First the headlines…
- The whole locality is surprised that a registry had come for Guptaji's wife in her maiden name.
- When all came to know about gayatri ji giving the matriculation exam they come forward to help and also their own dreams come to the surface
- The elders with the exception of Shuklaji are not happy with this revolution in the locality… specially Guptaji
- The deewane themselves feel embarrassed about failing in the exam themselves
- Naresh and Guptaji are not at all happy with the change in their house environment
- Gayatri tries to fight all odds👏👏
Now the full summary…. Fasten ur seat belts… its gonna be extra long!! 😉😉
Everybody, from the youngsters to the elders, is surprised and wondering what was the registry that came in Guptaji's house. Bashir asks Guptaji while he was coming down from his house as to what was that registry that came in his wife's name… and that also his maiden name….. (Plz tell me … Am I right?.... the name of a woman before marriage is called her maiden name na?😕). Guptaji tries to give some lame alibi, but he knows the secret will not be hidden for more than a few hours.😕😕 (Somebody mentions here that has Gayatriji got a love letter from her ex-boyfriend before marriage?!!!!😉😆😆)
At home (that's the Gupta house) –
Kavita calls up Naresh (that's Gayatriji's elder son and hamara Rahul's elder brother… and btw Kavita is Naresh's wife) and asks him to get the books she had asked him to. Naresh tells her that he had got her the film magazine some days ago😆… Kavita then corrects him saying that she had asked him to get the class 10 course books. Naresh is shocked🤢. Gayatriji takes the phone and talks to her son asking him to get the book. Naresh thinks this must be a joke. His mother tells him its not and asks him to write it down or he will forget it… (the book was like CBSE hindi edition etc).
Rahul, at Sandip's house, is talking to Sandip about his mother's madness (well he thinks so😉). He tells Sandip that he dint mind his mom giving the exam but he feared that if she passed the exam then it would be a huge embarrassment for him😉😳… cause he had failed in that test … Sandip laughs at this😆😆…
Just then Urmi comes and asks them to share the joke too…. Rahul gestures to Sandip to not let him be embarrassed in front of Urmi.😳 Sandip changes the story and says they were discussing about something Jugle did.😛😆
Urmi smiles and tells that she has got something for Sandip… "moong ke pakore!!" 😳(Yum!!!... that's one of my favs yaar!!😃😃). She adds… "maine apne haatho se banaya hai"😉 (Iv made it with my own hands). Rahul takes one and has it… he has the expression of complete bliss on his face😉😛. Sandip asks why she has to explain that she has made with her own hands😆… as if ppl can make food with other parts of their bodies also😆!!! Urmi is angry… she closes the box before Sandip's hand could reach the bottom of the box😳. She gives the box to Rahul saying that he can share the pakore with his friends… Rahul says that his friends would be in the 7th heaven if they came to know that Urmi's sent pakore for them!!👏😆
Rahul goes leaving Sandip without the pakore… (which he must have regretted!!😉😉) Anyways… Sandip asks Urmi why had she come at 4 in the evening with a box filled with food. Urmi retorts "why, cant I come to this house whenever I want?"😳😉
Sandip says that he knows her well and he knows that she must have come to tell her something. Urmi secretly tells him that she heard Kavita bhabhi and her mom talking about somebody giving class 10 board exams this year😉. Sandip tells her about Gayatriji. Urmi is surprised🤢. Sandip goes on to explain… but Urmi does not hear anything… she is busy romanticizing her time with Sandip😉😆… I mean looking at him as she has seen him for the first time!!!😛
Suddenly Sandip stops and asks her did she understand… Urmi says "ha… kya?!!" (poor dear.. she had to come out of her beauty dream!!😳). Sandip asks her main reason for coming… Urmi says "baat ye hai…" (and we see the frame changing to the locality exterior!😳)
Naresh comes down from the rickshaw with a white plastic packet loosely binding some books. The 4 guys come forward to help him… but in the process of helping they drop all the books. Jugle finds an English reader. He asks who is giving the class 10 boards? Rahul says "me"… he gets a nice holler from his friends.😆😆
Sukha comes to know about Gayatriji and talks to Guptaji… who is very upset with his wife's decision of giving the board exams. Guptaji replies that even he has heard that his wife was going to become the next Sarojini Naidu😆… Rahul just then comes and asks who this Sarojini is.. Guptaji is surely in a very bad mood… he sends Sukha and Rahul off. Just then Zoya comes and asks about the registry (after some time Shuklaji comes too😳)… Guptaji angrily says that it isn't a warrant for arrest so they should not worry. He sends them away too and goes home angrily.😡
At home –
Kavita and Gayatriji are looking at the various books brought by Naresh and are elated to see the various subjects. Gayatriji says that she always used to love history. Kavita says that syllabuses of other subjects have changed but history is the only subject where she wouldn't have to work hard coz it's the same (history never changes)😉😛. Just then Guptaji comes and shouts at his wife saying that she was trying to change the history😡. Gayatriji is hurt; she starts to cry and says that she will not give the exam. As she starts tearing her admit card her elder son Naresh stops her 👏and takes the admit card with him along with his father outside to make him understand the situation👏.
