PART 41 B

Arnav reached his house after dropping Khushi at her house. He expected a calm and serene atmosphere while there was an uplifiting noise from the big speakers around the vicinity of his house. He could predict that it could be from Abhay's house as he is fond of loud music.He noded his head slightly brushing off his friend's silliness. As he moved towards the hall, he saw Akshay talking to Lavanya casually. He could find a difference in Lavanya getting comfortable with everyone but she was in her limits. After all that happened with NK she might have moved on and her friendly acquaintance with his colleagues did leave an impression of a bold woman in her.

His stance broke with someone holding his shoulder from behind. He turned back to see his Nani smiling widely at him.

Nani : You can trust your little sister chotte. She has learnt from her past mistakes. I myself believe in her especially after narrating to her about Aditi yesterday night. She sighed and looked down not to meet his questioning eyes.

Arnav : Nani why did you tell her all that? She will feel more guilty now. She could feel the aftereffects if the circumstances had changed another way around. He questioned Nani with a concern in his voice. An unknown fear of how his sister would take up this incident in her life especially after how she had shown the maturity by moving on from NK's issue.

Nani : She should know Chotte. We did a mistake by hiding it from her all these years.Now this will make her more matured in her decisions especially when she knows she is the apple of your eyes and this family's as well.

She cupped Arnav's cheeks with affection to make him understand the reality.

Nani : Chotte.. Now you are married.. For a change try to think about your life,your future with Khushi leaving behind other responsibilities to me and Manohar. I am not asking you to not interfere in the family matters but give importance to the girl who is fully dependant on you.. I entrust my grandson can take up the any responsibility with much maturity.

Arnav touched her palm which was cupping his cheeks and smiled his usual self assuring that he will make everything right.

Arnav : Nani.. don't worry about my life. I am lucky to get Khushi who is just a missing half of me. She can understand each and every movement in myself. We will adjust among ourselves and accommodate our family matters in our life too. I am sure we will succeed in it.

Nani smiled at the confidence of her grandson. The more maturity he shows which is par at his age she felt the underlying pain that had happened in his life. Like a phoenix he has come out of all his trauma successfully and soaring high with the confidence and determination which was always something she had awed at him. She blessed him by keeping her hands on his head wishing him to be as humble as he is always which will take him to more heights.

Suddenly her thoughts got a pause as his mobile started ringing. Aranav moved himself and attened the call while Nani went inside.

Arnav : Yea Akash.. where are you? Don't you have the client meeting today? Have you started for the meeting?

Akash : No bhai.. I m stuck with Abhay here in the textile shop.He just dragged me here when you got delayed. Can you do me a favour bhai? Can you attend the meeting today? As such you know the importance of the meeting and I am sure you can convince them much better than me.. Please..

Arnav: Dammit he called me to accompany him and now he dragged you? He is such an impatient soul Aki.. Don't worry.. I will attend.. Just message me the address. I will take Jeejaji to find the place.

Akash : Thanks bhai.. I will message you right now..

Arnav hung up the call and turned back to see Misha joining Lavanya and Akshay to play chess. He felt a smile creeping over his lips when he saw their innocence and happiness. He had to come out of the shell of over protection towards his sister he thought. He moved inside to meet his jeejaji as he had no idea about the route.

Arnav came down dressed in black suit and green coloured shirt. Anjali was awed to find her brother coming down with much confidence like a big businessman. She stopped him in midway and crossed her hands to remove evil. Arnav sighed at his sister's silly act and smiled.

Arnav : Di.. I am not wearing this for the first time please. Why do you always feel like I am kid dressing for some fashion dress competition? He mocked his sister with a naughty glint in his eyes only to earn a slight hit on his chest.

Anjali : chup.. Don't you know you are my kid? Vaise where are you dressed up for? To bring Khushi back? So fast? You just dropped her chotte!

Arnav : Di.. I am going for a meeting. Akash was supposed to attend , all thanks to Abhay for messing up that meet. So I had to go .. I will pick up Khushi only at evening.. Don't worry.

Anjali : accha.. so have your lunch and go.. I don't want you to go with empty stomach.

Arnav : Di. Please.. I am running out of time.. where is Jeejaji? I am not sure of the way.. I will take him with me. He said as he straightened his tie and arranged his files.

