Sunny's teenager heroine

Urvashi Rautela prides herself in "being the Indian girl to win maximum beauty pageants." This winner of four major pageants will soon be seen making her Bollywood debut opposite Sunny Deol in Singh Saab The Great. Speaking about her big B-town debut the actress says, "I feel blessed to work with Sunny Deol in my first film.

He's a superstar but is very humble. Add to that, I have Anil Sharma as my director. This duo has given hits like Gadar and Apne together. I feel they are lucky for each other and hope this film will be lucky for me too."
Revealing a bit about her role the actress tells us, "I play Sunny Deol's love interest and the film is a beautiful love story of Sunny and Mini. The film also gives a crucial message to today's youth. I hope the film turns out to be a small medium to bring about a big change."
The film also stars Amrita Rao but Urvashi doesn't fear being overshadowed by her. "I have a good role and I'm confident of being noticed. Though we don't have scenes together, I share a warm relationship with Amrita offscreen."
Urvashi says her parents have always encouraged her " be it her modelling or acting aspirations or other extra-curricular activities. "Back home in Uttarakhand where I grew up, I have a room full of around 14 trophies and certificates that I won for sports and dance competitions. I was also the head girl in school and during that period trained in dance forms like Bharatnatyam and Kathak. Soon after, I went on to become a national level basketball player. I won my first beauty pageant at the age of 15, which was Miss Teen India in 2009. I was offered many films down South after that but my parents felt I was too young and I planned to pursue engineering at that time. In 2011, I won Miss Asian Supermodel and Miss Tourism Queen. In 2012, I won Miss Photogenic at an international pageant."
Having achieved so much at a young age, the actress says she never felt stressed out and considers herself good at multitasking. She says, "I think all girls are good at multitasking, so it was never a problem for me. I feel I have good leadership qualities. In fact, I had my own fan club in school, juniors who aspired to be like me. That makes me feel proud. Also, destiny played a major role in my life. I was pursuing engineering when this film offer came my way and I just couldn't say no"
Urvashi tells us that at 19 she hasn't planned her future and would prefer to go where life takes her. On the personal front, she says, "I'm currently single but I believe in the concept of soulmates. So I'm waiting to find mine." As far as films are concerned, she is bound by a contract. "My contract does not allow me to sign any new film before Singh Saab The Great releases."
