I had always thought Jodha was very similar to Mynavati in crying and complaining department. Mynavati complained/cried mainly in front of her Maa-sa and Jodha in front of Kanha. Today, though Mynavati did all mothers proud. It was sad that husband-wife issues came out open in public. I still give credit to Jalal that he presented the whole issue as delicately as possible. He did not taint Jodha in anyway, he did not even bother to bring up the 'gunahe azeem'. He does not forget to mention though that it is Jodha's decision to go back. Something that has been bothering him for a long time. Human pyscology is strange is'nt it - the more we cannot get something the more we desire for it. In a firm tone withougt any anger Mynavati rejects Jalal's decision of taking Jodha back to Amer. I was so glad that Mynavati did not call Jodha names or put her down. As a Mom she should know how difficult it was for her daughter to agree to this marriage. She knows where Jodha is coming from, but she also knows that her daughter has what it takes to make this marriage work.
Jalal, you did not argue with you MIL even once about Jodha staying back in Agra. After all she did a 'gunahe azeem' to your badi ammi. This was the first sign of his deepest feelings showing up. His unconscious inner feelings overtook his respect for badi ammi. I was really very happy with today's episode as this was a huge progress in Jalal's character. We continue to see the helpless Jalal when he finds out that Jodha is missing. I can't wait for the day when Jalal shuts Ruqu up when she does one of her laughing act. She does explain very clearly though that Jodha has no choice but to take her life. I did see Ruqu analyzing Jalal when he was so restless, deep down she knows that Jalal cares about Jodha. It bothers him tremendously that Jodha hates him. Its strange though that Ruqu inspite of knowing all this only ignites Jalal further by repeatedly saying how Jodha does not desire Shenshah. Does she think by saying it repeatedly she will get Jalal mad enough to forget about Jodha. Its actually having all together different impact, he desires her even more. I somehow felt its no his ego that hurts anymore with this statement, its this deep longing of being completed by a soul-mate.
It must have been so assuring for Mynavati to know that if not for her, Hamida would have never let Jodha go. How right was Hamida last week when she said 'khuda Jodha ko himmat de'. Hamida wisely also notices that 'mat bhed mit sakte hai agar dono saath mein waqt bitaye'. May be it is Hamida who decides to send the odd couple to a hunting trip so that they can spend sometime together. We audience will be indebted to you forever as we have been waiting for Mohan entry forever. Can we please get more clothes for Humida, she is always in those sad brown clothes. Even mynavati gets more clothes..
Jodha also for the first time accepted that her Jallad pati is not as bad as her imagination had created it to be. Her inner conscience fights for Jalal and brings out how he has always respected all her wishes. I was so happy to see this scene. The only sad thing though is that she still decices to go forward with suicide. This was not because Mynavati did not take her back, I don't think Jodha expected anything different here. Its her ego that is making her take this step, the ego that proudly told Jalal how her parents would be happy to keep her. The ego that was hurt when Jalal was indifferent to her going back.