Naresh tells his father that it would be wrong if they tried to stop mom, but if she stopped herself after getting bored of the exams and the studying then their work will be done and mom will also not get hurt. Guptaji praises him for his "Chanakya neeti"👏 (Kautilya's politics).
Inside, Kavita consoles Gayatriji and later Guptaji himself hands her the admit card saying some encouraging words😳😃. Aside he tells Naresh that he knows that she could never do it in the past nor will she be able to do it in the presence.😡😳
Urmi's father while doing side-bending (Yoga) is listening to his wife, Sujata who is brooming the room. He laughs when he hears about Gayatriji's board exam preparation. He asks her to get 'theple' (a gujrati food item). Sujata tells him about her wish to learn Kathak. Her hubby laughs again which makes her angry because of his don't-care-a-damn attitude😡😡. She says she and all the women in the locality will support Gayatriji's cause and will not get him 'theple'; and just goes.😡
At night-
Gayatriji's studying algebra from Urmi and Sandip and doing a complete mess. Sandip teaches her in a complete layman's language … like how she calculates the dhobi's bill😆👏👏… and she understands well😃. When she leaves for her home, Sandip is tired… he tells Urmi to announce in the whole locality that whoever is teaching Gayatriji should use the language of "gajar-muli-tamatar"😆😆😆… then only she will understand. Urmi asks him admiringly… how do u manage to make the biggest problems easy?... Sandip answers in a shayarana style… "mushkilein mujhpe padi ki aasaan ho gaye!!".👏
Rose aunty takes her English tuition👏. She seems to be teaching her some Shakespeare story 😳… Shyla and something something😛. She tells her that she has to improve her English before she wants to understand her course chapters. She gives her a Filmfare magazine (with a bare John Abraham body in the front cover😉) and tells her that she has to read an English magazine if she wants to improve her english… what better way than reading about your fav bollywood stars (Kya soch hai😛😛… Amazing script writing yaar!!!👏)
At home-
Rahul looking at the magazine says in a Suneil Shetty style that if he had this in his class 10 syllabus he would have passed very easily😆😆😉. Gayatriji is counting the number of shirts she is giving to the dhobi aloud as if trying to remember the algebra problem she was doing last night😛😆. Naresh and Guptaji are glum seeing this excitement in their house!😕
Just then the phone rings, Guptaji picks up the phone… it is Mahua… she asks Guptaji to ask Gayatriji to stay in the kitchen she'll be soon there to teach her chemistry. Naresh and Rahul surprised… chemistry in the kitchen??? What kind of studies is this?😳😳
Naresh is extremely tired of this craziness at home and decides to go to work… Guptaji goes out with him… he cannot stay at home also… Rahul goes out too… but for no reason…. Just because he has nothing else to do😉😆😆. While coming out they discuss Gayatriji's obsession … "saare ghar ko vishwavidyalaya bana ke rakh diya hai" (the house has been made to a university). Mushtaq comes and asks Guptaji whether it is true that Rahul's mom is giving her board exams … in reply Guptaji slaps him😡… he couldn't take this embarrassment anymore.
In the kitchen –
Mahua is teaching Gayatriji chemistry equations… if in sodium hydroxide (oil) hydrochloric acid (chopped onions) are added and heated then the result we get is sodium chloride (salt) and water👏. Gayatriji takes it from there and is able to make the equations taking the flour and the other kitchen food stuff as examples.👏👏
In the caf, Ratiram and the paanwala talks to Guptaji expressing their excitement on the board preparation by Gayatriji. Ratiram says that he should also help his wife (he calls him the headmaster!!😉) and the paanwala says that if he had studied himself he would have taught Gayatriji too😆😆. Just then Shuklaji comes and tells Guptaji that he would take her Sanskrit classes.👏👏
At night-
Sujata is dancing kathak while her husband looks at her moves!😉😳 Just then Sandip comes to return the tiffin box and is shocked seeing Mrs. Mehta dance. Urmi comes from behind and tells Sandip 'babu'😉😛 that learning kathak was her mom's childhood dream. When she sees the box in sandip's hand she asks… Sandip says that her mom had send him dhoklas (which was very 'dhaansu'😆👏) and he had come to return the box. Urmi says that he should not return an empty tiffin box😉😳. Sandip at first asks how will he get somebody to cook for him… Urmi looks at him expectantly😛… Sandip says – actually I was thinking if u could help me😳. Urmi's expectations went up another notch😉😃. Sandip then says – I wanted to talk about this with ur mom but she is busy now… so… Urmi was absolutely blowing with happiness😉😆 (her expectations reached a new high!!😆). Then Sandip says – if she could talk to Usha Rani… a cook who works in Urmi's mausi's house… if she could cook for him just twice a day🤢. Urmi's 'armaan' shattered into a heap of dust😳!!! She said angrily that even if that cook had time… she dint have time to talk to her… she angrily takes the tiffin box from sandip's hand and goes inside.😆
Next morning –
Gayatriji and Guptaji come out of their house together… gayatriji asks for her husband's blessings… she was going to start geography preparations from this day. Bashir and gyaniji found them talking and they give some encouraging words to bhabhiji👏. They call Guptaji saying that Gayatriji can go herself come with us we will chat and let her do her work. When Guptaji sits with the elders and Gayatriji goes bashir says that Zeenat will be teaching geography to his wife. They make fun of the fact that if Gayatriji passes the exam then a day might come that they will have to call Guptaji as Ramakant Mishra😆. Guptaji feels utterly humiliated.