Anjali :Oops.. Jeejaji just went out. Why didn't you inform him before. He had an urgent call to meet at the lawyer office. Wait let me call him back. ANjali tried to call his mobile while Arnav cancelled the call.

Arnav : No. work comes first .Let him do his job. I can handle this di.. Ok.. I am taking the car. I might be late.. Don't wait for me. If I am late I will ask papa to drop Khushi home ok. Bye.. Arnav rushed out as he was pressed for time without even listening to what Anjali had to reply. Anjali sighed and nodded at her brother who was really crazy sometimes. She was worried on how he would reach the place properly.

Khushi had loads to narrate to her amma and buaji while they listened to her attentively.Her each expression with so much actions and explanations brought back those smiles which had faded away last night. Sashi had to go out to settle marriage caterers while Khushi had been at home. Khushi took some clothes to fold and sat on the couch while blabbering her own usual way. The sudden ring of the bell grabbed their attention.She rushed towards the entrance to open the door assuming that it would her father.

As the door opened her huge grin slowly replaced by an O shape lip as she saw her husband like a Greek God dressed in black suit hair neatly gelled standing outside with a smirk. She had no time to blink her eyes and it failed to take out the focus from his head to toe. He felt a little conscious as she started checking him from head to toe. Further not giving her much time to drool on him he moved forward hitting on her and pinching her waist to break her from the reverie.

Khushi : ouch.. Arnavji.. Is that really you?

Arnav : ah.. you have a doubt ? Shall I pinch again?

Khushi : Not that Arnavji.. I am just shocked to see you like this.. I cant believe my eyes. You look so great in this suit.. wow.. She started checking on his suit like a kid not believing her eyes.

Arnav turned around to notice if anyone was approaching them. As he saw they were alone he quickly pecked her lips releasing a gasp from her. She turned around secretly and hit his chest lightly for being naughty.

Khushi : Besharam.. By the way Arnavji.. whats the reason you came in formal.. Should say you look so hot in this. She said shamelessly biting her lip earning an eyebrow raise in surprise from her husband.

Arnav : Hot ? hmmm that's a good compliment from my wife on the second day of my marriage. He moved closer to her leaning near her face but he suddenly noticed Buaji and Garima entering the scene which made him step backwards.

Buaji : Hai re Nandkishore. .. Damaadji.. what happened babua? You just dropped Khushi? Couldn't stay without your wife beside or what? Buaji and Garima giggled while KHushi was blushing profusely at their teasing.

Arnav: No Buaji... Akash couldn't make up for the meeting so I have to attend. I am not much aware of the place so I thought to taking Papa with me as he is thorough abt these places. He said as he sat on the couch of their hall.

Khushi : But Arnavji.. Papa is not available now. He has gone to settle the payments for marriage caterers. How would you go now? You would be getting late by the time he is back. She asked with worried expression while he started to think and Garima & Buaji had no option to nod their head in agreement.

Arnav: oh..I thought I.. well where is NK? I hope he must have knowledge about the place. I actually forgot the way otherwise would have found out. Buaji.. NK is not at home? Has he left? Arnav asked with excitement that he could find a way.

Khushi's face fell as the mere mention of NK's name. She bent her face down not willing to meet anyone's eyes revealing her disinterest which was noticed by Garima.

Buaji: Haan babua.. He knows every nook and corner of this town. I think he would be of great help for you to find the place. Wait let me call him now. Buaji excitedly said with excitement and was about to move inside to call NK while Arnav's voice stopped her in place.

Arnav : No Buaji.. Don't take much difficulty.. Khushi will call him. He turned towards Khushi who looked at him shockingly with raised eyebrows. He knew her serious dislike in his statement. He couldn't much help to keep and stern face and order her.

Arnav : Go Khushi.. call him.. I am waiting. I am running out of time.

Khushi furrowed her eyebrows in anger which she couldn't hold much. She knew the intention behind Arnavji's order. He was trying to patch her up with NK and it was not easily acceptable by her. She was fighting within herself on NK's matter and now Arnavji is trying to add fuel to the fire by uniting them. She turned her face away not with her anger creeping in her. Arnav noticed it keenly and so did her mother and Buaji. They were about to taunt their daughter for the disrespect she showed towards their damaad but stopped when they saw him move towards her with a smile.

Buaji : Babua.. you talk with her. I will take some tea for you. Buaji easily understanding the privacy needed for the couple made some chance to move away from the scene. Garima too followed her quietly.

