen👏He has grown man...he gets mass popularity by doing unconventional roles...he has earned it and he rocks today👏

And Big B---There will never be another Amitabh...there wasnt anyone with such versatility b4 him, after him....n then after that not so 'Memorable' phase of his career, he knew what he needed to do...he knew what the audience wanted and he reinvented himself...I dont say SRK should do that...he is not 58 yet man!!!😆 But he should do at least one good role a year😉 n should quit fighting with good directors and co-actors😆

n yeah...after Mohabbatein he had no turning back...lets call it his second Zanjeer...Mohabbatein was a stupid film and whatta theme( go to college to Love!!!)🤢...But the performance of Big B was truly brilliant...and then today there is no actor who has tried as many dif roles as him...I for one Loved his Sexy Sam act in KANK...He was a huuge relief from the boring film...😆 In fact the only actually truthful character in the film...the role cud have seemed a ;lot more vulgar if not for his sheer charishma...n u have to salute him for that...which is exactly what SRK lacks when he did Don, Kank...Today scripts are made just to give Amitabh a role never b4 to add the Bcachan tag to the career of the directors...but for SRK...He is doing films whihc show 0 scope of improving his acting skills...all entertainment oriented...this is where SRK gets it wrong..

The bottomline is that-During Amitabh's prime...there wasnt an actor like Amitabh Bachchan and today during SRK's time...there is still this man who goes stronger than ever...

PS:Nahiin dekha yaar/..havent seen Eklavya...feel sooo bad coz ppl say its Amitabh at his best...stupid me not seen it yet)😭😭

Sorry guys..I dun mean to be rue...i know I myself said its baseless comparing SRK with Amitabh...but whe evryone does...I guess I have to give an answer...😳

Yes. And yes, we have had stalwarts like Balraj Sahni, Dilip Saab, Pran, Amrish Puri, and quite a few others (cant remember all names) who have done as well and maybe better. This is not taking credit away from the Big B, but giving credit everywhere, wherever it is due.

😃 Well Anil Kapoor did Lamhe and whatever the fate of the movie, I thought that was a path breaking role then... both for him and Sridevi and at no time did it ever appear as if it were women centric, but it was role centric. Big B is a wee bit behind when it came to this 😉

Many Scripts are written for stars, K3G was written for all the stars, including Poo😃. Lets give credit where it is due

hmm...tell me one actor of the above mentioned who does a lead but unconventional role today...

With due repect to Dilip Saab who is definitely oe of the finest talents this country has produced...if u have seen Shakti...u wi;l understand why Amitabh is here...he was undoubtably a shade above Dilip Saab whatever u say...

I dun say Dilip saab is not as good as Amitabh...he is a legend in his own way...n Amitabh cant do a Devdas or Mughal E Azam like Dilip Saab did...But "better" than Amitabh...hmm...that is too far fetched...

Anyway...this topic has turned to Big B now frm SRK...Whatever be...as long as they have loyal fans and continue entertaining them...let 'em live long😉

this is where U have to give credit where it is due...we havent seen Nishabd yet and from the promos this film is evidently more intense than Lamhe...Lamhe was a poetic love story of the attration of two ppl of different age grps...whereas evidently Nishabd deals with a much more intense attration and more wierdo(sorry couldnt find another word at the moment) charcetrs...lets see the film and decide...

Kabuliwala was a lead role, Do Bigha Zameen was a lead role. Surely, we cannot deny that those were lead roles, they were scripted roles and they were powerhouse packed performances, which possibly cannot be duplicated. And comparisons with only actors of today, ignoring our wealth of talent in the past is not, in my opinion, a fair comparison. Merely because they are dead today does not mean we forget their performances.

How can we compare two actors in the first place. Can we compare Apples and Oranges? And Dilip Saab not being equal to or better than AB, well, I wont know or want to comment, but Shakti had great performances by BOTH or rather all Four. Ganga Jamuna was an unconventional role... But then again, why are we comparing? I am not denying that Big B is a fab actor, I happen to be his fan too, but he is not the greatest. There are others who are better actors. One man whose acting left us or at least me wanting for more is Sanjeev Kumar and in Trishul, in every frame where the two appeared, my eyes were in doubt as to where to concentrate. That movie has been seen enough times by me, once for Big B, once for Sanjeev Kumar 😳 and that silsila continues even today. Next time is for Big B again 😆

Agreed... this is a story of a man falling in love with a friend of his 18 year old daughter....

Lamhe was the story of a man who loved a woman and whose daughter he fell in love with later on....

Two different stories, two different characters, two different film makers therefore completely different treatment.

I give credit to Big B for wanting to do the movie, but you cant take credit away from Yash Ji for bringing a concept to Indian Cinema, at an age when he was aware that the story may not cut much ice with the film goers. Yet he took the risk and gamble and made a commercial film out of it. Todays average cine goer is more willing to accept a different film.

Agreed - Give credit where it is due 😃

oopsie... we got distracted... back to bashing SRK😉 ...ooopsie... mistik mistik... Back to discussing whether SRK is a fading light

🤣 I am in splits reading this. Priya your arguments are fun to read.

So the conclusion is SRK is the best anchor in the film industry and he is not a fading light. Sarcasm is also a form of humour. People could watch Oscar night to learn more about that kind of humour.
