In Bollywood alot of stuff depends on timing and fads and trends and what is working at that time
Like now every single type of film can be a success .

^ that was not the case 20 years ago or 20 years before that and so on and so forth

like there was a certain time only Action films ruled or Love Stories or Comedies

Does anyone believe the top stars could have been as successful in every era. Whether they debuted in 1950's or 60's or 70's or 80' or 90' or now

Amitabh Bachchan
Raj Kapoor
Dilip Kumar
Rajesh Khanna
3 Khans
Ranbir Kapoor

could these people have debuted at any time when there different styles of working and different types of films being made and still be successful ?

Now I am asking if they made the SAME Career Choices they did just in different decades ???

lets ponder that šŸ˜‰

Waheeda Rehman. She's timeless. The woman just breathes elegance and class. She always seems to bring intelligence and a ladylike quality to her work and she manages to never fall into the trap of "prissy" which is, sadly, what happens to Aishwarya when she tries to play ladylike.
In fact, Grace Kelly is like the American version of Waheeda Rehman.

Aishwarya would def been successful in the 60s, 70s, 80s, or maybe even before. The fact that she can do these larger than life, periodic roles/characters makes me confident in her abilities.

SRK for sure. I bet he would give Rajesh Khanna a run for his money if they were ever competitors.

Nutan! I wish she was more appreciated. Always will be the most under-rated yeste-year actresses. She would be doing some risky roles in this era and setting a standard of her own.

Abhay Deol might actually have been good during the 80s, and especially during the small budget film era when small budget, unconventional stories were fan-favorites. He would always be under-appreciated but still he could do it.

Sri Devi b/c she's timeless.

SRK

He never had a bad phase with flops since he somehow managed to give hit movies during his 20 odd years of career span

SRK and Aishwarya!
SRK has that charm and guts to do all types of roles even negative role where others are scared to do so and are limited to only the heroes !

I wanna say Amitabh too but as he doesn't know how to dance he might not work in the coming films(if he was young).. but still even Amit ji is legend!

^ I remember my father saying Amitabh went through a bad phase and went bankrupt as well at one point. He somehow made a comeback with Yash Chopra movie or something. Not entirely sure about this though