The 4 deewane are worried too... they feel it is a disgrace for them not to give the exam... they are getting to hear a lot at home...
Jugle gives them the idea... why not hide her books!!😆😆
Shuklaji teaches Gayatriji sanskrit in a wonderful style of his own... in a music style... the whole sanskrit verse was converted into a song and all she needed to do was learn the lyrics of the song and remember the music.
Gayatriji caught the music well and kept humming it even after Shuklaji was gone. Naresh comes home and sees his mom humming... he is frustrated with all this... he goes to his mother and tells her that he is an MBA and can get her whatever she wanted... but he did not understand why did she have to give her class 10 board exams at this age... she wont be getting anywhere. Gayatriji tries to make her son understand the importance of fulfilling ones dreams. She gives him his own life's example... when he wanted to go to an engineering school she backed him and when he dint to give his exams she backed him then too... all she wanted was a little understanding from her son so that she could fulfill this dream of hers.
Naresh goes saying "Ok do what you want... we'll just listen to ppl laugh"
Gayatriji is hurt but doesnt say much.
Night falls –
Guptaji reaches home and sees Gayatriji engrossed in her studies, he gets reminded of wat his friends told him in the morning😕. He coughs to announce his presence😳. Gayatriji looks up and says that she will get him his dinner, from the kitchen Kavita says that she doesn't have to get up from her studies she'll give babuji his dinner. Guptaji, irritated, says that he has had food in Gyaniji's place😡… at least no women there have taken the pledge of changing history as women in his house has done.😡😕
Gayatriji is hurt and she goes to the temple the next morning…
She asks God whether whatever she is doing is right or wrong. She is very emotional😭😭… she knows that god cannot answer to her (she asks God…"sapne kyun dikhate ho jo poore nahi ho sakte?"😭… why do u show dreams which cant be fulfilled!!?). As she is about to leave the temple she finds a group of sadhus chanting "hare Krishna hare rama…". For a little moment she prays and cries😭😭 and then she realizes. "jo sapne dikhata hai wahi saakar karta ha… hum sapne saakar nahi karte sirf sapne ko saakar hone ki koshish karte hai" (whoever shows us the dream fulfills it himself… all we have to do it try to fulfill the dream… the rest is done by the one sitting above!!).
Zeenat is singing in her house 😛… "Aaja sanam madhur chandi mein hum…"… to the dismay of her 2 kids (Mushtaq and Zoya)… who are shutting their ears with their fingers😆. Bashir comes and stops her saying that she doesn't have to bring the ghost of fulfilling childhood dreams to their house also. Zeenat sadly snaps… in college I was called 'Noor Jahan' and now after marrying you Im called 'Door Jahan".😆
With the background song "Chodo kal ki baatein, kal ki baat purani…."…. we see the revolution blossoming in the locality….👏👏
Gayatriji studying while kneading flour, Sujata and Urmi dancing (kathak), the Paanwala posing for a picture being sketched by Ratiram, Gyaniji and Sukha in complete cricket attire as if to take over the cricketing field, Rose and Zeenat practicing singing with Sandip (who has his head rested on his palms in anguish!😆), Rahul helping out in the kitchen👏👏 and last … but not the least… Zoya practicing in front of the mirror speaking like an air hostess (in a printed blue sari which air hostesses wear😳😳).
At dinner time-
Guptaji and Naresh are waiting for the food to come, Gayatriji studying and Kavita serving food to everybody😳👏. Rahul has made the world's most ugly looking chapattis which seem absolutely inedible😕 (of which he is proud of😳😳...I think its not bad for a first timer!!😳😉😆). Naresh and Guptaji get angry and get up from the table. Guptaji goes to his room and Naresh sits in the sofa blasting … "you can eat the food!!"😡😡. Gayatriji first asks him not to get up like this without eating😕… but when he says that she should go and just study, she goes to her room gets something from her cupboard and gives it to Naresh saying that every time there was a person in this house who lost a year academically she had to sell one jewelry each time. Now that her studies are going to be stopped it should also take away one piece of jewelry too. Naresh is ashamed…😕
Kavita makes him understand after Gayatriji goes… when he had failed in his engineering college his dad had decided that he would be working in Ratiram's caf after that😕. It was only because of his mom that he was able to go back to his studies and was able to complete it and become such a career person👏. Naresh realizes the value of a mother and her sacrifice for them!! (Guys at this moment I saw my mom wiping her tears…. I realized one thing… the makers have been able to actually connect with the inner emotions of a woman… which is in my opinion the biggest achievement for this show)
