Salman Khan: 'Friends run away if I ask for charity'
The actor was speaking at an event where he revealed plans for the healthcare and education organisation to expand into restaurants and clothing.
"Friends from the film industry do help whenever they can. But I am not good at asking money," PTI quotes him as saying. "You ask and keep asking for money and those people run away from you, and you lose friends.
"It is not my business to get into restaurants, clothing, etc. As an actor, you only have the habit of getting things most of the times. But there is always time to give back to the society and I am doing my bit."

He told the press: "There are perks attached to [my name] that I can use... and raise money, but I think Being Human will be a lot bigger than Salman."
Last year, the 47-year-old star denied that he had used the charity to promote his film Ek Tha Tiger.