Arnav smiled at his understanding in laws and further moved towards Khushi who was moving backwards as he approached her. He took swifter steps and caught hold of her elbow making her fall on his chest. Khushi looked away from his eyes as she knew she would easily submit to his orders which would further weaken her resolve.

Arnav: Look at me Khushi. His eyes softened with his tone as he cupped her cheeks making her face his eyes.

Khushi: Arnavji.. I will accompany you. I know all the places here too. You wouldn't have to bother about me during the meeting. I will stay in the car itself without disturbing you. Her words reflecting a sense of ego and possessiveness pervading in herself.

Arnav: Why? Why are you so adamant in not listening to me now? Khushi.. I want to go with NK and that's final. I want you to inform him now. He said with firmness in his voice but making it soft and clear to make her understand what he was trying to convey.He could feel the tears collecting at the brim of her eyelids. Before it could make it way spoiling her cheeks he leaned in to kiss the tears and wiped them off from her eyes.

Khushi : Arnavji.. I .. cant.. Please.. Don't pressurize me.. She started to sob which he stopped with his hands and made her look at him as she started to look down away from his eyes.

Arnav: Baby... what did you promise me sometime back? You said nothing would come in between us.. Now you are creating an invisible wall unknowingly by doing this.. Khushi it was hard to remove your guilt and I suppose this is an byproduct of that guilt which you had planted in you.. Don't you think I should also have the same guilt for being responsible to create a rift between affectionate siblings? Like how you had blamed yourself for no fault of yours I should also be blaming myself the soul cause or rather an indirect reason for breaking a brother sister relationship? Think about it Khushi. If you continue this by ignoring NK I wouldn't be able to come out of this guilt even after ages.

He held her nape tight as she tightened her clutch on his back..

I have told you umpteen times that Lavanya has moved on, I have accepted the reality then why can't you forgive him once? He is also a human to create error. I agree his error could have had adverse fatal effects on Lav's life but think about God's intervention through you. He made you to rescue Lavanya. You washed off his mistakes by your actions. You are the means of salvation for him. Now everything is said and done. Forget everything Khushi.. This life is so short if we go behind revenge.

Khushi couldn't hold herself back and sought solace in his arms as she wrapped herself on him tightly bursting out all her emotions.Arnav let her emotions to come out and caressed her hair as she sobbed with her head resting in his chest.

Arnav : I know how much you love your brother. Break that wall Khushi. We can be normal as we were and enjoy this life. We don't need anymore drawbacks in our life. You don't need to hurt yourself for this anymore. Just forget and forgive. He could feel Khushi's nod through her tears on his chest. Within a moment she composed herself and straighented herself wiping her tears.She smiled widely for clearing all her inner turmoil and that's when he got satisfied with the shimmering smile on her face.

Khushi: I will call NK right now.. Its getting late for your meeting. She said as she cleared his shirt creases and straigtened his coat with a smile.

Arnav grinned widely for his successful attempt and pinched her cheeks with his hands.

Arnav: That's like my old Khushi.. I want this bubbly Khushi free of worries always smiling when I see you. Do you understand ?

She stood straight and stamped a salute to him.

Khushi : Yes boss. Your wish my command. Both of them started laughing at their own craziness and Khushi rushed in bumping over Buaji who was coming with a cup of tea. She narrowly escaped from falling over Buaji and ran inside to defend herself from getting a slap. Buaji got shocked seeing the sanka devi avatar back in her and kept a hand on her head.

Buaji : Hai re nandkishore. Whats a magic? What happened to this Sanka devi babua? She asked Arnav who was smiling at his wife standing with his hands inside the pockets.

Arnav : Nothing much Buaji.. Your neiece is happy today. So obviously the radiance is spreading over us too. She is going to call her brother that's why the excitement.

Buaji looked at him with compassion and more of gratitude for his noble gesture. She had been apprehensive on Khushi's anger with Nk to cool down. The only person who could change could be Arnav she thought. What more can they have as a blessing than this gem like son of the house.

