Television actress Prachi Desai's (Bani of Kasamh Se) appearance at her first HSC exam yesterday attracted plenty of attention from fellow students. She wrote the exam at Sinhgadh College in Pune.
However, the hardworking actress was back in Mumbai, shooting for her serial, by evening.
Star entry
Prachi made a star entry into the class just a few minutes before the exams began and sat down to write the paper without wasting any time. She, however, did manage to meet her friends and teachers before the exams.
Prachi told MiD DAY, "I felt relieved after meeting my teachers and friends. There were some students who surrounded me, but the teachers took control of the situation. After the exams, some students and parents came up to me for autographs."
Distractions
Many students and examiners even came to see her in class, which made it very difficult for Prachi to concentrate.
She said, "It was difficult to stop myself from being distracted with all that was going on, but I managed."
And how did her paper go? Prachi said, "It was English, so there wasn't any problem. But there will certainly be some problems in the other papers. I have yet to appear for Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Geography and Computers and I haven't prepared much for these papers."
Work woes
Due to her acting career, Prachi was unable to appear for the exams last year. She is now preparing for her Psychology paper on March 1. Prachi said, "I shoot for at least four to five hours daily. However, I try to study between shots. I have been taking painkillers, due to a leg injury, which makes me feel dizzy and sleepy. Hence, I fall asleep within an hour of studying."
Prachi's mother, Amita, is worried about her schedule. Amita said, "Prachi does not get time to study and due to painkillers she is unable to concentrate. She is sincere about both her studies and shooting and tries to manage them simultaneously. I am confident she will pass her exams."
