Rachel Weisz said something awhile back that stuck with me.

She basically said that botox hampers actors from emoting and expressing and their face is basically plastic. Like how steroids are banned in sports b/c it affects your natural ability.

Here is her exact quote: "Acting is all about expression; why would you want to iron out a frown?""

I thought it be an interesting discussion. Granted no one has really taken that many noticeable botox shots that it has affect their performance but it is misleading.

Interesting take...but I think it doesnt apply in bollywood.

Bollywood isnt about talent or expression. It's about being a visual medium and providing glam.

You take glam, looks, etc out of the films, and the audiences walk out.

Otherwise why is our industry filled with models who cant act?

If we ban Botox then we won't be seeing any actor/ actress in the lead roles after 35 ( and 40 if they have some lucky genes)😆

There is a difference between athletes taking steroids and actors using BOTOX...the steroids enhances the performance of an athlete which negatively impacts others ...in case of BOTOX...it is not affecting others other than the one who is using it...so no need to ban it...the actor using should decide themselves what is more importanat for them...acting or looks😆

Personally I don't think there is anything wrong at all in BOTOX or lipo or plastic surgeries if they are not affecting ur body in a negative way but are being used just to enhance the look..

Yes ban botox so that I can see some expressions on one of my fav Khan!! I hated that surprised, happy look on his face & last heard that he will be a student again😭

The main problem is overuse of Botox,hence freezing your face. It really is interesting to think that if actors don't use Botox they will first of all age naturally and it will allow actors to evolve from a main character to maybe acting their own age. Ofcourse it goes without saying that expressiveness would increase too.

Botox can't be compared with performance enhancing steroids at all. Botox can't be banned for the sole reason that it doesn't really affect anyone else other than the person using it. A producer has a choice to choose between a Botoxed superstar and an expressive starlet.

if anyone is in a position to get botoxed, i m sure he/she is also aware of the side effects of it. even then they opt for it, then its their personal choice. using steroids is cheating. if somebody cant emote well coz of botox, we call them fool, frozen or bad actors 😆, but not cheaters/dopers.

but banning botox will directly give us member more time to do something better 😆 see, botox banned, than means to avoid wrinkles, actors n actresses have to take care of their eating habits, sleep, exercise, overall lifestyle to stay in the game. n if they do that, more than half of the gossip we have here will go out of the window 😉
