Thnx to everyone who commented n liked. 300+ likes on last part. Yohoo!!🤪
I want a favor though. Why I get so many instant likes only wen I ask for it. Believe me I don't like giving targets n every part takes efforts of the writer. So please press like even when there is no target, that would be really nice😊.
I couldn't see you like that beta and what Geet meant to you was apparent. Your happiness was all I wanted n your happiness was in Geet only. Last time I couldn't do anything when you n Shreya got married but this time I knew what I had to do.
Maan's eyes were teary n heart swelled with emotions he couldn't hold. I never said this Dadimaa, but... thank you.
The gentle, soothing motion on her head made her sigh in sleep with contentment, later though, she felt something wet touch her face. Geet opened her sleepy eyes to see Maan's face. Her gut twisted though she couldn't see him clearly with her groggy vision.
Didn't mean to wake you up. Maan nearly croaked wiping the tear drop from her face. His voice struck her like an arrow. She sat up alarmed, her eyes adjusted n then only she looked into his.
He looked totally worn out n his eyes were sad... saddest. She had never seen such deepness of sorrow in his eyes. His pain always came with anger. Today there was just ache, naked n black. And she felt it like his pain was hers, it clutched n squeezed the thing in her chest.
Maan's heart beat fast as she stared at him, confused n worried. She is right here Maan. You could hold her, protect her. The beating rhythm in his chest got harder. It resonated in his ears, loud n clear. Maan closed his eyes, he couldn't control any longer. A tear fell down his cheek then another and another. When he opened his eyes a sob came out of his mouth n through his blurry vision he saw her eyes watering.
Like a mother would do to her child, she held his head n pulled it into her chest as though to guard him of all the burning anguish n evil. She didn't know what was bothering him to such degree but she surely wanted to push the black cloud away n free him of the crushing wrench. She hadn't seen him so weak, vulnerable n defeated. As he cried against her chest n wounded his hands around her waist, fear touched n caught her. Was it about the nightmare last night? No. She'd had it before too in front of him and as far as she could recall she didn't say or do something that would bring him to such breakdown.
He was saying something. The voice got a little louder n she tried listen harder. His words were hoarse n he was repeating them again n again. Mujhe maaf kardo Geet. Mujhe maaf kardo.
Her each word was echoing in his brain and Maan didn't know how else to express himself. When she was going through hell, he was buried in his own suffering. He should have left the world at that n had gone in search of her. Only if had known. How was he supposed to apologize now? She had always considered him her husband; she selflessly gave herself to him when he didn't even remember that night when he had filled her mang. And a husband wasn't just meant to give love; he was a protector, a provider. And Maan had failed as all three.
Geet pulled back held his face in her hands to look into his eyes. Maan aap maafi kyu maang rahe hai? When he didn't-couldn't-say anything, she asked. Neeraj ne aapse kuch kaha kya? Maan shook his head. There was a pause before she spoke next. He gave you the recording. The stiffing of his body was the answer she needed. Her hand dropped from his face n she looked down.
With breath caught in throat all Geet could think of was those horrible days. The loneliness, the humiliations, taunts. She thought about her parents murder, all those times she was physically abused, the night when that monster had tried to force himself on her, the talk with Buaji when Geet had tried to tell what Ranjeet had done n the allegation that she must have given him wrong signals only or tried to seduce him that's why he had done so.
Her eyes opened.
Accha hua. Maan's red eyes were wide with surprise. Of all things this wasn't what he had expected to hear. Accha hua aapko sab pata chal gaya. Maan mai nai chahti ab humare beech koi raaz rahe, koi baat adhuri reh jaye. Mai shayad aapko khud kabhi na bata pati. She sniffed herself but her hands came up to wipe his damp cheeks. Mai jaanti hu mai iss layak nai par mai... mai koshish karungi. Mai koshish karungi k ek acch bahu, acchi maa aur wife ban saku. Mai aapko har khus-hi dene ki koshish karungi. Mai... wada karti hu. Geet didn't know when she started to cry so hard. She desperately tried to recall what she had said in that session. How much he knew n if he was appalled by her past? Did he know she had said yes to the marriage? God! Did he hate her?
Maan made her look at him. There were no more tears but a strong determination in his eyes. Geet had no idea how a person could switch between such intense emotions. Khabardaar jo tumne khudko kabhi kam samjha. You are everything I ever wanted. For years I have yearned for you, died to see you, feel you. And there's no way I am letting you feel that you are lesser than me or anyone else. You don't have to try to be anything. You are best as you are. You are my life and I will never let you go ever. I will surround you with so much love you would forget what pain means. Mai khush rakhunga Geet tumhe, hamesha. Yeh Maan Singh Khurana ka wada hai tumse.
Geet bit her lip to stop the sobs that fought to come. In his large hands Maan tenderly held her face. Tum ro sakti ho jaan, par yeh akhiri baar hai. Iske baad aur ansu nai dekhunga mai tumhari ankhon me. Geet nodded n hugged him. He pulled her tighter into him, his body wrapping around her like a frame. She felt the warmth, the security n for the first time she felt light, all the load shed. Geet... Haan. Tumhari tarah mai bhi koi baat adhuri nai chodna chahta. I never loved Shreya. Maine kabhi usse haath bhi nai lagaya. Jia... Jia is not my blood. You trust me na?
A question not even worth asking. She trusted him so much that it seemed only now she understood what trust meant. It meant to let go n fall back because you know the other person would hold you no matter what. It was a crazy feeling like every part of your being is finally complete because you didn't have worry about anything anymore.
Haan Maan. I am never committing the same mistake again. I trust you with every ounce of me.
