Did you guys know that it was Amitabh's idea to cast himself, Jaya and Rekha for Silsila?

Yashji talked about all this in that discussion with Srk before he passed away, it was for promotions of JTHJ.

Yashji had finalized the cast of Silsila and was about to begin shooting when he ran into Amitabh on another film's set. He showed the script of Silsila to Amitabh. Amitabh asked Yashji if he was happy with the cast and who he thinks would be the best cast. Yashji said that the best cast would be him with Jaya and Rekha. Amitabh said he would do the film and would talk to Jaya about it. They all agreed to the film and they basically chucked out the old cast merely days before shooting began.

Yeah originally it was Samita Patel and Perveen Bobby to play the female leads of the film.But AB changed the cast over night.And Jaya only agreed to the role if she will get Amitabh at the end.