Khushi opened the door slowly making aware of her presence inside NK's room. NK was packing his stuff to leave while he turned to spot who was entering his room. Both of them rooted in their spots not able to withstand the emotion clouding over them. NK was seriously shocked to find his little sister inside his room and tried to smile through his tears. Khushi on the other hand entered into the room with a slow progressive smile which clearly made NK fly in Cloud nine. Silence dominated the room as she reached near him. Whatever she had suppressed within herself let out burst with her Arnavji. Now its her turn to show him how she feels after his efforts to lessen her burden. Till yesterday there was a pang in her heart whenever she saw NK. An unknown tug of war in herself which her mind and heart experienced. She had trusted NK so much but her trust was shattered in a moment when the most dreaded truth of her own brother cheating her sister in law came out as truth. The intimacy she shared with her brother refused to believe such accusations on him but as the truth turned out in public slowly she herself faced the guilt of trusting her brother. Even after the people who concerned with this had forgiven him she refused to listen to her heart. She was torturing herself against her own heart which did plead her to forgive him. Her point was just , she had all rights to punish him when no one bothered to question NK for his mistakes. Had she known about this weakness of her she wouldn't have extended such a guilt within her. Her mind was cleared by Arnavji today. Now its time to think about the life looking forward than turning back and repenting for the past that was curbing her happiness. She smiled widely after a sigh looking at her brother who wiped his tears and reciprocated the smile with the satisfaction that his sister had finally forgiven him.

Khushi : NK... Arnavji wants to go for a meeting. He asked you if you could accompany him as he is not aware of that location. Would you mind joining him? She asked with a normal smile playing in her lips as she helped him to pack his stuff inside the bag. NK was astonished to find her casually arranging his stuff as she was before. He didn't know what made her transform so easily but this pricked him so much than the anger she showed on him. All he could do was apologise to her and letting his heart out. He moved towards her and held her hands in his asking for an apology.

NK : I am sorry Khushi.. You have every right to taunt me slap me for all those evil deeds I did. Please don't stop talking to me. Please. I feel isolated in this world. Please. Nk started crying on her hands as Khushi tried to get her hands off from his hold, She was not able to hold herself from the emotions and now NK was making it worse. She closed her eyes and the moment her Arnavji's face appeared in herself she controlled the situation herself.

Khushi : NK. Please ...Now just leave out everything. We can talk about this later. Arnavji is waiting for you. Can you join him now? She hurried up the talk as she knew this would be endless if they start to talk abt this. She didn't want it to be extended anymore and curbed the talk with Arnav's name.

NK understood the real reason why she was hesitating to discuss. He sighed in agreement as he too felt its not really a good time to talk about this.Now he should be grateful to her for talking to him normally. He smiled and continued to proceed like what she did. He took his purse tucked in the shirt after combing his hair.

NK : Khushi.. Is Jeejaji waiting for a long time? I guess it must be something urgent. Let me leave then.. Come..

He took Khushi's hands with him boring a happy grin on his face. Finally Khushi felt much relieved when all doors opened for her as she thought. A sigh of relief a lightness in heart she could feel as there was the stumbling blocks of happiness being moved one by one from her way. She prayed to her Devimayya for this peace through out her life which she would treasure till the end of her life.

It was a delight to watch the brother and sister coming down with smiles on their face. Buaji crossed her hands to ward off the evil and prayed to God to keep them happy as always. Garima shed happy tears looking at the awesome siblings coming towards them. Arnav saw the contentment in their faces and turned to look towards NK and Khushi. He felt relaxed as if a big burden had been moved from his heart. He walked to stand behind Garima and Buaji and touched their shoulders.. He thought of teasing his wife and Brother in law.

Arnav : Ma, Buaji.. Arent these Brother Sister showing off a little too much? He asked in a teasing tone earning a glare and an O shaped mouth from his wife.

Buaji : Yes babua as if they don't know to fight among them. How silly? Buaji chuckled with Arnav and Garima when Khushi took faster strides near him with fake anger.

Khushi : Arnavji. Are you teasing me? Wait let me show who I am when you come back home at night.I wont let you sleep peacefully tonite. Wait and watch.

That was a slip of a tongue from Khushi but that surely made others chuckle. Arnav winked at her which made her blush profusely realizing what she had uttered. NK understood the little play between his jeejaji and his sister.

NK : Jeeju.. Aren't you getting late? Let's leave. I think you can continue your fights later. He said as he moved out of the house to get ready.

