don't you guys think it is hypocritical to show men cheating there spouse as funny movies like masti, no entry and many more. but if it is a woman cheating her husband then the movie is in art genre like astitiva.

can you imagine how the story would have moved if it was pia who had an extramarital? we have seen anand's reaction to ratna when she danced with wasim. so obviously he would have gone bonkers. but what would her parents, in -laws, sara, mohan and others would have done?

Bluepink, A very interesting observation from your part indeed, and a very true one. Had this been a reverse situation, first of all, they would have shown Pia in short hair, western looks and possibley revealing clothes. As far as our Indian (or Southeast asian) society goes, in Pati, Patni Aur Woh, the "Woh" will be a woman at least in the near future.

My point is : we as a society can not think of women as human beings. Because it is not convenient for us to do so. We still think of women as "ma" and "devi" and any woman who dares to be human gets stamped as a vamp. Pia won't be Pia as we know her in a hypothetical reverse situation. That kind of Pia will have more in common with hindi movie's Bindu type roles than this serial's Pia.

I agree. n my opinion, betrayal is wrong, man or a woman. The movie Arth has an ending which is different and I liked it. Astitva did address the issue of a woman cheating a man as well (Urmila) and I was happy initially because it appeared as though Manas would accept Urmila finally. Until he ran after Ria. I did read somewhere that he accepts Urmila finally. Yet to be seen. She deserves a chance, if Abhi deserves it, then so does she! Yes, people like Anand are possessive and hypocrytical..

Sorry, did not realize you were talking of the movie Astitva. I have not seen it though heard a lot about it..

But I do like movies/serials where they give a different meaning or ending when a girl/woman strays.

Well said BluePink!

Women have not right to betray and then been accepted wholeheartedly like we have seen in many movies, you have listed already.

Silsila is yet another good example wherein man and woman both betrayed their spouses and yet I think later accepted by both innocent spouses.

Ususally reverse is not true as in our society, we have over expectations from women.

there is another movie called 'EK PAL'(*ing Shabana Aazmi, Nasiruddin Shah and Farukh Shekh)..........not sure whether you guys have heard of it. In that movie also Shabana has EMA with Farukh and gets pregenant. And in the end Nasiruddin accepts both her and the child. It was a very nice movie.

But again it was an art movie like what Bluepink has stated. I wonder how many people have seen it 😕

I think I'd really hate Pia, if the situation was reversed! I think she'd be ostracized by her family!! 😛 😛 😛
