Defamation case ? what a Joke

Can one file a case and get someone behind the bars just because he declines to marry after engagement. What a joke CV s are playing.

No, Its really possible. I don't know about the sections or if the defamation word is right or not. But there are provisions for it.

I think they can use dowry related laws against the groom for breaking engagement. They can say that dowry demand was made and due to the engagement was broken, i guess.

Here in this link almost similar case like Jagya's is being discussed.

i see marriage breaking but i never heard that someone put behind baar just because someone break marriage .why would court send some one to jail if someone break marriage .i have never heard such type of law when someone break marriage engagement that person can be send to jail

Acc to the above link i gave, they can file only fake dowry demand case. Not for breaking the engagement per se.

I guess thats only in case of dowry related engagement breaks. Not for other issues.

Seriously? What's the proof? The engagement took place between family at the BH and it not like jagya broke a written contract.

Marriage cards were printed. Thats a proof. Anyway this law will be applicable only in case of dowry related issues. So it won't apply for Jagya's case, unless shekhars file a dowry demand case on the entire Singh family.

Breach of contract also applies it seems. But i'm not sure if the guy will be put behind bars or asked to pay damages/compensation😕.

I am sure Ganga will save Jagya from this case
