In reality do doctors really ask this type of question "maa chahiye ya bachcha"?
I mean why should anybody else (husband or family) decide on one's life?

Apart from what is shown in tv - mahaan bahu giving up her life for the happiness of her husband's family, in actual a woman might not want to die for her unborn child/ fetus.
As we know there are some indian families who would torture or even kill their daughter in law for dowry or for being childless or for giving birth to a girl. In that case of a doctor ask this question to a family of this kind they would sure choose the child over her bahu. And this will be wrong if the bahu wants to live. 😕

i dont think its for the happiness of the family,!!
how can any woman imagine the death of their own child. mothers can do anything even give their life for their child n its no mahaan act, its the nature of a mother to give everything to their child

Suppose you already have 2 daughters and you have one complicated fetus, you want to live because you are happy with your daughter and want to take care and spend time with them. But your in-laws/husband want a son, so no matter what- they want that third baby to be born assuming it's a son. Now who should decide whether you live or not.. Should this be you or your family?