Maan sighed into her hairs, kissing her cheek, neck, crushing her bones against his body. The overflowing emotions flooded both of them n they didn't care to drown if they were together.
There was a knock on the door, then a push n Jia came in. She grinned n Maaneet cleared their throats wiping the remaining tears. Subah ho gai. Jia said sucking her upper lip. Geet looked at the clock n it was 9 a.m. Aapne mujhe jagaya kyu nai? Jia is only responsible person here. Thank you baby. Jia grinned big, trotting towards the bed with her small legs, her head spun though as her super eyes caught that pink sparkling box on side table. With her mouth she did that O thingy n changed direction towards the table. Mommy what is this?
It's sweet candy from mommy-daddy's school.
Caaandy. Jia picked the box up. You both were in same fool?
Geet n Maan looked at each other and couldn't help chuckling. Yeah princess. Mommy daddy both were fools na, so we went to same fool only.
Jia nodded hardly listening to her father. She took out a candy ball-utterly ecstatic seeing the pink color-from the box n put it in her mouth. Then she was gone. Closing her eyes, she licked her lips making all kind of cutie sounds. It's awesome na? Geet asked excited. Haan. More than brownlate. Mai yeh le lu.
Sure. Give mommy one n you can take the box. Otey. Jia gave Geet one Sweet candy ball n bounced out of the room with the box.
You want?
Maan shook his head n Geet shrugged popping the ball in her mouth. The candy had to be magical. Nobody could tell she was crying just moments ago. Her expressions were identical to Jia n Maan's mouth watered. You know what Geet, I want it now.
Butt- ab toh maine thaa liaaa... She spoke with candy melting in her mouth. Not yet. He held her head in place n slammed his mouth on hers. His tongue instantly dove inside her open lips n he moaned tasting the dulcet heavens. Geet was stilled and he stole all the candy from her mouth. She playfully pushed him away. That's cheating. Maan came back at her pushing her body on the bed. You don't know what cheating is, jaan. Geet blushed n giggled softly as he nuzzled her neck, licking the skin. The sound of her laughter was a soothing balm. Maan sighed, his body moving on its own accord. He slipped his hand inside her salwar feeling the softness of her hidden skin while Geet arched to offer him more, all. Maaan. Aapko... office nai jaana?
He stopped, standing up in seconds. Yes. I have some important work. I better get ready. He marched into the bathroom. Geet twisted her lips. Yeh toh sach me chale gaye. Mai toh aivayi keh rai thi. She kept a hand on her belly n smiled nonetheless. Baby papa ekdum pagal hai.
Meera was typing discreetly on the keyboard, her eyes trained on the computer screen when the intercom rang. Ma'am, Mr. Maan Singh Khurana wants to meet you. He doesn't have an appointment though.
Send him in.
I don't meet anyone without an appointment, Mr. Khurana. She said as soon Maan entered through her cabin door. She had thought the man would never see her face after that slap. She couldn't say she regretted it but the cloud of anger had dissipated after that meeting. She was able to think more... rationally now. Somewhere it irked her that he didn't gave back to her, a man like him, proud n powerful.
The thing I am here for couldn't have waited for an appointment. He said taking a seat. And I guess you know it too because I am here n you are meeting me without appointment.
What do you want?
I want punishment for those who hurt my Geet. I can help you.
That possessive my' before Geet' didn't escape Meera's sharp hearing. She gritted her teeth. You think I need your help?
How about I frame it as we can work together to nail them'. I just want to end them as fast as possible. I know some people. And of course you mustn't be sitting idle all this time. There must be something that you know, found out.
Oh, she had. Geet wouldn't say anything and there was practically no opening for investigation but she had employed every means to find out evidences and after years of digging up, there were quite a number of things she had with her, the problem was they weren't enough. Meera looked at Maan. She too wanted to end them, once n for all. After a moment's pause she had formed her mind. Okay. If you have the same motive I am ready to work together. But remember this doesn't mean everything is good between us.
Maan nodded n they both jumped to talk business. Once done and satisfied with their course of action, Maan started to leave. Wait a second. Um, Papa told me she is expecting. Though she tried her best Maan saw the vulnerability on her face and she was hesitating with her words, the moment was worth taking a snap of. This was why he had forgiven her for a slap right on his face, she loved Geet too much n no slap could erase the fact that Meera was the one who stood by his wife in her worst time. There were no blood ties, vows, just a friendship that went beyond words.
She is fine.
Oh. Kay. You can leave now. Maan shook his head n left.
While arranging the room Geet found the packets of clothes that Maan had brought for her stuffed in the lower cabinets of his cupboard. She peeked inside each one of them and couldn't imagine herself in any of them. There were lingerie too. What was he thinking while buying them? Buried below all the packets in the back was a black one which was different from all other packets that had come obviously from same designer. Geet opened this one n was struck. It was the dress Jia had chosen in the mall when they had all gone shopping together. The pink-black dress with smoky shaded flower was stunning but it wasn't for her. She heard footsteps n hurriedly closed the cupboard.
What were you doing?
No-thing. I was waiting for you to come back. You are early. Maan came closer n greeted her with a peck on forehead. Pack your bags Geet we are going.
Where?
We didn't go for honeymoon, did we?
What do you mean? Geet asked unable to take it in. Where are we going?
That's a surprise.
Par hum Jia ko chodke kaise jaa sakte hai?
She will come with us.
Geet lowered her lashes. I am fine here Maan. I don't think-
Maan jerked her against his chest, she gasped as he stared hungrily at her lips, his eyes almost kissing her. Don't worry. I won't give you time to think.