Arnav took blessings from Buaji and Garima. He requested them to tell Sashi to drop Khushi back home in the evening. He was about to leave the house when he turned towards Khushi to talk to her. Garima and Buaji moved inside not to be a hindrance for them.

Arnav caressed her cheeks with the back of his palms his fingers grazing the redness of her cheeks and nose.

Arnav : Don't wait for me. I might be late. Have your dinner and sleep. I will come and wake you up. He said with a slight naughty smirk as he touched her nose.

Khushi : Why would you wake me up?

Arnav leaned in close near her ear and whispered something which made her blush and the next moment he received a hit on his chest. Before getting further hurt he ran from there to take his car where NK was standing nearby. She sighed with a smile and bid bye to her husband & brother.

Arnav finished his meeting with the client and was really successful in grabbing the project. He was invited for the dinner by the client as a part of their success on the meeting. Arnav excused himself to come out of the hall to search for NK. He saw NK sitting on the couch reading the books getting bored out of it.

Arnav : Sorry NK. It took much time.Can you join us for the dinner. They are a bit insisting on it.

NK (shying away) : No jeeju.. You finish the dinner. I am ok. I can wait..

Arnav: What the? No way NK. Come Join us..He dragged NK by his elbow inside the hall. They moved towards the restaurant area. NK was really surprised to see the posh and elegance of the five star Restaurant. Arnav didn't leave his grip and moved him towards a table where many elite people were seated. He introduced NK to his clients happily.

Arnav : Hi gentlemen. Meet my brother in law Nandkishore. He works for MNC in Mumbai as Marketing Executive. NK got a bit awkward when such high profile people dressed in suits stood up to shake his hand to get introduced themselves.

Arnav made him sit beside him and started to talk about NK's talents which really shook him off. He hadn't known how Arnav knew about his qualifications and proficiency in automobiles. More than a brilliant business man Arnav proved to be one of the charming personality to the clients who keenly listend to what he explained about NK's talents. The clients were much impressed as they were having their dinner in between and held a proposal towards NK to join their branch company in Delhi.

NK was purely stumped off when a sudden offer was put forth to him. He got a bit shiver in between while he stammered to answer.

Arnav : Why not NK? It's a good opportunity based on your talents.You can showcase your talent through the various interview they test you. Don't think that this is out of recommendation. They are gonna give you some chance to prove your talent and hardwork. What say?

NK : But Jeeju .. I didn't expect such a big offer all of a sudden.

Arnav : NK , opportunities knocks your door when you don't grab it then there is no use of cribbing for losing it. Just give it a thought and reply to them back by next week .. What say gentlemen ?

The clients readily agreed as such they were impressed by Arnav than Akash whom they were to meet to finalise the deal. They were very much doubtful in signing this contract but with the sheer confidence and attraction Arnav could hold them in his hands easily.

NK nodded his head and concentrated on his food. Arnav continued his talks on his different views on the industry that he had been dreaming of to be built in Lucknow in coming years. NK was seriously praying to God thanking God for getting such a good husband for his little sister. He felt overwhelmed with his jeeju who had such a kind heart and a humble nature.

As they got into the car NK turned around to clutch Arnav's hand in gratitude.

NK : Thank You Jeeju.. I really owe this to you. His eyes started to moist when Arnav held his hand together consoling him..

Arnav :Hey... why are you getting emotional. I just told about my brother in law and you got an offer. Its your luck NK. Make use of it.. don't leave this opportunity. May be this can become a turning point in your life. Arnav boosted his confidence by placing his hand over NK's

NK nodded in affirmative and rested his forehead on their hands.

NK : Sorry Jeeju.. I had been the cruelest person on earth for having blamed you for not having a character. I have done a huge sin. Sorry..

Arnav was getting a feeling that this conversation was again taking him to point 1 where his wife had started. He wanted to get out of this soon as he felt this would hamper his normalcy.

Arnav : Oh.. Enough NK.. You both siblings are made for each other. You start with the repetitive topic and shuts my mood off. Arnav said with a sigh of irritation which bothered NK suddenly.

NK : No.. I wont repeat this. I wont dampen your mood. I am sorry.

Arnav smirked cheekily turning towards the steering to start the car.

Arnav : You better be sorry and don't repeat this again.. Lets leave . Its so dark. I hope your sister spare me tonite or I will have to bear the burnt for coming late.

He chuckled with NK and drove towards Gupta house to leave NK.
