Thanks for the article.

Yes, DKDM's version of Ramayan may not have worked out. And yes, we keep complaining about "fictionalized" stories and all. But, the underlying message (conveyed by the stories) is completely in sync with the modern times and so easy to understand. That is what I appreciate the most about the show.

And yes, Mohit Raina - born to play Mahadev!

Good article.

I think Lord Shiva has been much less explored in mass media as much as others have been, say, Lord Ram or Lord Krishna. So it's always nice to watch or read anything about Him.

He's also really different from others and incites curiosity.

Shiv-Shakti relationship inspirational.

I agree DKDM has made attempts to make it more contemporary by making Mahadev speak out on issues or in language that today's people can identify with. An unconventional choice like MR only helped their cause. (He's truly the last person who I'd imagine in a mytho before this show came. For a long time I thought he was miscast! 😛 )

I disagree with them on what they wrote on Om Namah Shivay. I was an avid viewer of that show and it certainly did not have stuff like "gold pillars" around the gods etc. The man who they cast for Lord Shiva's role was fit in his own right. In terms of story and handling I make no bones about it that I would take it above DKDM anyday. That show was relatable in its own way and it was a success both in viewership and in inciting viewers' curiosity and interest in Lord Shiva's story.
There's no need to trash old shows to make new shows look like unique phenomena.

I also hate it how they join two and two together to talk of some "phenomenon" or "current flavour". DKDM is popular, Amish's book sells and some other stuff too so yeah there's some "flavour" of the "season". Faltu! 🤢

And for God's sake stop calling gods as "brands"! Every thing is now labelled as brand! 🤢
